Subject: 300-Year-Old Death Mystery Continues

The mayor of a Wiltshire market town has appealed for help to solve the 300-year-old mystery of a woman mauled to death there by a tiger.
Malmesbury mayor John Bowen wants to crack the riddle behind the gruesome death of barmaid Hannah Twynnoy.

Buried in the grounds of Malmesbury Abbey, the inscription on her grave suggests that in 1703, aged just 33, Hannah was killed by a "tyger fierce".

Her story has become part of local folklore, Mr Bowen says no-one knows the real facts behind her demise.
