When I was thirteen, following my parents split-up, me, my mom, and my brother moved from a house, into an apartment complex. The buildings were all two story, and we lived on the top floor, next to the tennis courts, overlooking the playground, (there was a small stretch of lawn, and a maintanence building between our building and the playground, but you could still see it from bedroom windows)
To get to the stories..
All three involved my younger brother.
The first happened when my brother poured a glass of milk. I was sitting on the couch watching TV when it happened, but could see him in the kitchen. He'd just poured the milk, had turned to put the milk back into the fridge, when the glass split in two, leaving the milk in a puddle on the counter, and the two halves flew across the room in opposite directions from eachother. Now.. I know this one can easily be dismissed as the glass splitting because of cold liquid possibly being poured into a warm, right out of the dishwasher glass.. (though it was not likely, as my brother and I were not the ones who did the dishes, and my mother hadn't been home from work yet.. any heat from the dishwasher should have long since dissapated.) I saw the glass, heard it split and hit the wall.. it was as if it had been cut clean in two.
The second one.. has no way that I know of to discredit, unless either I, or my brother have telekinesis...
My brother and I were walking down the hallway to our bedrooms, one infront of the other. We had to pass the bathroom to get to either bedroom, and I don't remember now which one we were headed to... We were the only ones at home.. A glass cup suddenly flew out of the bathroom, between us, hitting the wall opposite the bathroom door. Like it had been thrown at us.. What makes this incident even more strange, is that I cannot remember who was where.. I remember the glass hitting the wall behind me, as well as seeing it fly infront of my face to hit the wall infront of me...
The third event was much less destructive than the others had been.
My brother was sitting on the top of his bunkbed, in his room, playing video games. He thought I walked in, and crawled onto the botom futon bed under his feet. He started to talk about the game, then, when I didn't answer, he looked under the bed to find there was nobody there, and I'd been outside at the playground. He said he should have known it wasn't me, cause the girl had dark hair, which I have always had light brown/golden hair.
There were no other actual incidents, that I can recall, though my cat often ran laps through the house, or stared at things nobody saw.. but don't all cats do that?

I have two questions..
Did you ever experience odd things when your Brother wasn't present ? or has any body else ever experienced things that you haven't ? .

You spirit seems to have a preference for beverage glasses. Perhaps the ghosts was offended when it thought it was being being offered a fine chardonay yet suddenly finds milk in its glass. It was doubly offended to find the beverage glass in the bathroom empty! Find the ghosts beverage of choice and make an offering. Perhaps that will solve part of the problem.

The events I spoke of happened 10 years ago.. I am 23 now, and no longer living in that appartment.. Though I haven't noticed anything like that happen since (the glasses) I have noticed other things, often that others don't. Especially in the last year or two. My older sister and I especially seem to notice things, and the like.. We've wondered more than once if we are psychic in some way. I've been informed that I am, actually, of the sensitive type, especially when it comes to emotions.
But lately.. I have actually been -seeing- things that might be ghosts, in the apartment I currently live in, but unlike the first one that my brother was involved in, (he does not live here, is only here on visits, and they show up whether anyone else is there or not), I think these ghosts have felt invited in, rather than us possibly intruding.
The one I've seen most often, unsure whether male or female, is nothing more than a "Shadow Person" It closely resembles a shadow seen -clearly- from the corner of the eyes, but when you look, there is nothing there. Now, I've considered that it is maybe a trick of the light, a reflection on my glasses, or catching sight of my hair out of the corner of my eye, which I have recently chopped off for the first time in years. My father was the first to see it, actually. He came over visiting (he and my mother are still very good friends, so he is always invited to come visit us) while he was sitting on one side of the couch, he asked suddenly if we have ghosts. Since then, when I sit in the same spot, I see the shadow person up to 20 times within a single hour, while watching TV. I decided to test it, see if it really was my imagination,, because who ever heard of seeing a ghost so often? I moved to the other end of the couch (due to allergies, I have to pick a spot, lay a blanket there, and stay on the blanket), and though I've seen it since, not nearly as often as I had sitting on that end of the couch. It resembled a person, possibly seated, only a torso and head, like the arms might have been wrapped around its middle, or crossed, or something like that, and rocking forward and backward. Never see a face, it is only the shape. besides that, other shadow manifestations that are probably ghosts, had been vaguely spotted to the other side of me, in the center of the couch (which I've not seen since I moved my seat) and a hand reaching out and setting itself upon the arm of the couch directly beside me. of course, every time, I looked and saw nothing there.
The second is the quarters.. My mother, and her current love interest, have been building an extensive site on Richmond, VA. They have taken great cares when it comes to the confederate armies of the Civil War, and Hollywood Cemetary. Quarters began to appear, to nearly -everyone- that became involved in spreading the word of the confederates in a good light, that were informed of the need, (and the appearance of the quarters) by her boyfriend. Quarters would appear, not having been there moments before.. and usually, shortly afterwards, by maybe a day or 2, week max, I think, they would vanish again. Somebody even fit a quarter between peices of tape.. It too was removed, without disturbance to the tape. We believe it may very well be the ghosts of confederate soldiers and their wives thanking us for the effort. There are -many many- stories involved with the quarters, far too many for me to even begin to sort and try to tell, especially since most are not my own. The one incident I can speak of.. A quarter appeared one day on my mother's desk. I think she was the one intended to find it, not me, really, so it hasn't vanished in some time.. But the very same day it appeared I saw what looked like a spiralling.. thing.. float into her room. it was a dark object, and I cannot remember now what direction it was spiraling in, but it seemed to have many tiny flecks of light in it, and was about the size of a toddler sized basketball.. larger than a softball, smaller than a full sized basket ball. I thought that I might be imagining things, but when I spoke of it to my mother's boyfriend, he confirmed that he'd heard of at least one other seeing such a thing. His own mother had seen a spiral like I had. She saw it shortly before she died, I saw it shortly before a quarter appeared.

My sister has also got a few stories as far as ghosts go, but none involve me. The "blue ghost" that had a habit of moving blue objects around her friends house when nobody was looking (it actually took a blue glass, the liquid later found in a different blue cup that nobody had put there.. the glass was never found). a cat toy being played with by its previous owner at night, things like that. She has also been known to pull others into her dreams, or be pulled into theirs. Both of us also seem to have an intense affinity toward animals.. her cat used to come and get my mother or father when she was a baby if she needed anything. (this was 8 years before I was born, I only know of it from stories my mom and dad have told us) There are a few animal stories I could tell for either one of us, and at least one for my brother as well.

The truth is.. I think I'm a little afraid to find out what they might want. The one that threw the glass, for example, was either a prankster, or wanted to try to hurt either me or my brother. Jealousy might have been an issue there, considering all three of us (me, my brother, and the ghost) appeared to be about the same age (between 11 and 13) and I, a girl, my brother a boy. People of different genders seem to set certain people off, so its hard to say, and I was afraid to find out.
Its the same with the shadow person.. though I've talked about it often enough, where I'm sure it could hear, and if it wasn't -that- particular one, and there is another in this apartment, or visiting us, that one, at least has actually interacted with me in some way.
No.. the one that -really- scared me, (the others make me more curious than anything else, though can be startling, and it is hard to figure out -how- to find out what they might want, if anything, besides my reluctance to try)..
Me and my husband were/are newlyweds. a year this July, actually. it was shortly after we were married though, we were laying in bed.. can't remember if I'd slept yet or not, but I suddenly felt a very malevolent.. "evil" presence in our room. I don't know if its hatred was actually directed at me, but I could feel it.. Then my husband felt it after I freaked out enough to actually move to the other side of him, near the wall, away from the presence. It seems that it was a one time occurance, so maybe a visitor or something, I really don't know.. but it frightened me.

May be these shadows are always around us, but most of us cannot see/feel them. May be you are sensitive to their energy. Sometimes I wake up at night and I see strange shadows dancing in the air, but I always dismiss the posibility for a ghost because I think that my sleepy eyes play tricks on me. But who knows

I thought about that, that I might normally have seen things, except that my hair was in the way, and I've become more aware of different things like that in the last couple years.. I see things almost constantly, that I thought others could too, but if I mentioned them, they'd look at me like I was crazy. I think some of it might be my imagination.. cept that I see it too often. I'm not sure. There've been times that I saw what I can only describe as "shadow flames' ontop of everything I looked at.. they resembed heat waves, like shadows that distort images in the air.. but moved like flames, flickered, etc. I've seen white particles moving very very very rapidly in the air, and could focus on them, they'd look like they were moving in one direction, and covered everything like fog. if I changed my focus, or blinked and refocus, often the direction they move shifts, but it looks like they all move in the same direction.. and in all directions. its confusing to try to explain, but my mom told me she used to see that too.
As you can imagine.. its hard to believe I can see so many different things, without believing that most of it would just be my imagination.. but now, the more I notice, the more that seems to show up. I've also been told that I had either 4 or 5 totems, and I'd already figured out all but one.. and when I realized what the last was, I wanted to slap myself in the head for an idiot cause it was so obveous. It almost scares me that I was told I have much more to develop, by my mom's boyfriend. (also note, if anybody wants to see them, they've taken pics at a cemetary that had some ghosts in them. they -do- resemble tricks of the light, though, so would be easily discredited)

Wasn't there an episode about shadow people on the X-Files?

I don't know, I never really watched X-Files.. probably. Many series of that nature, fiction or not, stem from real events, and experiences. So even if there was, don't think its not real just cause it was on X-Files

It could have been an orb.. though it looked NOTHING like the ones I've seen pictured. It almost looked like a mini black-hole, or very round galaxy, floating down the hallway. I'd never even heard of anybody else seeing one, till after I voiced the sighting to my mother's boyfriend, who put me to the question about it.. made me think I was just seeing things, that it was my imagination, till he added at the very end that his mother had seen something just like that shortly before she died. I know who that one probably is, and she's got alot of work to do, so probably doesn't stick around too long. The one that threw the glass was in a different apartment than I live in now, and I'd not seen or experienced anything being thrown around since we moved out of that one, just images, and movement out of the corner of my eyes mostly, occasionally while looking straight at it, but very rarely..

there's even one, somewhere, that has ghostly text/writing in it.. if I can find that one, I'll post it, what the text said, and what it meant. (It was in hebrew or something if I remember correctly)

EDIT: also please note, that the site I have linked to, is not one for hauntings, and ghosts (though it may have some stories in it, and my mother and her boyfriend have caught a few photos of them that have been posted, but not listed as such on the site) they are mostly all, from what I've seen, daytime photos as well.

Richmond Then and Now site - www.thenandnow.bravepages.com - We've made hundreds of cemetery photographs of Civil War soldier's graves during daytime hours here in Richmond, Virginia. Absolutely incredible images appeared within the pictures, some with "words" appearing. Other "happenings" are also occurring beyond the camera as a result of association with Civil War soldiers, it seems.
