i think the setup is scarier then the actual sounds. as you said, if it was real, it would not be pleasant at all.

There used to be an old urban legends that some scientists, while drilling to listen to the sounds of the under-crust tectonic quakes, heard the sounds of screaming instead, and they all became Christians, etc. etc. etc.

Later, the World Weekly News (we all know how reliable they are) ran a story about some scientists in Alaska who, while drilling, heard hell, became Christian, etc. etc. etc.

Now, you can supposedly listen to the "original recording," a recording that, by the way, was reported in the World Weekly News in which they took down no audio footage of the incident. I haven't heard the clip (don't have RealMedia, and don't care enough to download it), but it would be relatively easy to make the sounds of a bunch of people screaming, even if you only have two people, if you have a program such as Adobe Premiere. You can layer audio tracks over each other, so it would be relatively easy to do. I don't know if sound effects are also provided, but it would be easy to acquire those too.

One word diagnosis:

Lame.

wow the guy made me think i was about to hear something that would haunt me forever, the guy sounded like a bond villan though with a voice changer lol, and the sounds could have been done by two of my friends lmao

I'm not saying it is real, but if it were — that would be pretty creepy.

But I highly doubt it's genuine.

I once dug really deep in my backyard and heard the REAL sounds of hell.

I heard a big dark voice (that actually sounded a little gay) say:

"Oh Saddam, you never listen to me anymore. All you want to do is have sex."

Followed by:

"Come on, guy. What's the big f---in' deal, b--ch?"

Even though I don't believe in hell that was creepy though I wish that they would have gotten to it quicker though. Very creepy it sounded like a man wailing.

Well I don't know about you guys, but I'm talking about that awful barbershop quartet song from the very bowels of Hell...
