Norwich is a very historical city and it is said it used to have an inn for every day of the year, and a church for every Sunday.

Tap and Spile,Oak Street.
Bottles and glasses on the bar have moved even though noone was anywhere near them.It has also had its fair share of poltergeist hauntings and footsteps have been heard upstairs even though nobody has been up there.
A former landlord (when the inn was called The White Lion)was one of the last people to be hanged. He went to the gallows for murdering a prostitute.

They believe that The Adam and Eve is the citys oldest inn.
It is meant to be haunted by Lord Sheffield, who was struck over the head during Ketts Rebellion in 1549.
He had been send to stop the peasants revolt. He was taken to the inn where he died.

White Woman Lane.
There has been seen a white figure crossing and recrossing the lane.
She was the daughter of the local Manor House who was in love with a coachman who lived accross the lane.
She was on her way to meet him when,it is said she was knocked down and did not make that meeting.
She is still trying to cross the lane to meet her lover. crying.gif

Cathedral Close.

This is a place that has seen a lot of violence and quite a bit of its history is unknown.
Builders were called in to an office to remove an ancient stone staircase from its basement.
It didnt take long for people to notice strange things happening.
Cupboard doors would open by themselves, things moving on their own and objects falling off shelves.
The room was always cold after theses happenings and a smell like cigarettes could be detected.
Noone knows the reasons behind this, could be the ghost doesn't like having to go to find another set of stairs to walk up. wink2.gif

Structural changes often result in a haunting becoming activated or ceasing. In other cases the ghost seems to follow the removed feature and take up residence in the new location. This allegedly happened when a manor house on the Isle of Wight was demolished. A staircase was erected in a new building and remained haunted by a hooded figure. w00t.gif
