^Well there are always at least two sides to every story/event/issue which allows for debating. No issue cannot be debated as everyones beliefs and opinions differ on these many different issues. Such a topic though would hardly be suitable for a formal debate and whoever debated for Saddam regaining his role in Iraqi society would be at a significant disadvantage.

Again I would like to thank all those who have suggested debate topics as they will come in handy when deciding upon the topics for the upcoming tournament.

since Aztecince has been my debate leader for wisdom ill ask him for a chance to throw this one out next time i get a chance to debate.... or when its possible ,.. someone elese besides me can use these i just thought if the ideas is chosen for debate and a member came up with the disscussion topic they would be able to choose first. is this right?

Just a few suggestions
If any are going to be used I would be interested in participating in some.

Mr. Fahrenheit if you can find yourself someone to debate against I would be more than willing to step up one of those debates. Of late I have set up a number of debates which have only attracted one debater or have had one participant abandon the debate. So I am now expressing great caution in setting up any debates.

I would, at some time, like to debate side by side with an old friend of mine: Poseidon3012. So if any other pair wishes to debate us and if we can agree on a topic, that would be great!
I do like the debate topic of English as the national language...

How about a debate on wether or not it is possible for truth to be absolute.

Or possibly whether or not morality is relative.

Phrase it how you like but either of them could be quite intense debates.

I don't know who would like to debate against me in any of those...anybody who wants to debate against me in any of those categories can PM me or post here.

2)Chavs-to many about after 9 o'clock-need curfues vs stay as they are.
3)English-universal language should be in place vs no change

5)Business-to much power vs right amout of power
6)Alton towers-still the uks no 1 atraction vs its not.
7)CN tower-can be consired as a the world tallest building vs it a tower.

I've noticed that often when the topic of SETI is brought up many people argue that it's a waste of time/money, for whatever reasons. I'd be interested in the taking the Saganesque pro-SETI side (i.e. SETI's worth the time, energy, and money) if anyone's interested in arguing against it.

This topic is being closed for the moment, we would like to shift our focus to the Debates Tournament that is currently taking place. For the time being, all of the normal debating sections are offline and will not be used until the tournament is completed.
