Chavo Guerrero was legitametly hurt at the SmackDown! tapings last night when he was on the recieving end of a Shooting Star Press from Billy Kidman. Guerrero remained on the mat after the match, below is a fan account of what happened. During the break, Chavo is still in the ring... and he's not moving. Referees, trainers, and EMTs rush out to aid him, as this looks like a legitimate injury. They put a neck brace on his and gently slide him onto a stretcher. Chavo finally starts moving his left hand. The concerned crowd gave him a "Chavo!" chant and a huge ovation as he was wheeled out of the arena. Guerrero was shaken up by the incident but there are no further details on the matter at the moment.

Hulk Hogan recently conducted an interview to help promote his daughter Brooke's career. Hogan had some pretty interesting things to say, below are the main highlights: - Mentions he thinks working wrestling is worth it but also says he has a degree in finance and management and works in marketing and merchandising. - Highlights that the Diva's are not been used in the right way, "Nothing against the women, but if you use them that way, they don’t draw a number." - Says he is getting ready to do a show on VH-1 with his family. - He also mentions he is interested in starting his own wrestling promotion. He says that with himself, Goldberg, Nash, Sting and Austin in the promotion, they could take over pretty easily, "I’m thinking about it. We may go back to the old days again for a while."

Even though the overall rating was unimpressive (3.6), the latest data reveals that the Kane-Lita wedding was a huge success for WWE. Despite extremely mixed reviews from WWE fans (it was love or hate), the wedding severely boosted ratings. The last quarter of hour two scored a 4.0 and the overrun scored a 4.9. Thus, when compared with the average for the show, over one million additional households tuned in for the wedding. With televised "weddings" often being successful for WWE, and this wedding being no different, expect the "wedding storyline" to show up in future WWE programming.

In an update to Steve Austin's well-reported visit to this week's RAW, his meeting with Vince McMahon was reportedly very short. The five-minute meeting likely did not spawn any major business developments, although little is known as to what they spoke about. Austin, who was in good spirits backstage, reportedly told wrestlers that he gave up alcohol and has a new outlook on life, sort of like a "New Age Redneck," as one source described it. Austin left the company earlier this year after an issue regarding the rights to his name. Steve Austin has also recently been in the news with regards to ongoing problems with his ex-girlfriend Tess Broussard.

Although nothing major came out of his meeting with Vince McMahon, sources inside WWE claim Austin and Vince are on decent terms and that a return to the company is far from out of the question. However, it is not likely that Austin will ever return as a long-term regular character. If he does return, it is expected it will be in "Mick Foley fashion" (excluding the Orton feud), where he'll appear for a few week stint leading up to a guest referee or enforcer gig. WWE may bring him in for an even longer period of time than the aforementioned schedule, but due to the fact that Austin's character generally requires in-ring wrestling to be truly successful, WWE simply cannot find use for him in a long-term regular role. Because WWE's major angles almost always include in-ring wrestling, and since Austin is very strict about how his character is used over the long-term, both sides generally accept the unlikelihood of a regular role.

It's very good to see that the fans were able to show Chavo that kind of respect...maybe they realised it wasn't a work, but the general habit seems to be to boo heels out of the building when they seem to be hurt. For my part, if Chavo is seriously injured, I hope him a speedy recovery.

WWE recently registered a handful of trademarks for names and new logos with the USPTO. The logos trademarked include a logo for Evolution and two new logos for Shawn Michaels. It is not known when, if ever, the logos will go into effect for the faction and HBK. The names trademarked include "Taboo Tuesday," "The Establishment," and "The Honor Society." Once again, WWE trademarks a lot of names that they never end up using, but if the latter two were to be presented on WWE programming, they would undoubtedly be used for new factions.

In yet another incident involving Carmella DeCesare, she was involved in a wild bar fight last night at Tramp's Nightclub in Cleveland. The fight was reportedly over NFL QB Jeff Garcia. DeCesare reportedly rushed Christin Hine, 32, and slapped her, before continuing the verbal and physical assault. After being broken up, the Playmate of the Year screamed "I'm going to kill you!" And, yet, the incident still wasn't over. On her way out, Carmella stood up on a platform and kicked Hine in the head. While the paperwork is only filed from the victim's point of view, a witness at the bar backs up the account. However, Carmella's lawyer denies the claims. The woman was not hospitalized, but reports indicate this was not a one-time incident. Carmella reportedly called the woman several times leaving threatening messages, again, something Carmella denies.

Despite constant attacks from websites for not hyping The Rock's return in advance, WWE remains firm in its argument that featuring the occasional surprise return keeps the shock aura around WWE RAW, causing fans to wonder if any more surprise returns will occur. WWE's feeling is that if it hypes everything in advance, fans will automatically know when no newsworthy segments will be a part of the RAW telecast, and not tune in. More specifically in the case of The Rock, WWE also does not want to disappoint fans with his appearances. WWE has no interest in featuring him in major angles on RAW, yet if they pre-promoted his return, fans would expect something better than an encounter with the Diva contestants and/or La Resistance. Since fans go in not expecting to see The Rock, they cannot be disappointed with his involvement.

WWE has decided to shift focus away from Eugene following his high profile Summerslam program with Triple H. Eugene is not being blamed for low ratings or declining business, but WWE has opted to lower him and put the spotlight on Randy Orton as the company's top face. Eugene was not mentioned on RAW following Summerslam and last week served only as the valet of sorts for William Regal. WWE does not have plans to bring Eugene back up to the level he was at leading to Summerslam, even though his feud with Triple H has yet to really be resolved.

WWE fined seven wrestlers last week for violating their new dress code policy, including D-Von Dudley and Rey Mysterio. Everyone was fined $500 for the first offense. As reported, WWE will issue $1000 fines for second offenses, and a suspension for third offenses. Many WWE wrestlers feel that the company has no right to fine for dress code violations since nothing related to dress is in anybody's contract. Many feel WWE is going way beyond their legal rights in fining over dress code, since many of the wrestlers are considered to be independent contractors, a technical thing that WWE does to avoid paying many benefits and getting certain tax breaks. Management feels it isn't too much to ask that the wrestlers look professional.

Edge was injured last night in his match with Chris Jericho in Salt Lake City. Edge took a bump outside the ring about 2:00 into the match, and started yelling that he was injured. We've heard he took a bad bump on his back or hip and knew he was hurt immediately. They immediately stopped everything. EMTs and refs came out, similar to when they do the Fit Finlay spots with the fake injury. However, the match was stopped. Edge refused a stretcher and was helped to the back. He was in tremendous pain after the show and the last word we had, which was pre-examination, is he was very scared it was something serious. It's never a good time for an injury, but for his career, this is about as bad a time as possible. Hopefully we'll have an update on this as the day goes on.

Many thanks to reader David Glenn for sending this reporter the following live report: I attended the 8/28/04 house show of raw in Salt Lake City, and thought I would pass on a report of Edge getting injured at the show. I was front row right when edge was thrown over the top rope by Jericho. There didn’t seem to be anything Jericho could have done to prevent Edge not being hurt. When Edge hit the ground he hit very hard. He looked at a few fans who were close by and one of the security guards. Right after Edge hit the mat he said "aw F*ck Aw F*ck" the security guard asked Edge where he was hurt, he replied, "I don't know". Edge lay on the floor outside of the ring. Jericho didn't know what to do so the guard told Jericho that Edge had been counted out only a minute or so into the match. Then the gaurd and the trainer flashed the X sign and the EMT's came down to the ring. Jericho broke character by going down to speak to Edge and asking him if he was okay. Jericho seemed very worried about Edge’s condition. A Stretcher was brought out for Edge, however he managed to get up by himself and the refs carried him backstage. After the show as Edge was leaving the arena he was being helped out by Rhyno in a wheel chair. Christian, and the Coach also helped Edge into his car with Rhyno.

The following rumor came up once before, and there appeared to be no backing to it, however, 1Wrestling.com is once again carrying the story. - There is a rumor going around that WWE has been contacting wrestlers to be a part of a modern reincarnation of the Nation Of Domination faction. A wrestling writer by the name of Ron Jordan claims that WWE writers are hard-at-work recruiting current and ex-WWE wrestlers to be a part of the group. Again, take this as a mere rumor for now, because there is certainly no backstage confirmation available.

With Brock Lesnar's NFL future looking bleak, the rumors are already spreading that Brock Lesnar may make a WWE return. Even though the general word from backstage was that Lesnar would not rush right into the company, if he ever returns to WWE, 1Wrestling.com reports the mixed backstage reaction to the possibility of a Lesnar return. Says one wrestler: "He walked out on us when we needed him, why would we want him back?" However, there is another side arguing in favor of showing interest in re-signing Lesnar, "You never really burn bridges in this business, and if makes good business sense to bring him back, that's what we should do," obviously implying WWE's need to take advantage of his publicity from NFL training camp. Again, there is no talk of a Brock Lesnar return, but it is quite evident that the lockerroom reaction to a return would be extremely polarized.

According to a good amount of sources within WWE, it appears there is great concern for Eddie Guerrero at this time. Many say Guerrero is showing signs of stress and breaking down from both in-ring and matters he has been dealing with outside of the ring. It is being said that Guerrero is being very hard on himself for some financial mistakes he has made and believes his recent run as WWE Champion was a failure due in part to low ratings and attendance. Eddie is 37 years old and it just seems his body is starting to feel the pain.

In a piece of breaking news, we can reveal that Brock Lesnar has been cut from the Minnesota Vikings. Dan Patrick reported the cut on ESPN Radio just minutes ago. Lesnar, former WWE Champion, left World Wrestling Entertainment following his match with Goldberg at WrestleMania this past March with intentions to try out for the NFL. The Vikings were the primary goal for the Minnesota native, who won over the team's coaches with his work ethic. The general feeling was that Lesnar wouldn’t be able to play at the level of others who had continued to pursue a football career when he focused on his amateur and professional wrestling endeavors. However, The St. Paul Pioneer Press in Minnesota is reporting that Lesnar still has a chance to be added to the Viking's practice squad once final cuts are made this week.

Despite his release from the Minnesota Vikings, former WWE champion Brock Lesnar isn't done with football yet. His agent Ed Hitchcock spoke to ESPN.com about Lesnar's release. "[Brock is] committed to this long-term," Hitchcock said. "He's realistic about what it takes to develop. There are players who've played this game all their lives who take a couple of years to develop [in the NFL]." The ESPN.com article also notes that Lesnar is hopeful to play for the Vikings' practice squad or over in NFL Europe.

There has been a lot of talk about the "Diva Search" segment on Raw last night. For those who didn't see, the four finalists were asked to cut insulting promos on each other, which resulted in some of the strongest profanity ever used on a wrestling program. There was so much profanity used that even the censor could not bleep all the words. The consensus on the segment was that the language used was inappropriate for the show, however, many also noted that it definitely had the desired impact and made the Diva Search segment interesting. This in itself is notable as the general reaction to the Diva Search thus far has been very negative.
