When Chavo gets the same response as the Undertaker and nobody is standing up or looks like their making noise, I get worried
Subtemperate
Jan 25 2005, 05:05 AM
lol...yes that would be worrying......
I dont think they edit the sound that much, because if so there are so many dead crowd moments they should fill....
AtticusBlueprint
Jan 25 2005, 06:07 AM
It's not as obvious on Smackdown but I still notice it, Sunday Night Heat and Velocity are terrible for editing though

On the best wrestler of all-time:
"I love and respect Ric Flair, but I'm going to have to say Triple H. He has the total package and is the best there has ever been."
Now I like HHH probably more then most internet people seem to, but he is NOWHERE near the best of all time......
Seraphina
Jan 25 2005, 01:18 PM
No, the Triper is not...although I do think he's pretty good. Although is performances really slipped for the best of two or three years, he's been on the rise again lately....I don't grudge his constant main event spots lately (although, obviously, I'd rather he wrestled more than he talked). But he is NOT the best of all time...I wouldn't even consider him in the top ten.
Subtemperate
Jan 25 2005, 01:22 PM
Exactly Sera.....
Comparing him to say...Bret Hart... and saying he's better makes me wanna take away their steroids...
Seraphina
Jan 25 2005, 01:26 PM
You can count the people who were in the same league as Bret Hart on a single hand, let alone anyone who might have been better than him.
Potential bests of all time (in no particular order): Bret Hart, Chris Benoit, Shawn Michaels, Ricky Steamboat, Ric Flair, anyone with Guerrero as their second name, and Stone Cold deserves a mention too. Anyone wanna add to that?
Subtemperate
Jan 25 2005, 01:31 PM
I do have to count on one hand often, as the other is busy...with the mouse.....
Back onto wrestling.... apparantly the rock wanted to face Sting at Wrestlemania.....
Seraphina
Jan 25 2005, 01:32 PM
Sting...never saw him wrestle. I've heard he was over, but left a bit to be desired in the ring. Although, that match would probably be great simply because of sheer drawing power.
Subtemperate
Jan 25 2005, 01:36 PM
Sting was all about image. His wrestling wasnt bad, just not "great" he certainly was better then most of the roster in WWE nowdays, however he is really old.....
although if sting did more then one program it would be ok..... Not just putting the rock over, or the rock losing to him.... Sting vs HHH would be cool
Seraphina
Jan 25 2005, 01:48 PM
Perhaps...if we didn't already know that Tripe H was gonna win it

or, if he did lose, he'd have the title back next month
Subtemperate
Jan 25 2005, 01:52 PM
Hey, don't knock HHH...without him holding the title...Jericho, Benoit or someone else would beWorld Champion...and then where would we be?
Seraphina
Jan 25 2005, 01:59 PM
in a happy place?
Subtemperate
Jan 25 2005, 02:01 PM
Dont be silly..... Jericho and Benoit should be traded to smackdown and competing for the Cruiserweight belts....
Seraphina
Jan 25 2005, 02:03 PM
are they even cruiserweights?
Subtemperate
Jan 25 2005, 02:07 PM
Jericho could be.... Im sure benoit would be, if he lost a few pounds....
I mean Billy Kidman supposedly is, hes not small.....
Seraphina
Jan 25 2005, 02:10 PM
Kidman looks smaller than Jericho to me...much smaller. Chris put on a bit of weight lately too.
Subtemperate
Jan 25 2005, 02:11 PM
Matt Hardy is 3 inches taller then Jericho, and is pretty big, and was when he won the title.....
Subtemperate
Jan 25 2005, 02:27 PM
What am I getting at....oh.... they are just as big as the WWE tell you they are.... so they could make them smaller without anyone actually arguing....
Seraphina
Jan 25 2005, 04:37 PM
True...I doubt very much that Matt was anywhere near the weight limit when they called him a cruiserweight
AtticusBlueprint
Jan 25 2005, 06:23 PM
What is the cruiserweight limits, isn't it supposed to be under 220?
Seraphina
Jan 25 2005, 06:41 PM
I think so...either that, or 225. It was definately 225 back when Dean Malenko was the champ years ago (remembers because they had an angle on Heat where Christian, at the start of the show, wanted a title shot. Weighing 226, he was forced by Mick Foley to lose a pound by the end of the night...the show then cut back to him every so often as he went about doing so with some rather....odd...methods, with cumulated in running around in a chicken suit.)
The end result was that he was so exhausted, Dean beat him with a surprise small package in a few minutes
Subtemperate
Jan 25 2005, 09:22 PM
Either 215 or 225.... One of those .....
AtticusBlueprint
Jan 25 2005, 09:25 PM
Well if it's 225, that means Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, and RVD could go after the Cruiserweight title if they want
Subtemperate
Jan 25 2005, 09:27 PM
Well, Eddie was the cruiserweight champ at WCW for a while, as was Jericho so that makes sense....
AtticusBlueprint
Jan 25 2005, 09:28 PM
Eddie's buffed up alot since his days in WCW, I dout that he's 220
Seraphina
Jan 25 2005, 09:33 PM
RVD and Eddie are cruiserweights (if not, they're only JUST over the limit). Kurt definately isn't...if the WWE website still says he's 220 something, then it's very out of date.
Subtemperate
Jan 25 2005, 09:33 PM
Pffft....Sera always beats me...
AtticusBlueprint
Jan 25 2005, 09:38 PM
Yup it still says Kurts 220, same with Eddie and RVD, which I'm still questioning, I picture guys like London, Akio, Nunzio more fit cruiserweights, even Billy Kidman and Chavo are pretty big for cruisers
Subtemperate
Jan 25 2005, 09:42 PM
Yeah, and it seems to think Kidman is 195. There is no way there is 40lbs difference between Kidman and Jericho..... THat the difference between RVD and HHH for gods sake....
Seraphina
Jan 25 2005, 09:45 PM
In fairness, Kidman always struck me as more fat than muscle...he could well be a lot lighter than he looks if he's put next to another guy around his size, who has a lot of muscle composition.
Subtemperate
Jan 25 2005, 09:47 PM
Big Show is more fat then muscle.... (too tired to even conceive having any sort of point)
Seraphina
Jan 25 2005, 09:51 PM
True, and if he had more muscle, he'd probably weight something like 600lbs

(and be dead)
AtticusBlueprint
Jan 25 2005, 09:51 PM
That he does, that he does...I wouldn't say Kidman has more fat then muscle, I think he's just more bulky, less lean muscle, but if I compaired Kidman too someone like, lets say, Doug Basham, I would think they are about the same size, even though Doug is 240.
Subtemperate
Jan 25 2005, 09:55 PM
....I find it hard to beleive Kidman is only about 15-20lbs heavier then Rey..... I just do....

Apparently, while on the set taping an episode of the WB's "Blue Collar TV" show, Jeff Jarrett was injured when a splinter flew into his eye after he performed the guitar shot on one of the local wrestlers used in the segment.
Jarrett was treated and released from a local Atlanta emergency room last night following the taping.
The injury doesn't appear to be serious, but Jarrett had previously underwent lasik surgery so he was taken to the emergency room last night as a precautionary measure.
The show however went well, and all TNA stars involved were asked to return later in the season for another skit on the show. For those wondering, representing TNA at the taping were Jeff Jarrett, A.J. Styles, Abyss, Don West, and Jeremy Borash.
lol, you suck Jerrett!

In a report just breaking courtesy of Susan Young and InsideBayArea.com, it has been learned that UPN will not be renewing the contract for WWE Smackdown when it is up next year.
That was in keeping with the news that UPN is going for respectability in the future, and in that future there's no room for senseless degrading of the Amish or for smackdowns.
That's right. There's only one year left on the contract for World Wrestling Federation's "Smackdown!" and the network has decided to let it go.
"It still makes us a decent amount of money," says Leslie Moonves, co-president and co-chief operating office for Viacom, which owns both CBS and UPN. "When you think about the powerhouses of CBS and NBC on Thursday night, it's great counter-programming. (But) it doesn't fit into the overall (programming) strategy."
More on this developing story will be available as it comes in, but right now this can not possibly be a good sign for the WWE and it makes you wonder what will happen to the Smackdown Brand if no network is willing to take the show.
Why do I hear .... Rest.....in.....peace

According to WrestlingObserver.com reporter Dave Meltzer, and an exclusive tip sent in to this reporter, there is nothing to the reports of SmackDown's cancellation. The network has not made any decisions regarding the show's renewal and the future of the program is hardly in jeopardy.
While UPN could indeed be planning to move in a different direction come the expiration of WWE's contract, WWE has not been informed of a cancellation and is not "scrambling" to find a new network, as some reports might suggest.
As for the statement from the Viacom executive, chances are it was taken out of context. No other outlet that ran a story on the TCA Press Tour even mentioned the SmackDown! quote, meaning the reporter behind the story misinterpreted the information.

Jan 27 2005, 09:00 AM
If Smackdown still makes a decent amout on money for that network, the I imagine they wouldn't have to go too far to find another place willing to take the show, assuming that the story's true.
Hopefully though, if it is true, it'll be a kick in the nuts for the WWE, and they'll realise that they should be taking the show back to wrestling, where it belongs, instead of a tasteless soap opera with fighting.

Yeah...besides, who wants to live across the road from the couple you did! I mean...geez...that woman who put a vodoo curse on her sister in law, because she was jealous due to her twisted fantasies about her brother...
Of course, then it turned out he wasn't her brother at all, but he'd been switched at birth! Her real, long lost brother, was in fact her ex-husband, who lived on the other side of town, with their two kids. However, he hadn't been seen for some time, after he went on an expition into the heart of Africa, and brought back a mysterious cursed diamond.

Ah, what about that guy down the street who died....only to step out of the shower a few years later, revealing that everything we thought had happened, had actually been his dream, and that he was alive and well....
Or at least he was alive and well, until he discovered his dog was channeling the spirit of his long dead grandmother, and evil woman, who locked children in her basement and starved them.

I know it was hoprrible...and to think one of those children gave his uncle a concrete grave, that same uncle that was stabbed in a bar fight but made a full recovery within a week, only to have no charges laid at all as the police were to busy looking for the man who physically attacked his blind girlfriend..... who had implants...

All this shortly before a rash of sasquatch sightings turn out to be a crazy man in the forest, running around killing people with a crowbar. Further investigations reveals him to be the evil, long lost twin brother, of someone in the neighbourhood's cousin's friend's brother's roommate's ex girlfriend's sister's boyfriend!

I cant forget, especially after he caused that girl to lose her baby, you know the one that was only having sex with the guy as a bribe to protect her boyfriend, that same boyfriend who later attacked an old lady,to feel tough and through her through the table...The same table that Georges sisters friends cousins Paul ate Ice Cream off before he was buried alive...
Seraphina
Jan 27 2005, 10:39 AM
Yeah! And what about that guy who got run over! And then went about trying to find out who'd done it, only to get his revenge...and find out that the mastermind behind the whole thing was actually this guy who was really popular, and everyone liked!
....actually...that storyline was quite good...*ponders*...
Um...how about that guy who got buried alive, and was quite certainly dead...only to come back to life, and start going after his brother, who was one of the people who killed him!
Subtemperate
Jan 27 2005, 10:42 AM
Oh yes that was tops, until the brother revealed he was not scarred from the fire that his brother had lit, and therefore had little more reason to attack his brother then the man who got caught cheating on his wife with a younger women had reason to attack his wife who ended up in a wheelchair in a mental hospital, only when home and weak she was preyed on by that arrogant guy who showed up out of the blue...
