Feb 13 2005, 08:39 PM
Well, it's purely to peruse the art of the form, you see. That and some 'me' time.
You know what I think the best main event at Wrestlemania would be? John Cena and Batista, seeing that they seem to be the two most popular performers right now. That would up the buy rate.
Subtemperate
Feb 13 2005, 10:45 PM
As much as I would be interested to see that match..... It could only detract from one of them. Neither have held the world title as of yet, so they haven't reached the top of the talent on their own show.... To face them off against each other puts one forward in a huge way, but the other will ahve lost to someone who isnt even the best on the other show (Through the average viewer eyes).... That and the fact I doubt they would actually have a good match....
If both held the title, and lost it.... within the next 8 months or so....then I could see a match at next years wrestlemania a possiblity....
But for now we have HHH vs Batista and Cena vs JBL....
AtticusBlueprint
Feb 14 2005, 12:34 AM
Yeah, it wouldn't be good for Batista, because John Cena is more over then Batista right now, and Batista needs to be cheered not booed.

it was just a thought, and would be much better than a diva pillow fight...
Subtemperate
Feb 14 2005, 12:40 AM

That i dont disagree with.
Snuffs feel assured that that particular match would be far better then at least 3/4 of the matches we will get... So dont get too upset...lol

I was just saying, take the most popular guys from each show, and... ah screw it

Actually I'd like to see John Cena vs HHH at least once.
Subtemperate
Feb 14 2005, 12:46 AM

but then on the flipside of the coin we would get:
Most hated on each show: HHH vs JBL
Most Underappreciated: jericho vs London (hey....actually...)
Most overappreciated: Snitsky vs Heidenrich (oh dear god no)
.... Now Im 50/50 in favour of it...lol

resources to pool, too. Oh well, it's always nice to dream

You can't say enough about a promotion believing it can improve it's standing by bringing in delusional egomaniacs a decade past their primes. It's good business sense, really, it is
Subtemperate
Feb 14 2005, 04:59 AM
Yes, those characters on WWE tv that no-one gave a damn about so they were either fired or not picked up after their contracts ran out...You have to hire them, because an audience will obviously want to see on one show, what they didnt on the other...wont they?
snuffypuffer
Feb 14 2005, 05:07 AM
Oh of course, I mean, just because people don't want to see Scott Hall stumble around and mutter incoherently on WWE doesn't mean he can't be a viable performer and put on a good show. They just weren't putting him in the right angles, to stumble around and mutter incoherently in.

Feb 14 2005, 05:10 AM

And of course...who would not wnt to miss the world title match of Di Lo vs Jeff Jarret. It was great when it was for the European title in WWE, so of course we want to see that world title match....

Feb 14 2005, 05:23 AM
You got it, the road to success is to put on matches that nobody wanted to see the first time, but make them main events, and build your entire ppv around them. Yes, people will buy that.

Feb 14 2005, 05:29 AM

How long have Sting and WWE been in talks for?
Subtemperate
Feb 15 2005, 05:44 AM
At least 2 years. In an interview last year he said that he and WWE had come to a verbal agreement as to him joining, and he was to drop from the ceiling after the Goldberg/Lesner match and attack Austin, leading to a Austin/Sting fued..... But he claims that once the lawyers got involved everything fell through....

To be honest, I never got to watch much WCW....But what did turn me on to it was seeing a video that my brothers friend lent us with a couple of PPV's on it... and in one of them Sting dropped from the ceiling and such....It was so different to what I had seen I was instantly wanting to see more....

QUOTE
SportsTalkCleveland.com interviewed Big Show and John Cena yesterday and when Paul Belfi asked Show about his thoughts on Lesnar filing a lawsuit and a possible return to WWE, he had the following to say:
SHOW: You know what, I'm gonna tell you something. Brock, listen to me because I'm telling you the truth from the heart - I'm pissed at you. I did a lot for him when I came over to Smackdown. I worked hurt with herniated discs in my back, chewing vicodins like they were M&Ms just so I could stand up straight and get to the ring, to do my match, to take an F-5 or a belly-to-belly or whatever I had to do to get him over, because he was gonna be our man. Whatever got in his head, to turn his back, which he did, on a multi-million dollar contract, had everything he wanted, EVERYTHING HE WANTED, and he got it fast. Great work ethic, tremendous in the ring, a natural at understanding psychology, executing moves and just being a freak of nature in the ring. Brock was all that and a bag of chips, there's no doubt about it. To see him go pull some goofball stunt and go play football, it really showed a tremendous amount of lack of respect to the guys in the locker room because when we needed him...
BELFI: He wasn't there.
SHOW: I had to have knee surgery. I had worn my kneecap down to the bone and when Brock left I had to work an extra two months so I could get somebody over, I don't know who it was, (John Cena laughs) so I could leave to go get knee surgery. He dumped all that on everybody. Just the attitude of he wants this, he wants that, he only wants to work a certain amount of dates. Honestly, my personal opinion, hey we had a great run with him, and we don't need him. We can work around him. To give him the red carpet treatment again, hell no.

Feb 16 2005, 03:30 AM
Well if he does ever get a chance to return hes not going to be the most popular guy backstage!
Seraphina
Feb 16 2005, 03:37 AM
No...Brock was one hell of a worker, but he was famous for being elitist (and his idea of what was "elite" didn't sit too well with me...the fact that he could complain about losing the title to Eddie, who's far better in the ring than Brock...)
When he left, I remember being really angry at the way he was treated by the fans...but that was back when I thought he was just trying to "follow his dream", and see if he had a chance with football before he got past his prime...looking at the way he's behaved since, I have to agree with the Big Show.
He's discredited wrestling at every turn, and tried to disassociate himself with it...he's even been an ass to the very fans who got him to where he was to begin with. I've gone from wishing him luck, and hoping he comes back, to thinking he's a complete pratt.

Feb 16 2005, 03:40 AM
Out of all the people I got information from.... Goldberg before he was with the WWE was asked about him, and he pointed out that in a amatuer wrestling magazine when Brock was still in college Brock was interviewed and stated that he would never be caught dead in WWE, because it was a total joke and he was above that.....
Why would you want to hire someone who had that idea in the firstplace....
snuffypuffer
Feb 16 2005, 05:05 PM
Because a person like that comes with a certain amount of buzz, and, like an abused woman, WWE thought they could "change him." Personally, I think this whole debacle shows an extreme lack of character on Brock's part and they shouldn't hire him back, even if they were desperate.
Subtemperate
Feb 16 2005, 09:39 PM
Yeah, nothing would prove to the world more then the WWE is a joke then hiring someone who worked for you, quit.... verbally abused you in public, in the papers and TV..... and then you hire him back.
snuffypuffer
Feb 17 2005, 06:00 AM
