yea i know you can pin someone after you spear them (how i dont know its happened to me in football and you just pop right back up) but you cant pin someone when you give them a ddt which should knock you out cold

Well that depends, Funaki uses a tornado DDT as his finsiher (from what ive seen).....
Its because the DDT is a good move to do, one that the crowd can "feel" and give the wrestlers some time to get some breath and plan what to do next.... and due to the fact almost everyone can do one, it would loose its appeal as a finsher....

I think Powerbombs are still good looking moves, all except Nash's, Nash's looks weak and always has.
Subtemperate
Feb 25 2005, 12:08 AM
I dont mind nashs..... I think the big guys who do them have a tendency to be more gentle, considering what can go wrong falling from such a height..... Sid's was always him planting the guy on the ground.... (from what I can remember)...... The smaller guys do them really well to each other, but big guys have a tendency to be too gentle with the move (for it to look gentle anyhow, in a match where your trying to hurt your opponent)......

Vader had a nasty one... Broke a mans back with it once.
Sid's was nastier before he went to WWF in the mid 90's.
Taker has a pretty good one, when he lifts the guy up higher, it looks good.
Batista's sit down version is pretty harsh looking as well...
I wouldn't wanna take any of them.
Subtemperate
Feb 25 2005, 12:37 AM
....And dont take one from Di Lo.....
Undertakers is good, but again he doesn't tend to bring them down hard.
Vaders.... I can't remember.....
Batistas is good, but sitdowns tend to always look better as there is more impact made.....

So today, Shady bought Rumble Roses. Much of my day has been watching him play (all the while like this I might add

) half naked girls, putting each other in holds....
The plot seems to be that some evil lunatic has staged a wrestling tournament, so that they can gather DNA for the greatest wrestlers in the world to create a super cyborg soldier (which you have to fight add the end).
Sideplots include the main character having to fight her hypnotised sister, a girl joining the tournament to get revenge on her high school rival, and a character from Mongolia who speaks in the third person, with a thick american accent, and poor grammar.
Overall, I'm pretty sure the plot was written by the WWE
Talon

Yes, but the real question is 'how does it play?'
Seraphina
Feb 25 2005, 01:45 AM
Kinda like Smackdown, only the animation is better, and with the Big Show, Triple H and the Road Warriors included, Smackdown has a higher average cup size.

Actually that reminds me of ECW and raven much....
Half naked girls putting each other in holds you say....... *silent*

Let's not forget that the main villain is a blatant, and unnaturally highly sexed, lesbian

The WWE has most certainly had a hand in this.

The game engine is fantastic though...and with every girl on the roster having wrestling ability somewhere between Rey Mysterio and Kurt Angle, I wish the WWE would hire them

I could put up with the lame plots to see them wrestle.

Between Rey and Angle? So they are Reygle?

Interesting...I might check this game out.....

At last night's UPW Show, Frankie Kazarian confirmed his decision to sign a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. Kazarian left NWA-TNA last week after working for several months without a contract.
According to PWTorch.com, Kazarian will be moved straight to the main WWE roster for his debut and not OVW. Although he may utilize the OVW facility for a few weeks to prepare for his debut, Kazarian's contract is for the main roster and he will appear on WWE's TV shows in the near future.

All pictures of Matt Hardy's supposed real-life girlfriend Amy "Lita" Dumas have been removed from his website.
Hardy was asked by fans via his message board why this was the case and he responded:
"I asked Kirby to temporarily take all pictures of Amy off the website for now. If you happen to run into Amy at an appearance, I think you should ask her why her pictures have been taken down."
Hardy and Dumas have been a couple for years now but Hardy noted the past few days had been "rotten" for him in another post.

From my experience in the few TNA shows I've watched, their guys have a lot of flashy moves....but having flashy moves doesn't make them good, just flashy. The guys with the moves all had zero concept of how to pace and conduct a match, and the guys that did (Raven for example) had zero moves

Then there's D-Lo Brown, who had just one very lonely flashy move, had no idea how to put a match together, and just gets strangely marked out for by smarks

Granted, the TNA shows I've seen were from a good while ago...this guy might be an exception.
Subtemperate
Feb 25 2005, 02:17 AM
You only learn to pace a match correctly by being in with the best, so that they can learn..... I liked a few of their wrestlers in TNA when I saw it....even if they are only flashy, maybe thats what the WWE needs to realise that people will watch cruiserweights....

It appears that Tommy Dreamer is in charge of contacting former ECW superstars to see if they would be willing to take part in the WWE's upcoming "ECW: One Night Stand" PPV at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on June 12th, 2005. Dreamer, who has resumed his old mangement role that he had in ECW with Paul Heyman, has talked to several people, including former ECW Champion The Sandman. No word yet on if any of them have express interest, but there are some reports that say the WWE is trying to get these former ECW performers for their PPV in an effort to prevent them from working on the ECW reunion show that former WWE/WCW/ECW Superstar "The Franchise" Shane Douglas is organizing for the Friday before the PPV on June 10th at the famous ECW Arena.

The PWTorch Newsletter is reporting a story about Amy Weber blaming Randy Orton's conduct as one of the primary reasons for her consideration of a lawsuit against WWE. According to one exclusive source, Randy Orton teased Amy about her back injury during her final plane ride with the WWE crew. No word on whether or not his harassment was more serious than that.
Orton is known for questionable action on the road, including showing the boys pictures of women with whom he hooked up. Management feels Orton is in desperate need of an attitude change.
Maven, who is one of Orton's good friends, was reportedly not involved in any incident with Weber.

That's the thing though.....TNA had a lot of guys (about three quarters of their roster) that were loaded with potential, but were greener than the Big Show's hankie while he's got a cold. On the other hand, they had a lot of guys who were very experienced, but on the downhill slop of their careers that could, in theory, be great mentors and ring generals to give the younger guys some experience in practice.
On the other hand, it also wanted guys like Kevin Nash and Scott Hall who, though certainly experienced, hadn't improved a bit since before they knew what wrestling was

The problem was that TNA had a bad habit of keeping its older and experienced workers at the top of the card (where only the guys who were on their way out in a few years anyway had any chance of getting heat), and the rookies stuck in the rest of the card putting on matches that were just glorified spot fests, with a few exceptions like AJ Styles.
So these guys never get any direction, and just waste away their youth, and their potential, without getting a chance to reach the levels they could

*puts him in her toe lock until he admits her superiority

You know, even the deadweight in the WWE could be an asset to the show if they were just used properly....take the example I had earlier of Batista, where he was made the big scary "enforcer" of evolution for a while to get experience, and to get over...
Wouldn't it have been nice if guys like Snitsky, or Heidenreich were put into that position (for a start, it would have given us a chance to see they were terrible before they were thrust into main event storylines), instead of having a ball thrown to them that they're incapable of catching, let alone carrying?
Heidenreich for example, is a big, scary guy....he would have worked far better as Paul Heyman's (seldom wrestling on tv) bodyguard, while Heyman attempted to put over someone who was actually worth the effort. The connection with Heyman would have worked just as well to get Heidenreich heat with the crowd (just as the connection with Kurt did for Luther Reigns, although Reigns isn't quite as hopeless in the ring as Heidenreich).

*Subby enjoys the toelock...*
Totally agreed....In fact your stealing my ideas.....
The enforcer thing for heyman was only just done, with Nathan Jones and Matt Morgan....So I can see why they backed away from doing it again, although I feel maybe they could have found another way....
Seraphina
Feb 25 2005, 02:37 AM
Ah, but that was hardly an enforcer gimmick...that was an entire stable of "big guys" (as coined by Cena: Team Sasquatch). Brock Lesnar was the only guy in that group with any half decent wrestling skills, and one guy can't carry a stable that's in the spotlight of the main event storyline.
The stable really should have been broken up a bit...with either Morgan and Jones being the bodyguard figure, and the other being sent elsewhere (A-Train, of course, is utterly irrelevant).
Subtemperate
Feb 25 2005, 02:41 AM
But to begin with, HHH was the only guy with half decent skills in Evolution (unless you count flair....)
So the other faction had two enforcers...... that in itself is ok.... As long as you have a good storyline involving them.....
Seraphina
Feb 25 2005, 02:44 AM
You kinda have to count Flair, since for a long time Evolution was just Triple H, Flair and Batista....then Orton came back...then Batista got injured

They were like a tag team for a while

I shall assume you are correct, and Jeff was not active in the wrestling world at that time (although surely he was Will-o-the-whisp by then?). If he was merely a backward wrestler....opps...sorry...backyard wrestler, I should say

then I assume he needed a job anyway, to fund his supply of ladders.

*wonders if Jeff clocked up more air miles during his matches than he did while traveling*
And no, I always hated Jeff....even back before I was into wrestling enough to really understand what a spot monkey was, I always thought Matt was the far stronger member of the team. Jeff was, to be, the homeless guy that Matt tagged in every so often to jump off tall objects.

Note.... I like Jeff jumping off things occassionally..... Tis what made Mick Foley over with the more mainstream fans.... So it does have its place....
Seraphina
Feb 25 2005, 03:07 AM
Mick didn't take bumps as a matter of course....Mick took a bump to make a match mean something, and to make it remembered. Today, people still remember when Mick fell off the hell in the cells....nobody remembers any specific ladder dive by Jeff, because he did it so often that it became utterly meaningless.
Mick understood how to use voilence properly in a match, and when it was the right time to make the crowd chant "holy sh*t". Jeff didn't...the only thing he knew was that gravity was his mortal enemy.
But anyway, I never saw the attraction in him anyway...he did look like he was homeless

he was unwashed, unshaven, wore the same sweat caked clothes everytime he came to the ring, had enough grease in his hair to get a job at McDonalds as a deep fat fryer, and couldn't even keep to the same hideous colour of hair dye for more than a week at a time.
