There is a big difference between them saying the work enviroment was horrible, and them saying they were held down.
The fact of the matter is that Jericho, and all the rest, don't just say the work enviroment was bad, they say they were held down by established stars, and that claim is a crock.
Truth is, the work enviroment these days in WWE is apparently no better, only difference being they can speak directly to the owner... Jericho is definately being held down, his head is definately being pressed against the glass ceiling, everyone knows it, he knows it, but where are his comments about being held down there? He isn't making them because he's getting a paycheck from them. Of the 2 champions, 1 is the owners son-in-law, the other is a loyal WWE employee with little to no main event level talent who is simply getting a reward for loyalty.
I don't argue the work enviroment claims, claims regarding management, and how none of them knew what they were doing, everyone who has had anything to do with WCW in it's best years and it's dying days has said it, WCW was a horrible company to work for, even Bishoff says he knew the end was coming when he was finding himself in WCW meetings with executives who knew nothing about wrestling, it was WCW's moronic management that put the title on Arquette, not Russo. But when Jericho, Foley, Austin, H, Regal, Malenko, when these guys cry they were held down in WCW, it's a crock... In fact some, like Triple H, were gone before all the management problems started in WCW, which happened when WCW was on top and all the Time Warner executives wanted to put their hands in the pot... Triple H is a bald faced liar when it comes to WCW, he has 2 different stories to tell, in one he says he had to get out of WCW because he was being held down and the management was all over the place, not the case, Bishoff was THEE man in charge of the day to day decision making there, and he was green, in the other story he says he always aspired to be in the WWF, so when his contract WCW expired he tried out for Vince, it all depends on which day it is, cause Triple H still tells these 2 different stories. Austin, claims he was held down also, says Bishoff ignored his ideas, he even claimed that the Stone Cold character was one of them, nonsense, his ex wife came up with it, it wasn't even him, and it was well into his WWF Ringmaster run... His brilliant idea in WCW was to have himself tag team with Hogan in another Hollywood Blondes gimmick, the one he did with Pillman.
Hell, Benoits issues with WCW, when he asked for his release, wasn't even WCW management itself... His problems were with Kevin Sullivan being the head booker, that is why the belt was just handed to him. He had a problem with it because he was affraid Sullivan would screw him, since they had a feud a couple years before that, and Benoit STOLE SULLIVANS WIFE in real life during it. That's a case of Benoit helping to make his own problems in the company! Truthfully though, Benoit was getting that title shot even before Sullivan was made the head booker.
Of course WCW was a bad company to work for, but these guys embellish it a bit when it comes to the claims of being held down by management and other wrestlers.

If you can claim that Jericho and co are being held down by HHH, then the same claims can be made for WCW where only a couple of guys held the title for most of the years....... All "big" names......
Jericho like many other wrestlers do not class the gold as the only thing as being pushed, they state that the amount of time they get to be on TV and PPV is how they are pushed. Jericho obviously would be upset not being in the title picture, but he even had a huge hand in his long fued/storyline with christiand which he claimed to enjoy so much..... In WWE I think youll find the majority of talent do get a big say in their storylines, despite the glass ceiling.....
RVD spoke out about being kept back, hes in WWE...... others have also said such, such as Stone COld saying HHH was a failure before coming back.... WWE employees dont automtically get a script to read from......
Paul Heyman whilst under WWE contract was critical on many things, so you cant claim that Just because they are getting paid they will keep quiet about it. i do beleive they are less likely to say some things obviously if they are getting paid well, but if there are drastic things wrongi would be sure the majority would say something......
I dont disagree that its easy to kick a dog when its down, but unless you and I are actually there we are both in the same position where it is impossible to fully understand the situation and make a proper judgement.....

I left for much longer than five minutes. I'm sure there are lots of reasons people don't get pushed in WWE and other promotions. Much of it may have nothing at all to do with in ring ability or being over with the fans. Running a wrestling business, and trying to keep everyone happy while putting out a decent product is infinitely harder than we probably imagine.

Exactly, and when you're dealing with several large egos working in the same place, someone's bound to complain. Whether the work environment is good or not.
Now that I've read things through. Yes, Subby, you may sign Sera. She will be the face of Snuffy/Subby Championship Wrestling. Can you imagine her coming to the ring and cutting a promo in a well tailored business suit? Our plans would go down a lot easier, when we have her reveal them...

Trish Stratus appeared on the UK's Radio 1 Friday afternoon. Notes from the interview, which was recapped by Stratus-Faction.com, are included below:
-- Trish put over Victoria for her role in helping revolutionize women's wrestling. She also gave Lita credit for having an integral role in getting the Trish-Lita feud so over with the fans.
-- Despite being labeled a 'slut' on TV, Trish says that she is not interest in posing for Playboy because she wants to keep the focus on her wrestling career. She wants to be known as a great women's champion, not a WWE wrestler who happened to appear in Playboy.

Former WWE and WCW World champion Bill Goldberg is interviewed in the latest edition of Alex Marvez' syndicated column, discussing his upcoming marriage to a stuntwoman he met on the set of "The Longest Yard", the film, and other topics including returning to professional wrestling.
"I'm not going to say I'm done, because in the right situation I would love to come back for my fans," Goldberg said to Marvez. "But in the wrong situation, I'll remain retired from now until the day I die because I'm not going to be a hypocrite and be part of something I'm not a big fan of."
When the possibility of working for TNA was brought up, Goldberg shot it down, saying that working for the company "isn't my idea of the pinnacle of the wrestling business."
-- Johnny Ace was reportedly the driving force behind the suggestion to sign Big Show vs. Akebono for WrestleMania 21. At this point, the likelihood of such a match occurring is not known, but it definitely was a suggestion on the table.
-- The idea for John Cena's spinning title was derived by Konnan, who had the idea submitted via Rey Mysterio.
-- Alexis Laree is now doing a cheerleader gimmick on OVW television.
-- Right now there is a lot of confidence in Rey Mysterio as a centerpiece star on Smackdown as the year progresses. WWE management is happy with his reliability, professionalism, and of course the big pops he always gets. Right now his physical size is less of an issue than ever before, but to a point it will still hold him back.
-- When Guerrero realized that there weren’t any plans for him at WrestleMania 21, that’s when he and Mysterio started talking. They came up with the idea of teaming up for a while then breaking up, leading to a singles match at WrestleMania. Management liked the idea, and right now the plan is to have Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero at WrestleMania.

Despite fears that he wouldn't get to attend the Madison Square Garden house show, Vince McMahon ended up attending the show in a wheelchair, with his feet taped and elevated. There was concern backstage that Vince would be forced to miss the show, even though missing MSG shows are a rarity for the WWE chairman.
In addition to Vince, Linda, Shane and Stephanie were also backstage.
There were over 10,000 fans, perhaps as many as 12-14,000, at last night's house show. That is definitely good news for WWE.

Nobody. Rey comes the closest, but at least he's a talented Spot monkey.

I think I have heard arguments for RVD being a spot monkey too, but I don't really agree
Talon
Feb 27 2005, 12:06 AM
Nahhh, RVD has some Spotmonkey qualities, but thats just his hardcore, flashy moves. However the rest of his technique is wreslting and he's decent at it. He's not a technical wrestler or a brawler, but he's no Spotmonkey.
Subtemperate
Feb 27 2005, 12:45 AM
I would class Rey as less of a spot monkey then RVD, because if you watch Rey in a match the matches can be much more adaptable with his opponent, and for example, his match with Kurt Angle a couple of weeks back, he can change his move set to suit his opponent. He does look more spotty around bigger opponents, but that is more because I beleive he needs to slow down so they can keep up...lol
Every wrestling move is a spot in my opinion, excpet chain wrestling as such, and Rey's matches with Eddie prove that hes capable of producing a full flowing match, rather then anything spot fested......
RVD isn't much different, although I dont think he has the time to change much of his style often, so you can almost tell what his match is going to be like in most cases before he's even started.....
But I love them both, and if either of them are classified as spot monkeys, then I will have to re-adjust my thinking....lol
