He was suspended from WCW when they came out here for a tour of Oz....for doing that....

That being said, he is (or at least was) really good in the ring to watch.
Talon
He's not going to take up the Naked Mideon gimmic is he?
Subtemperate
No....although he is far better looking (like thats hard)

Hes a cruiserweight.... so.... I doubt he'll be given much time to develop any type of chacter... lol
Talon
God I still can't beleive the WWE let itself lose Spanky
snuffypuffer
Personally, I thought Spanky was a tool with a weak ring persona...

LUCHADORES!!! I smile grin2.gif (Juventud is great!)
Mervyn
Don't get excited about any cruisers or luchadores joining the WWE, WWE will do nothing with them. sad.gif

As for spanky, he left the WWE when he realized he wasnt going anywhere, very smart move on his part.
snuffypuffer
True, but it is nice to dream.

Spanky still sucked, though. yes.gif
Subtemperate
It depends what you mean....

WWE seemingly have only used a lot of the cruisers that were over in WCW (apart from Noble and spike i suppose)

Chavo wasn't really misused, Rey apart from not having the titlte much hasnt been too misused..... Kidman, when fit, was used reasonably....

Its just that they dont seemingly like to build up those who aren't already known to us...

Muhammad Hassan was quite vocal on RAW, demanding entry into the Six-Way "Money in the Bank" Ladder Match on April 3. Hassan said the issue wasn't over. What will he plan to say or do this week? And one of the Ladder Match participants -- Kane -- was blindsided by Christian and Tyson Tomko last week. Will he respond in kind?

Will Hassan come into the match at the expense of someone?
Talon
I liked Spanky. I have still never seen a Hassan match.

To update further on Matt Hardy, he also posted a message this morning, in response to a visitors comment that he was wrong to discuss his personal relationship with Amy "Lita" Dumas online. Here is what Hardy has to say in relation to the comment, and his opinion on Edge:

Just for the record, I never told anyone the story in it's entirety until news sites on the internet started breaking the story (and there's still a ton of appalling things you guys don't know). I took down Amy's pictures on my site and in my house because they were sickening to look at. When the story started coming out, in no form or fashion was I going to allow myself to look like the bad guy. I couldn't afford personally or professionally to let incorrect versions of the story stand. I just wish you guys could have experienced the truth and saw what actually happen. You can take my word for what it's worth--in your eyes and heart. Adam Copeland is feces. As upset as I am with Amy now, I still care about her and I would hate to see her destroy her life. The feces' track record speaks for itself. I have never ask anyone to take sides, I have only told the truth.

I never "insulted the internet world", I only used one writer's article as an example of what not to do or be influenced by on the net. I love the internet concept--my goal is to always help make it better, not tear it down. If I remember correctly, my post was to ask people to make their own opinions based on the facts and their own judgments. Not to just take someone else's opinion as fact, especially if they're not an expert in a given field. The same thing goes for me--I give you information, and you decide what to do with it. I think my track record speaks for itself.

As a public figure, I willingly had to give up my privacy once I started appearing on TV week in and week out, as all WWE superstars do. There would be no "scandal" to talk about if there had not been a "scandal" in the first place. I respect you for speaking you opinion in an adult fashion, I just wanted to give you more insight of where I'm coming from. Be well,

Matt

Former ECW Champion Masato Tanaka, via an announcement in Japan, has confirmed an appearance at the ECW 'One Night Stand' PPV.

After defeating Mike Awesome, Tanaka won the title in December 1999. His reign came to an abrupt end when Awesome won the belt back just a few days later.

Tanaka also held the ECW tag titles with Balls Mahoney and Tommy Dreamer.

Thanks to Carrie Rich for sending this in:

I attended Raw in Atlanta tonight so I thought I'd send in some notes about the show.

Before the show the WWE history video set to "Lonely Road of Faith" aired. It had a WrestleMania theme. Major pops were for Hogan, Bret and Austin.

Dark Match:

Rhyno defeated Scott Vick. Major ECW chant for Rhyno.

Heat Matches:

Viscera defeated Simon Dean after Dean cut a promo ripping on fat people.

Oh god, Viscera's turning face no.gif Wasn't he awful enough

QUOTE
Chris Masters defeated Jimmy Rave.

Maven and Molly Holly defeated Val Venis and Victoria.

I'm not sure what all was caught on camera since I haven't watched my tape yet, but here are some other notes:

The crowd definitely turned on Orton after Jake came out. Their were major "DDT" chants.

When Tomko was taken to the back after the match with Kane, Tomko appeared to have been busted open. He was show on the Titan Tron with blood on his face.

When Edge was leaving the ring after his match with Benjamin he acknowledged a "You Screwed Matt" chant that was centered in a section near the stage. As he was leaving he looked over and mockingly pointed back at the fans.

There were huge pops for the Rockers reunion, especially for the simultaneous splashes over the top rope.

After the Benoit/Triple H match as Benoit was leaving, he received a near standing ovation and pounded his chest to acknowledge it.

After the cameras went off Bischoff came out and said that the crowd was promised a tag match and we were going to get it. He told Triple H to come back out. After a while he did the match was Triple H and Edge w/ Flair vs Batista and Shawn Michaels. Initially the post show dark match was announced as Triple H vs Batista vs Orton and last week on Raw there was a commercial announcing it as Triple H and Flair vs Batista and Orton. Triple H played the scared heel the entire match and wouldn't get in the ring to face Batista. Michaels got up on the ropes and flapped his arms in a "you're chicken" motion which caused Triple H to throw a hissy fit on the apron. The match went back and forth until Shawn got tossed to the floor and was repeatedly choked by Flair behind the ref's back. This brought out Jake Roberts with a snake around his neck. He chased Flair around the ring and laid the snake on him. This caused Flair to make a quick exit. Jake stayed at ringside the rest of the match. The match ended with Batista pinning Triple H after a Batista Bomb. Michaels then superkicked Triple H after he was distacted by the snake. Jake got in the ring and DDT'ed Triple H and then laid the snake on him. As Edge was leaving after this match he again acknowledged some "You Screwed Matt" chants by nodding his head with a smirk on his face.

Biggest Pops
Batista
Jake Roberts
Benoit
Rockers/HBK by himself
Jericho
Flair

Biggest Heat
Triple H
Edge
Snitsky
Orton after Roberts came out

is it going to be worth getting???

I haven't really been paying attention to whats been going on lately...

So Far . . .

World Title Match
Triple H vs. Batista

WWE Title Match
John Bradshaw Layfield vs. John Cena

Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit vs. Edge vs. Christian vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Kane

Winner gets a contract for a World Title within the Next twelve months ( Don't think they specified WHICH world Title)

WWE Women's Title Match
Trish Stratus vs. Christy Hemme

Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels

The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton

The Big Show vs. Akebono in a Sumo Wrestling match

Piper's Pit featuring "Stone Cold" Steve Austin

Rumored:

Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio

There are some good potential matches there, but not a lot of setup of most of the matches thus far, add to that the IC title will not be Defended, and they havent even mentioned Tag Titles or Cruiser yet , or US Title....

Although they've had fantastic commercials to hype this Mania . . there are a lot of weak storylines involved in some of these matches.

Personally I don't think Ill be getting this one . .
The Skeptic Eric Raven
Thought about getting it but the 49.95 price tag killed that. Unbelievable.
Mervyn
Well the Ladder Match, Angle/HBK Match, Batista/HHH matches should be decent , and the Bigshow/Akibono match should be fun in a novelty way . .

So Id order it if I could split the cost amongst some friends . .

say , 50 of them or so that would be worth it tongue.gif
AztecInca
49.95!!!! Geez, even down here its not that bad although if you got in ealry years ago it would only cost around $14.95!
snuffypuffer
Now, if it had a Stacy/Trish pillowfight deathmatch, with the winner getting to sit on my face lap, then maybe it would be worth it. laugh.gif
Subtemperate
Hmmmm....here I think its 29.95....

Considering its the same price for every other event we get..... and comparing the list of matches to most WWE events.... I would most likely get this one...

According to livaudiowrestling.com, TNA head honcho Jeff Jarrett is actually trying to reach out to The Rock in hopes of him perhaps doing something with TNA down the road. And amazingly enough, The Rock is a little receptive to the idea. At least he hasn't said "no" outright. Unfortunately, The Rock won't open up serious discussions until his current "Be Cool" promotional tour has concluded, which should be very soon.

If there is anyone that can take TNA to the next level, it's The Rock. You can be sure that TNA will do all they can to land "The Great One".

Hmmmm...what exactly would be in it for The Rock?
Mervyn
Simple, for the Same reason Hogan went to Japan last year..

Keep his name in the Wrestling world News.. Vince doesnt want TNA to have the Rock's Help ( well Duane Johnson's Help) so Vince just might Re-sign him.

Also the Rock may no longer be a wrestler (and Im not a big fan of his) but I believe he genuinely enjoys performing in the ring.. so why not ?

So he may just do it for the fun of it, or as a Favour to other wrestling "friends"
The Krow
Isn't the rock in the doom movie??? he's The Guy apparently...and he gets to use the BFG...

Wrestlemania sounds decent...If Rey vs. Eddie is on the card, I'd buy it for that match only...

Our first edition of "Rewriting Wrestling History" tackles a very touchy topic in the world of the Internet Wrestling Community. When Bradshaw did the Nazi salute at a German show, he unleashed a firestorm of controversy. WWE decided to ignore it and play it down. But what if... what if they didn't? What if the played it up, they could have had the greatest angle in history...

The date is June 10, 2004. The Smackdown after the debacle in Germany took place. WWE has been suggesting that Bradshaw will apologize for his actions. Bradshaw comes out solemnly and then enters the ring. He picks up the microphone and speak. However, he does not apologize for his actions, he instead plays footage of him saluting and goose-stepping. The audience boos loudly and Bradshaw responds by ripping off his shirt, revealing a tan Nazi officer shirt. He announces that not only will he be the WWE Champion, he will be the Führer of WWE and start a ten year dynasty.

On his WWE.com column, Bradshaw goes on a tirade, calling Internet smarks "useless eaters" and promoting a race of super hosses. When he returns the next week, Rene Dupree's Fifi pees on Bradshaw's Volkswagen Limo and Bradshaw chases off Rene, promising he won't forget how he was treated. Then he bumps into the FBI. The FBI butter up Bradshaw and they all come to the consensus that Smackdown revolves around the axis of the FBI and Bradshaw. Meanwhile on Raw, Eric Bischoff is fed up with William Regal's incompetence with the Eugene situation and Bischoff fires him. Angle is quick to sign Regal up.

Next week on Smackdown, the FBI take the Word Tag titles from Rico and Charlie Haas while JBL is in their corner. After the match, JBL gives particularly hard clotheslines from hell to both members. After a brief celebration, JBL states that it his mission to unify all title wearing peoples on Smackdown. During the show, ominous promos start airing for "Hirohito" on Smackdown.

At the Great American Bash, Bradshaw challenges Eddie Guerrero for the WWE Championship. Bradshaw is a bit hesitant about the match so he decides to bring in Nikolai Volkoff as his insurance policy. He promises that if Volkoff will help him win the title, he'll let Nick have Eddie's lowrider. Nikolai, still needing to pay off his debt to Ted DiBiase, accepts. Nikolai provides the distraction and Bradshaw wins the bullrope match for the WWE title.

On the following Smackdown, Rene Dupree and William Regal are disgusted at Bradshaw's action and call him out. Bradshaw accepts Dupree's challenge to a match later in the show. While Dupree is tying his boots up in the back, Bradshaw attacks him from behind with a steel chair and powerbombs him on the floor. The doctors stretcher him out and Bradshaw looks tries to find William Regal and take him down. Luckily, William Regal smuggles himself on Rene's ambulance and escapes unharmed.

Next week, Regal begs for Kurt Angle's help. Kurt says he would like to but being in a wheel chair and all, he can't help it. However, he will give him a one on one match with Leyfield under his rules. Regal decides to make it a Submission match and declares that he will never surrender to a Leyfield hold. Leyfield tries but William is too quick and maneuverable on the mat to keep up. Also, William Regal can always see where he's coming from. Eventually Bradshaw gives up and walks out on the match, letting it end in a count out.

The Following week, Bradshaw is irate over being stalemated by William Regal. He immediately blames Nikolai Volkoff and attacks him. The brawl erupts out into the arena. Chairs, tables, chains, you name it. Bradshaw dominates for a long time but then Nikolai Volkoff starts biting and Bradshaw can't get him off. Eventually, Bradshaw can take no more and retreats. William Regal continues to pester Angle to join him and Angle says he will consider it.

Hostilities are brewing high on the next episode. Nikolai and Regal manage to hold off Nunzio and Stamboli in a tag match and JBL decides to take the week off and focus on strategy. Meanwhile, John Cena takes the ring and is awaiting his opponent. Out of nowhere comes the debuting Hirohito. Hirohito destroys Cena and JBL comes out in support of his Japanese comrade. He announces that anyone who wants to fight with Hirohito, will fight with all of the Axis. Kurt Angle appears on the titantron. He says that Hirohito and the Axis will pay for their infamous actions and will not stand by as someone attacks the U.S. (Champion that is). JBL and Hirohito laugh off the cripple Angle. Angle is unaffected as he stands up from his wheel chair. Hirohito and JBL look on in shock as the show ends.

William Regal and Volkoff quickly rally behind Angle as Angle decides to get back in the ring. He decides to take on Hirohito one on one. Hirohito gladly accepts, claiming that his puro background will easily defeat Kurt Angle's lazy American wrestling style. The match goes off and Kurt Angle eventually wins. Kenzo escapes the ankle lock, however. Hirohito's rampage has been haulted.

On the next episode, William Regal convinces Angle to focus on Bradshaw and the FBI. Angle books a tag trios match with Regal, Angle & Volkoff against Nunzio, Stamboli & JBL. JBL does his best but Angle rallies his team mates and Angle pins Nunzio, causing Bradshaw to retreat. Angle makes plans for the next week, they will take on the weakest member of the alliance.

Two weeks until Summerslam and Angle and Regal decide to take the offensive. They set up a Tag Team Title match against the FBI. Regal and Angle are victorious thanks to the help of the recently returned Rene Dupree. Bradshaw and Hirohito try to get revenge but they are not enough when Nikolai Volkoff makes the save. There also appears to be some dissention among the FBI.

At the last show before Summer Slam, Angle challenges Bradshaw one on one for the WWE title. Angle takes a brutal pounding to start and it seems hopeless. Angle's determination keeps him going and eventually, he neutralizes JBL's offense. Angle goes for the Angle slam but JBL escapes and hits a low blow for the intentional disqualification. JBL crawls to the back as Angle gets up, determined to end this. Angle calls out Bradshaw and says that they should finish this off once and for all. At the PPV, War Games, winner takes all. JBL agrees and the match is set, The Axis of Smackdown (JBL, The FBI & Hirohito) vs. The Allies (Angle, Regal, Dupree & Volkoff).

Finally the day comes. There is a pre match meeting between the Allies, plotting what they will do once they win. Volkoff wants a shot at the WWE title and JBL's limo. Regal staunchly disagrees, knowing better when it comes to Volkoff. Angle manages to broker a deal, they all get a shot at the WWE title and Volkoff can have the limo. The match happens and the Axis hold off the Allies for a while but seems start showing. Johnny Stamboli turns on Nunzio and joins with the Allies, JBL lays down on the mat to eliminate himself and Angle takes out Hirohito with an atomic drop after Volkoff helps soften him up.

And so ends the angle. Volkoff is never given his shot and goes back to retirement. All of the people involved with the Axis are suspended after standing trial in front of the Board of Directors. All the elements were there for a landmark angle but , like with many things, WWE just couldn't see it.

Man, the WWE should have done that tongue.gif Might have made Bradshaw's title reign worth watching tongue.gif
Mervyn
