CMLL is fun stuff though . . I can't understand what they are saying either. . but the crowds are always great ! ! original.gif
The Krow
of course the crowds are great...

They never have barriers around the ring, so the fact that the crowd can participate and, due to the fact that there are no security guards near ringside, crowd participation is almost encouraged.
The Krow
so, anybody happen to catch RAW??? Or Smackdown??? I fell asleep and I missed both of them...
Seraphina
I just....didn't watch 'em tongue.gif I find I'm doing that fairly often nowadays...it's not that I don't enjoy wrestling anymore (I'm still an avid fan, and there's no subject that'll get me talking more than wrestling)...I just...don't really find anything to keep me coming back to the WWE at the moment.

I also blame the fact that the timeslot keeps changing. I'm not even sure what day RAW is on anymore huh.gif It used to Friday...then it became Thursday...now I think they show it live on monday huh.gif I'm not sure tongue.gif
Subtemperate
I know how you feel Sera....

Raw went from being on friday night, to wednesday night to wednesday day....... 3.30pm is not a timeslot I seem to remember. It has a replay at midday on saturday..... but saturdays at midday im not often home in the middle of the day.....
Mervyn
Thank God I get it live original.gif
Talon
Who cares aabout live, We get free PPVs grin2.gif
AtticusBlueprint
I could get free PPV's too......well not legally unsure.gif
Talon
Over here its just a case that wrestling PPVs just don't sell enough and we don't really have PPV culture for anything other than Football or Boxing. Vince was demanding about a year ago that Sky1 should make all their big shows PPV's, but Sky just kept arguing that those wreslting PPV's which are order just don't sell over here, we just don't have a culture which accepts that. Vince kept on going on about if he'd done it in the US and Canada, then he could do it in the UK too and that he knew what he was doing. But Sky hasn't done anything yet, so obviously they knew fine well Vince had no idea how it works in Europe and just ignored him.
Subtemperate
Well here in Australia we have pay for.... And Raw and Smackdown are on at the times of......

Man it sucks being a wrestling fan here....
Talon
You pay for RAW and SD?
Subtemperate
Technically yes....its only available to those who have cable.... which costs $99 per month roughly...
Talon
Our wrestling is only available on cable too, but I think its £30 a month

Well a wrestling show is always better when its live . .

As for the PPV'S .. I don't get them at all as I don't have Digital Cable.. so I have to go out to see em, or wait for the DVD..
Talon
I've only been to one live show, a SD house show in Glasgow. Scots are crazy fans, we were giving the ring announcer standing ovations. Plus they brought out the trainer Fit Finely to fight Jamie Noble, and the crowd when insane.
Seraphina
Ah, the standing O for the ring announcer...that was weird...

"Tony! Tony! Tony!"

Which is weird, because I don't really like him huh.gif But yes...that was a very...interesting crowd. But one thing's for sure, they weren't cheering Tony when he announced that we could see the WWE again "in Birmingham!" tongue.gif
Talon

WWE again "in Birmingham!"

I seem to remember those got the biggest heat of the night, more so that an of the heels.

I mean, what did they think was going to happen "We'll be back in your area soon, please buy tickets, you just have to go to another country to do so". They might as well have advertised for their next tour in Germany or France.
Seraphina
I actually think Bradshaw got the biggest heat of the night tongue.gif Sad...really sad...the week before his world title push started, he was beaten clean by Billy Kidman at a house show in Glasgow...I so wish someone wound point that out on air...

Kidman for champ! grin2.gif
Talon
It must have been the constant shouts from that guy with the weird accent ('You suck Bradshaw') which put him off laugh.gif
Subtemperate
Hulk Hogan was beaten by Billy Kidman at WCW...if im not mistaken.....

Kidman for Hall of Fame.... lol
AztecInca
Rey Mesterio beat the Big show/Giant on WCW, by pinfall. He deserves to be in the hall of fame!
Subtemperate
lol...Your not using the same logic, but I can see your point...

But that also puts Spike Dudley in the hall of fame, and I'd rather eat lead.
Talon
Surely someone has to be retired to get into the hall of fame, or at least near retirement
AztecInca
How can you not like Spike?!?!?!?!............hes like a human rat!
Subtemperate
...Does a wrestler ever really retire? lol

Surely David Arquette could never hold a title...lol
Talon
...David Arquette .... thats just embarassing
Subtemperate
Yeah....Courtney Cox would have been better... laugh.gif

WWE officially signed Marty Jannetty to a contract, with the belief that Jannetty will be appearing on the RAW brand. No further details are available.
AtticusBlueprint
Well thats good, he did good with HBK, and I heard had a great match with Angle, after WM he could feud with HBK.
The Krow
That might be a half decent feud...I probably won't watch, but it sounds alright...

Booker T's real life wife Sharmell Sullivan, who was known best as Paisley and a Nitro Girl in WCW, is apparently being brought back for at least a few weeks in an angle with Heidenrich and Booker T. The planned storyline will be a kidnapping angle of some sort.

Sharmell was shown quite a bit on camera on Smackdown on Thursday not to mention that Tazz actually brought up her past as a Nitro Girl. Also, on WWE.com, they have a photo of her from Smackdown. Considering that they showed "a fan" so prominently on TV and they rarely do that, there had to be an ulterior motive. When Booker's match was done, she wasn't at her seat anymore, so thus she was actually a part of the show and not really as a fan.

Sharmell has previous experience in WWE in that she was a backstage announcer in late 2001 and early 2002 on Smackdown while training to eventually come become a wrestler. Unfortunately, she broke her ACL in April 2002 while wrestling for Ohio Valley Wrestling and in the summer of 2002 Sharmell was fired while injured along with some other developmental wrestlers in a cost cutting measure.

Sullivan was a valedictorian in high school not to mention a former Miss Black America. She wed Booker T last month and was said to be running his clothing store in Texas while he was away on the road. It looks like Booker T will need to hire a new person, for at least a few weeks.

Smackdown, ever with the fresh storylines....

No, TORONTO fans are the CRAZIEST ! !

We boo who we want when we want, and we cheet who we want, when we want, we don't care what the WWE wants and

WE DID THE WAVE AT SUMMERSLAM ! ! ! !
Talon
Aparently Italian fans are also very crazy

There is talk that Road Warrior Animal may be up for a job with WWE as an announcer. It is expected that he will get a tryout in the coming weeks for the position.

hmm.gif Interesting
Mervyn
Use Heyman as an ANNOUNCER ! ! !
AztecInca
Heyman as an annoucer eh??............maybe, maybe NOT!
snuffypuffer
They had a chance at Joey Styles. They blew it. I frown. sad.gif
AtticusBlueprint
I still think Stone Cold would be a great announcer disgust.gif
snuffypuffer
Yes, I agree. Stone Cold would be a groovy announcer.
Seraphina
As much as that might be interesting...it might hurt the programming for a while. People would spend all their time waiting for "what is Austin going to do" tongue.gif They'd probably think it was an angle, rather than his new job, and not pay as much attention to the guys in the ring.
AtticusBlueprint

What if it's a Tomko match
snuffypuffer
Nobody pays attention to those anyway.
Mervyn
Austin's voice would get very tiring over the course of an entire show . . plus lets be honest, he's never EVER had a hugely varied vocabulary...

Great at promo's, but I don't see him as an announcer.

Just as tiring as Lawlers disgust.gif
Seraphina
hey, who said we liked the King either? tongue.gif

Personally, I think the best union the WWE has had in recent years were the brief spats of Tazz and JR, and of course Paul Heyman and JR....although I put that down more to Tazz and Heyman than JR. I'm not very fond of JR...not just because of his love of "hosses", but I just find he's been saying the exact same thing, in every single match, for the past couple of decades huh.gif

Heyman obviously can do the job...although I'd rather see him as a character on screen...and as for Tazz...well, he does exactly what he's supposed to do, and adds a bit of colour of the match. Which is very, very fortunate, as he's sitting next to Michael 'Monotone' Cole tongue.gif
Mervyn
Well heyman's in OVW right now .... I doubt we'll see him as an on air talent for awhile.. I loved him as SD GM . . but he pissed off stephanie ( i hate her )

I miss the days of Gorrila monsoon and Bobby Heenan sad.gif sad.gif
snuffypuffer
Where's Jesse the Body when you need him? crying.gif
Mervyn
He is available as far as I know . . . .

Yeah, I don't really like JR either, I agree Tazz has got to be the best out of all them and he isn't really all that good.

Why is he in OVW?...training to become a wrestler tongue.gif

Mervyn
Last I heard he was down in OVW to help the guys there with promo work, which is not a complete waste of his abilities.

Id still prefer him as on air talent, or back in charge of creative on SD..

I HATE STEPHANIE ARGGGGHHH ! ! ! ! original.gif
