I'd pay to see Hogan get a stunner....

But then again he's probably gonna no sell it, hulk up and win with a leg drop
Talon
sounds like him indeed
Subtemperate
Hmmm... rattlesnake vs the pythons.... that kinda has a ring to it....
Seraphina
So, one old man with a broken back who can't wrestle anymore, against another old man with a broken back who couldn't wrestle in the first place huh.gif

Swell.
Subtemperate
To be fair, Austin says he has a couple of good matches still in him. but only a couple....

His last match agaisnt rock, he was in such a bad condition and still pulled out an excellent performance.... So I doubt on that front he'd let us down...

Hogan on the other hand.... well.... He only had one match in him, and it left 25 years ago yes.gif

In the first of what will likely be several WWE talent cuts, Marc Loyd was officially released by the company. His desk was actually cleared off this afternoon.

Aside from the general need to make budget cuts, Loyd's firing was likely due to WWE's new USA TV deal. With only one weekend show, WWE will simply not need as many announcers.

Oh...no..... think of the children....
Seraphina
Who the heck is Mark Loyd? huh.gif
Subtemperate
I think he was the smackdown backstage announcer that they used when Mr Matthews was getting his hair done...
AtticusBlueprint
Good cut some announcers, I'm afraid some cruisers might get fired no.gif ...

ok i know i am old school but does any one know why BRET HART did not return the wwe said he was coming back and then noithing just wondering, i would like to see him come back with some new youg talent from canda!
Subtemperate
I dont recall WWE ever saying he'd return. There were rumours, but as usual they were untrue.

I don't think they'll fire Tajiri
Shadowsleet
The same company that fired Jamie Noble? Ultimo Dragon? That has just transfered Christian to Smackdown after spending months building up one hell of a hot fued between him and Cena, who just moved to RAW?

I think you overestimate their intelligence.
Talon
Yeah, the WWE really don't know anything about wrestling.... huh.gif how ironic

There has been some people both in TNA and inside the cable industry suggesting that a name change take place with the company before signing a deal with Spike TV. Many feel those in the advertising industry will get scared away by the "TNA" name given its rather obvious sound when saying it out loud. However, it should be noted that it would be a rather long process trademark wise to change everything and could be a hassle they don't want to deal with. Again, this is just a rumor so take it for what it is worth.

If TNA does end up signing a TV deal with Spike TV to start this October, it doesn't appear Spike has any plans to promote the show at this time during WWE programming, or more specifically during RAW. This could change once an announcement is made between both parties. With WWE programming leaving at the end of September, Spike will continue to push other top shows on the network such as the CSI series and season two of The Ultimate Fighter series.

It is interesting to note that Paul Heyman has not signed a new deal with WWE and his future with the company appears to be in doubt. TNA's Dixie Carter is aware of who Heyman is, despite her somewhat lack of knowledge in the wrestling business, and understands how Heyman was able to take a promotion with little to no money and make it into one of the "big three" promotions at one time being ECW. Heyman did make a comment on the WWE.com Byte This program a few days before the ECW One Night Stand PPV that he would like to explore other options outside of WWE and noted that "this place could use some competition."

To be fair, jamie noble himself said that they didn't want to let him go, but he felt like he needed to be made an example of due to steroi use.

Otherwise I agree.
isis-999
they need to get some of the old school wrestliers back the new ones are just not the same,

QUOTE

It's not that simple. The biggest issue is that wrestling is a demanding sport, it's hard too keep going in your late 30's and over, plus most people want new young fresh faces, the WWE needs to get new viewers not bring back old ones...

Hasn't HHH admitted to using steroids, and I'm almost certain the Hassan and Eddie are on roids just to name a few.

Subtemperate
WWE doen't permit the use of steriods, so I dont think so. Steriods are often used to overcome an injury, doctors do perscribe them as such, so in some cases steroid use is ok.

Sometimes just because someone is muscle bound doesn't mean they have used steroids. Look at noble, he isnt that muscular..... Edge also supposedly used steriods....

So the cocept that those who use steroids are the huge muscly guys is wrong...

....Yeah, but I'm sure Eddie uses them he isn't that tall, he has gained alot of muscle before winning the WWE title, I've heard people say at house shows and such he has marks on his arm, plus he has back acne. But he is a big money maker for the WWE, so I dout they would fire him. While Jamie Noble hasn't really done anything and that would do just nicely for an excuse to fire him, like Rhyno.
Subtemperate
No, apparently they didn't want to fire him and they wished to sweep it under the carpet... but Jamie wanted to be made an example of....

Anyhow, Im not saying I disagree with you...I really don't know...
Seraphina
Personally, I know very little about steriods, but I'll assume it's a symptom of them...even assuming this...

QUOTE
plus he has back acne

Still seems such a funny thing to say when riding a man down tongue.gif
Subtemperate
Acne often arises from stress. I know when Im run down and stressed I tend to get a bit of it.... And since Eddie has had a rough year or so, that may just be due to the fact he needs a rest....

You'll notice any wrestler his size who is going to get the title seems to bulk up. Jericho put on weight for his run, maybe he wasn't as muscley..... but they all do seemingly try to live up to the heavyweight name..
Seraphina
That, and he was fueding with Brock Lesnar....he probably didn't want to look lke a midgit.
Subtemperate
He...didnt look like a midget? huh.gif lol

Also back acne usually is a sign of steroid use, thats why I wouldn't be surprised if Hassan and also Snitsky, where using steroids. Most body builders who use steroids often use tanning beds to try to burn them off, so there less noticeable.

Yeah, but it looks like Jericho lost a few pounds of fat, for awhile there he was getting a little flabby, and then theres JBL rolleyes.gif ...But after watching some Samoa Joe matches I promised myself I wouldn't judge wrestlers on their appearance

QUOTE
Hulk Hogan might not be around the WWE ring very often. But, after just one six-man tag, he already sees WWE Champion John Cena as a star.

"After the match with Cena, I told him "Brother, now that I've been in the ring with you. Now that I've seen how good you are. Now I want to wrestle you, so get ready." He was totally psyched, he told me it was like a dream come true, but I want to see what he's made of," Hulk Hogan told IGN, before calling Cena someone who can "carry the football for 15-20 years."

As far as Hulk Hogan's wrestling career, the wrestler does not believe he's ready to call it quits. He views being able to successfully perform the leg drop with no injury as getting over an important hurdle.

"To drop the leg and for my hip not to break and my back not to be in a million pieces, my whole back is screwed up, but physically, I've been training as hard as I can and I think it's helped a lot that I keep my body tight. I'm 51 years old and I look as good as some of the young guys so I'm just really excited to keep going and see how far I can go with this thing."

Ok...Proof that hogan knows nothing.... he thinks Cena is "that good" in the ring....?
AtticusBlueprint
Last RAW when Jericho said "We are pretty close to Hollywood" I thought it was going to be The Rock, then Hogan came out and I just stoped caring.
Subtemperate
"Watcha gonna do bruddha".... Change the channel grandpa.
saucy
wow, I forgot all about this thread!

Anyone know what happened to Taker in the title match? I started watching it when it was only Booker T, Bradshaw and Christian.
Subtemperate
He got DQ'd... for doing something to Hassan.... I cant remember exactly....
AtticusBlueprint
He hit Hassan with a chair, I was really disappointed on how Christian was eliminated though

The following upcoming house show in Hampton Beach, NH., scheduled for 7/29, may give some indication on future plans on the RAW brand in terms of programs leading into their next PPV. On top you've got John Cena defending against Edge, Carlito defending the I-C title against Shelton Benjamin, Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair, Hurricane & Rosey defending the tag-titles against The Heart Throbs, Big Show vs. Snitsky in a battle of the giants, Christy Hemme vs. Victoria for the diva division, and Chris Masters vs. Val Venis.

- Despite releasing Marc Loyd, WWE is apparently still looking to hire announcers. A listing on wwe-careers.com confirms that WWE has "immediate" interest in an on-air talent with play-by-play experience.

- WWE sent an email this morning confirming that John Cena will wrestle Edge at the August 6 house show in Albany for the WWE Title. With Edge still in possession of his "Money In The Bank" challenge, it seems WWE might be heading in the direction of Edge vs. Cena later this summer. Remember, however, that house show cards are not always valid tools of prediction.

Oh for the luv of. They got rid of the Cena vs Christain fued everyone wanted to see, to push Edge vs Cena which nobody cares about. What the hell is wrong with Vince?
AtticusBlueprint
......

1) What happened to Jericho, you'd think he'd be more of a title contender then Edge

2)My theory is that the WWE scraped the plans for John Cena vs Christian, because Christian has been getting big pops. In New York(I think), Britain, and Canada, Christian got cheered when he mentioned beating Cena, and the crowd was cheering for Christian over Batista(one of the top babyfaces) So I think the WWE might turn Christian slowly face, have him feud with Booker T, I'm guessing he will win the Royal Rumble, then he could possibly win at WM.
Subtemperate
I somewhat agree.... I think that at the moment they are trying to make Cena the new big star, so having Christian (who is also on the way up) against him would possibly stop one of them from still heading up.

On the other hand... If the WWE writers were good.....
Talon
Its because Christain is cool.
Subtemperate
Exactly....

And they want Cena to be the pin up boy, so they are trying to protect his image.....
Talon
I hope they don't ruin it, huh.gif but we know they will tongue.gif . Dear god whats with the WWE. The crowd wants Matt, so they fire him. The crowd wants Christain, so move him to another show and kill his biggest push before it happens.
Subtemperate
You forgot Booker T being pushed, only to lose at the big stage and never go back.....

They have a long history of pushing the wrong people, or the ones who look like monsters...

So, if you can actually wrestle in WWE... And you don't look like a sock full of wallnuts... oh dear your in trouble...
Seraphina
Well, it's like Ted DeB...DeBia....it's like The Million Dollar Man said tongue.gif

"Being a great wrestler is the worst thing you can be today. You're the one that's used to put the other guy over."
Talon
It is beyond comprehension, that they choose to push Bradshaw as main heal and not Booker T. Booker should be 1 time WWE Heavyweight Champion and multi-time WWE Champion right now. Not 11 time HHH, and 11 month long champion, Bradshaw
Talon
Am I the only one who's noticed that the main members of this thread tend to be proper wrestling fans and not couch fans? huh.gif Did we chase all the couch fans out or something?
Subtemperate
lol... I am a fan of couches... they are comfy.

My fathers a couch fan, who harldy watches.... In fact anyone who I know who would be classed as a couch fan feels the same...... which is why they cant be bothered watching it.
AtticusBlueprint
My friends are kinda couch fans but cheer for heels like Kurt Angle and Christian, cause they know there good. There half and half....for now wink2.gif
Talon
I think I finally evolved from being a couch fan when HHH was a face years ago. I thought, he's good and when he turns heel I'll till support him.

Joke is I didn't know he'd come back from injury a title hogging git who'd annoy me so much I wanted him off the tv so I could see more Beniot (Now there's a good wrestler).
Subtemperate
I was a fan in the eighties..... who loved Hulk Hogan..... (as a kid)

Oh how times have changed.
Captain Charisma
Christian RULES SmackDown!John Cena RULES RAW!I'd like to see Cena vs Christian, one-on-one!And yeah, Benoit is da best in da business!(Next to Cena tongue.gif)
Talon
Christain vs Cena would be very good charisma-wise, plus the fans want to see it. I'm not convinced of Cena's wrestling ability's being a match for Christain's though, still its a match I'd watch.

And 'Benoit is da best in da business' grin2.gif
