Seraphina
Jul 6 2005, 09:57 PM
Does it ever occur to Vince that the reason they can't get publicity based on the wrestling product is because the only people interested in wrestling are wrestling fans? And that wrestling fans in generally are horribly turned off by his lunacies?
I'm sick to the back teeth of hearing, over and over, this god damn "remember...the E stands for Entertainment"...whenever anyone complains about the content of their shows....it's obviously not god damn ******* entertaining if people are complaining!

He should be trying to build big names again to replace all the ones lost at the end of the 1990s such as Foley, Rock, Austin, HHH's credibility etc.
That doesn't happen overnight. It needs you to take someone who has a quality (preferably TALENT), giving them time to evolve, time for the fans to accept them, and then building them up match by match. NOT grabbing somewithout talent and shoving them down our throats, NOT pushing someone before they are ready, and certain NOT spending a lot of time and energy on a bunch of screaming little girls who contribute nothing to the industry.
In the words of Corino, I like women. I like wrestling. But I do not want to see my women and wrestling together.

Someone should just say to Vince one day...
"I'm well aware that the E stands for entertainment...however, I'm sure you're also aware the the second W...and you might say the most important W...stands for wrestling.'
"By that, the implication is that there is going to be entertainment through wrestling. Nobody is going to tune into your programs to watch scantily clad girls...they've got the playboy channel for that. Also, nobody is going to tune into your shows to watch terrible storylines about people getting each other pregnant, or black weddings...they've got soap operas for that.'
"The honest truth is, until you forget about that E, and start focusing on the W instead, you have about as much chance of making money, as a lemonade stand at the north pole."

Jul 6 2005, 10:04 PM
but golf is a sport and so is bowling, they have to compete to determine a winner. And the only reason sports puts on wrestling is economic, lots of people watch wrestling so they stretched their definition of sport a little so they could broadcast, it was a no brainer really. It belongs on a regular channel like desperate housewives and other soap operas

Sera...Yes, and as much as a condom machine at the vatican....
Wrestling is a sport where the objective is not to put on the best performance to win. The objective is to put on the best performance for the people watching. The same way as gymnastics is a sport, expcet in wrestling you try to make you opponent look good for if you do that it makes the match even better.
Sometimes a true sport is one where there is competition through opinion, and not through winning and losing...

I'M BACK!!!!!!!!
And in more ways than one. First, yes I'm gone from the WWE. Does it sting? Hell, yeah. Especially since I've always been one of their "model" employees. It makes sense that I was released, I don't b****, moan, groan or suck. I just didn't fit in with what the WWE puts on tv. No, I'm only kidding(but not really). It was my turn and that's the nature of the beast. The WWE is a sinking ship. Cursed by owning 100% of the industry, I can see how they couldn't afford my outrageous salary in these times of number crunching. Hey, they gave me a great oppurtunity and maybe I didn't make the most of it. That's life. At first I was pissed, but I woke up this morning feeling, I don't know, alive. Check this out, this morning I woke up and visioned having a wrestling match without a script. I visioned going to an arena and actually having fun again. I visioned not having to go to the hospital after being hurt by a "future" WWE superstar who may look good but have the wrestling ability of a dead walrus. I visioned pitching an angle without having to get approval from writers who 6 years ago were buying ECW tickets and making signs(it's true). Hell, I visioned blading!!! I really don't want to burn bridges(if I haven't already) and all that, but that company sucks the life out of you and then spits you out. Enough on them.
I want to love wreslting again. I want to be passionate about the business. It's been so good to me, I want to give back. I don't know how yet, but it will happen.
Right now, I'm going to chill. I've got some time to sit back and re-evaluate life, smell some roses and get my head straight. I doubt you've seen the last of me. And if anything it's a blessing. Nothing sucks worse than working for a company that doesn't respect you. Paul E.(God bless him) proved that to me. Now I don't have to worry about it.
Majik, you f'n rock. Big boost this morning, thank you. I"ll be in touch.
Everyone in Dudlyeville, you all are the best. My many thanks to everyone for the support and love you've shown. Now that I'm on my own I will be back more often, so it's fun time.
I can't name everyone but you know who you are. Keep the faith, and if anyone is hiring get in touch.
Thanks guys,
Spike "no more tears" Dudley

First thing's first - you don't know a thing about wrestling. You're one of those people who's IQ point is in lonely company, and feel the need to insult something that other people are extremely passionate about, despite likely never having given it the time of day.
Your comments indicate that you conscribe to the "mainstream" opinion both of wrestling, and wrestling fans...the fact that you have demonstrated a failure to articulate your points anywhere near as clearly as the...brainless wrestling fans...in this thread have, would be my first hint that your opinion, as free as you are to hold it of course, is complete bullsh*t.
I could spend a little hwile talking about how any wrestler on the planet works harder, and puts themselves through more punnishment in one night than most of us will endure in our entire lives, and how that feat alone is worthy of respect...but let's not dwell on that. Let's dwell instead on how many fun and imaginative ways I can return the insults you chose to direct at my companions and I

And believe me, I will....

The long and short of it, Mr Stixx, is that this thread is not here for idiots to charge in and talk about how much they hate wrestling...it's here for wrestling fans to discuss something that they enjoy, and what they think of it's current state.
You accussing all fans of being inbred rednecks (which seems to be your intention), is rather like me saying that all football fans are skinhead hooligans

Certainly, both claims lie on similar levels of stupidity and ignorance.
I would recomend that, before you next post, you wake your brain up from hibernation. I do understand that much of that particular organ will have atrophied from spending so much time in dormancy, but please....it is for the best.

Anyway, ignoring that trouble maker, lets get back to wrestling.
I hear they've started work in the next Smackdown game, but I really can't see it being much different from the others barring updated roster. Maybe they should just wait for the next generation system.
Seraphina
Jul 6 2005, 10:54 PM
As far as the games go...I feel they really dropped the ball on Smackdown vs RAW. I said it at the time, and I still believe it...Here Comes the Pain was nearly perfect...aside from a few sticking points (mainly, the created female characters were very poorly skinned...which bothered me a lot when making...you know..me

), the game was damn near flawless.
When they moved to Smackdown vs RAW, they screwed up all kinds of things...they had storylines that could only have come from the current writing team, they completely ruined the created character mode (which MADE the damn series)...eih....it was just irritating.
They've got a lot of damage control to do on the next one.

I used to get excited about every single game, until SD vs Raw... just didn't care. They're all too similar. Some changes are nice, like the body damage chart etc, but normally its the same game. They should wait for PS3, then make one that looks incredible with lots of new features. Not one game every year which is the same barring a singe new feature.
Also Sera's right, SD vs RAW dropped the ball.
