The Dudley Boyz, Bubba Ray and D’Von Dudley, were released because their contracts were coming up next month and they couldn't agree to money terms with WWE. With domestic house show business being horrible, this is no time to being asking for a raise. The Dudleyz are said to be looking at TNA and Japan as future options.

Marty Jannetty was released because of a domestic incident last month. Well that and that they just didn't know how to fit him into WWE storylines as he was sitting on the sidelines for about three months.

Dawn Marie had her contract bought out due to her forthcoming pregnancy. Plus with the Diva Search, WWE is getting the feeling that just about all the divas are expendable. Out with the old, in with the new. It didn't do Dawn Marie any favors that she happens to be 33 years old and aging with each passing year and WWE seems to be looking for hot 20-something's nowadays. Plus, many fans have noted at house shows that she was getting out of shape while observing her during bikini contests, although her pregnancy had to have played a part in her weight gain.

Otherwise please do not come in here just to upset other members who wish to discuss wrestling.

Not really. But I hope I did tongue.gif

Personally, I don't think I'll miss the Dudley's that much...not that they weren't entertaining in their own way, I just mean I won't miss them...christ knows, they havn't been on WWE programming for ages.

Yeah I mean, what are we missing... "get the tables"

Charlie Haas and Jackie Gayda released the following statement on their respective websites this evening: "Charlie and Jackie would like to thank all of the fans who have supported them over the years. Even though they are no longer wrestling with WWE any longer they will still be very involved with wrestling, whether it be overseas, ROH or independents."

Backstage morale in WWE is not good right now to say the least. Many wrestlers are frustrated with WWE for their way of handling things lately. As of this writing WWE has released 18 superstars, some very loyal and long-time veterans of the company, some injured, some pregnant, and some just recently married. These cuts were reportedly made in part of budget cutbacks, yet WWE is negotiating right now for the return of Brock Lesnar, who voluntarily walked out on the company and eventually filed a lawsuit against it. Now, he is being welcomed back with open arms while many others are still waiting for their telephone to ring to confirm their release from the company, as plenty of cuts have yet to be made official on the WWE website yet.

Let us not forget that WWE recently released Matt Hardy for going public with his frustration towards Lita for cheating on him with Edge while he was out with an injury, and are now looking at bringing him back because of the comotion that created.

As far as the guys who were released, Akio (aka Jimmy Yang) will likely find work in All Japan. The others, namely - Spike Dudley, Mark Jindrak, Billy Kidman, Maven, and Shannon Moore will likely all have the option to go to TNA if that's an avenue they're interested in. However, this will have to be once the company is more stable, as for now their programs only air on the internet. If and when things pan out with SpikeTV, TNA just got a lot of new talent to play with for their first few TVs.

19 wrestlers/divas have been released from their WWE contracts within the past 24 hours, making this the biggest firing spree in WWE history. As if 19 wasn't enough, the party is not over. Dave Meltzer is reporting that 8 to 10 more people are set to get cut. You guys may want to make a "fire pool" for kicks.

Anyways, here is the complete list of the 19 wrestlers that have been released in the last two days to help you keep track of this huge mess of WWE Superstar departures.

# Bubba Dudley
# D-Von Dudley
# Joy Giovanni
# Kenzo Suzuki
# Hiroko
# Charlie Haas
# Jackie Gayda
# Marty Jannetty
# Dawn Marie
# Mark Jindrak
# Maven
# Shannon Moore
# James Yun (Akio)
# David Heath (Gangrel)
# Billy Kidman
# Spike Dudley
# Kevin Fertig
# Matt Morgan

Bet its people with talent they keep firing.

Oh I get it you guys are okay with giving attitude to people who post their opinions which are harmless and nonfriction on the first one but as soon as they fire back with the same type of attitude you get all upset. You are hardly open minded yourself, tunnel vission is never good. Did I not say I did not mind wrestling, all I said was that for the purity of it it should be on primetime and not a sports channel. Its like being an action star(THE ROCK) its a job where you must be athletic do a bunch of crazy physical stuff but your not a professional athlete, your a professional actor. The same goes for wrestlers they have a persona to uphold they have to be in character, they are actors. Sports channels are for competitions with undetermined outcomes(excluding boxing and figure skating) so they belong there, wrestling doesn't.

I never gave you attitude I just said, you might not think wrestling is a sport and I don't think Golf is a sport, but whenever I see it on primetime TV I change the channel, no big deal.

I don't really care which channel it's on. I can't help you here, so I think if you have a problem with it write them a e-mail. Other then that I don't see what coming into this thread and telling everyone wrestling shouldn't be on the sports network is going to accomplish.

QUOTE
Just hours before his meeting with Vince McMahon, an optimistic Brock Lesnar sat down with WWE.com to talk about his departure last year, possible upcoming return and more.

"I've had some contractual disagreements with WWE, as well as a lawsuit. But I'm ready now to see if we can do some business together.

"It wasn't easy for me to leave," claimed Lesnar in regards to his 2004 departure from WWE. "I struggled with the decision for a while. I realize people have their opinions about me leaving, and they're entitled to those opinions. That's why they live in America."

After making the decision to leave WWE, Lesnar set his sights on becoming an NFL star. His unsuccessful pursuit to the gridiron was highly publicized, but it was one he still looks upon fondly. "I'm glad I did it. I didn't want to look back years from now and regret not taking that chance," said Brock on his decision to try football. "I'm done with football now, though. Like I said yesterday, professional wrestling is in my blood. This is what I want to do. You only get one life to live, and I'll be damned if I'm not going to live my life to the fullest."

If all goes well between Lesnar and McMahon today, the former WWE Champion still has to consider how he will be received by the WWE Superstars. "I have to take into consideration that this is a business," replied Lesnar regarding any ill feelings toward him. "Hopefully, a return is what everybody wants to see. I can tell you that I will commit myself to be the guy I was in the ring before I left. If there's problems from the boys, that's not my problem. I never had a problem with them. They've been nothing but great to me in the past.

"If I do come back, though, people should be aware that they need to be on their toes," Lesnar continued. "There ain't nobody that can hold a candle to me."

Stay tuned to WWE.com as more on Brock Lesnar and his meeting with Vince McMahon becomes available.

As noted earlier this week by PWInsider, Triple H was at RAW on Monday. WWE management knows that he has been overexposed the last few weeks and have opted to keep him off WWE RAW for the next several weeks. We don't have any confirmation on when exactly he'll make his return.

WWE writer Larry Mollin has left WWE and depending on who you ask, he got fired or left on his own. There were three new writers at RAW who were described by sources as very green and new to the business.

The Coach actually ran the obstacle course at RAW Monday prior to the show and went right through it. Vince McMahon told him to mess-up while doing the obstacle live so it looked somewhat difficult. The joke was backstage that even goofing his way through it, he still did better than some of the divas.

As much as I hated the old writing team, is it actually a sane idea too hire guys new to the business?! For crying out loud.

Oh and moose come talk to me when you understand a little bit about what I study(history and science), if you can comprehend that is. I just thought it would be interesting to discuss this particular aspect of the subject, but it seems I gave too many people too much credit. Some of the fanatics started slobbering all over themselves to tell me off just because I have an alternate view. I initially didn't insult anyone and only reacted to the misplaced aggression of a couple of hormonal teenagers incapable of the long view of the english language. Its called karma you get what you give with me. I know I understood the purpose of this forum and any forum, because I read history. A forum is an opportunity for adverse or opposite opinions to be discussed. All I see is a bunch of people saying the same thing and pouncing on anyone who does not agree. Its pathetic and weak minded to dislike someone just because they don't think the way you do. You are better served by replying with counter arguments that display your understanding of the issue, rather that personal threats(I'd destroy you) that only display a below average maturity level. I never swore at anyone and never placed threats, I produced a piece for discussion about the subject that neither demeaned or insulted anyone. Most of you who replied cannot say the same thing(except Atticus Blueprint) at least one member was open to knew ideas. And I won't use this as an excuse to disagree with any of you for the sake of pettiness, but I'm pretty sure at least one of you will. But that does not bug me because I can't feel threatened by a complete lack of logic.
Talon
Nope grin2.gif And unlike JBL, Brock has talent thumbsup.gif

I'd welcome Brock back. As much as I do agree with many, that its unfair many people who are loyal to the company are being fired, while Brock who left WWE in the lurch is being welcomed back, Brock does have ability, has star power and seriously, the WWE needs both at the moment.

Alternative view? Dude, you came in an insulting our intelligence, do you think after that we're really going to like you?

You obviously don't like wrestling and the only thing you're presence here has done is offend everyone more than the smell of a dead animal would.

You've also repeatedly ignored a moderator's (Subtemperate) advise that you behave yourself.

And don't insult newbie's, its not just rude, its obnoxious.
Stixxman
What exactly did I say that was so offensive in my first post, I'm confused, I insulted no one's intellegence, so tell where I went wrong exactly.
And I didn't realise the purpose of this thing was to make people like you, i naively thought it was about discussing things. Here's a tip if two people are talking but saying the same thing then that is not a discussion it is an agreement, if their views are different they are having a discussion. The thread doesn't mention anywhere that you can't post unless you agree whole hearted.
Seraphina
Stixx...you came in here and started accusing wrestling fans of, among other things, being inbred and stupid huh.gif You likened something that we're very passionate about to a soap opera, and generally just set out to insult wrestling and its fans in general.

How exactly you can imagine you're now going to claim the high ground is beyond me. What I was suggest is that you pack up your things, and just stop coming here tongue.gif Quite frankly, not only would that save us from having to read and respond to your tripe, but it would also save you the unpleasant experience of being blasting into infinity by a group of people with a far greater mastery of wit and sarcasm than you.

Of course we take insults to wrestling personally...to say nothing of your insults to fans of it (that being us, of course). We've had to put up with far too many mainstream morons, who know bugger all about the industry, or what it's all about, to be bothered with dealing with one more...believe me, you're not going to bring anything new to the dicussion, and the longer it goes on, the more and more stupid we're going to make you look tongue.gif

I was just thinking about that, and it is kind of hard to be a wrestling fan. The WWE/WCW did some damage to wrestling by having these over the top crazy gimmicks(Doink anyone) then when they tried moving forward the aura still sticks. When I say to someone I am a wrestling fan, the person usually gives me a weird look and says "But it's fake" then I pull out my hair. But when you watch the show with some of your fellow wrestling fans or go to a live show, it's crazy because the fans are so passionate and have great energy it makes it worth it
Stixxman
no I didn't, I only reacted to someone elses comments to show I wasn't fair game for insults, I thought it was some harmless hazing type thing when post on a new forum. I had no idea that soem would take offense to nothing. If you read the posts you would know that it was not addressed to you and would have a pretty good idea who it was for. I was not insulting initially. If people want to feel slighted they will for anything.

I do not, and have never had a problem with his decision to leave the company and play football...I think the same now as I did then: that it was his career, and he was free to do with it as he wanted.

What I do have a problem with is the way that, after leaving, he sh*t on the industry, he sh*t on the fans that had made him, he sh*t on his coworkers, and he sh*t on what they do in that ring. I don't particuarly want to see Brock waltz back in to a multimillion dollar contract, no.

Indeed, I get the 'its fake' all the time. They seem incapable of understanding, so what it the results are determined before, the wrestlers (I mean, wrestlers, as in those with talent) are amazing athletes. There is no way, I or anyone else could do what they do. The attacks can hurt, people are harmed. Pre-determined yes, fake no.

Its a performance art. But its still a sport.

And indeed, possibily its because of all the bigotry against us (no help to Sports entertainment style) that we are indeed passionate.

And what would you call Sera's post a resounding high five? You can't pick and choose here its all recorded and saved for posterity. I was watching wrestling 25 years ago I doubt even half of you can say the same. I was a fan when they were in the heydays. I watched wrestling when Rick flare had real blond hair, coco beware, ricky the dragon steamboat, and my personal favorite sting. I'm all into suspension of disbelief too just in a different way(I believe in EBE's whats more ridiculous than that) so I don't understand the immediate hostility here. If people bug you for your choice in entertainment don't blame me I wasn't there, so don't take your frustration out on me. And if you can't take a joke then you better not laugh at anyone else ever again, because if you can't laugh about yourself then you have no right to laugh at anyone else. And my firts post was IN NO WAY INSULTING if you think it was then read it over and over till you get what I'm saying.

Yeah he did act like a moron, but if him saying all that stufff doesn't affect his in ring and mic work, why should it affect us. If the people pay for a good show and Lesner gives them one then does it really matter what he says or does?
Talon
I'm mixed. I agree with Sera, after what he said about the industry its outragious that he gets to walk back into a miltimillion dollar wage and main event status. But like Atticus says, the WWE needs a well known and talented drawer.
AtticusBlueprint
Yeah I was mixed as well but I think in the end you got to do whats best for business. When you look at it Lesner is more marketable and was better in ring then half of the wrestlers fired. He had the look, and the ability, but on the other hand he could bomb so I'd still be careful
Stixxman
You seriously think saying you will destroy me is a joke, okay, because I don't.
And so far nobody has shown they are witty or gifted sarcastically but me, because thats what my percieved insults were sarcasm. If you couldn't pick up on that then you don't really understand sarcasm.

But either they will boo him if the place has more "smart fans"(New York, ect) and the marks might boo him cause he left as a heel or the "smart fans" might cheer him on his ring ability and the hate for JBL and HHH 20 min promo's and the marks might cheer for him because usually returning wrestlers get cheered

There are some wrestler's that are only answering their cell phones if it doesn't come up a Connecticut number. The release list at WWE.com is in the exact order that the stars were notified yesterday. They had been posting the names of those released within the hour of when they got the call yesterday.

Friends of Dawn Marie say she will likely take her job loss pretty hard especially after she was told by management that she would be able to keep her job despite her pregnancy. She was under the impression that she still would be used on WWE TV during the pregnancy.

Shannon Moore is said to be feeling OK about his release and is very excited about the new opportunities that await him.

Sarcasm is not able to be read, it is a tone or saying something that is quite obviously not your opinion to those that understand that. If you use sarcasm, perhaps you should also learn that wit would involve making sure those who read such aren't offended.

As for me, I've been watching wrestling pretty much the same amount of time you have, and over that time I have learned something very important, its called apologising when I insult a group of people, even when not on purpose.

Now Stixxman, this topic of you vs everyone else is now closed. You are not to mention it again, nor is anyone else. If you dont like it. Too bad. If others dont either... Too bad.
