A Mexican air force plane on a mission to hunt illegal narcotics traffickers videotaped 11 unidentified flying objects (UFOs), according to a media report. The images aired on Mexican television yesterday. The military plane was on a mission in southeastern Mexico in early March. In the tape, broadcast by Televisa network, the UFOs appear as white spots in the sky.At first the pilots can be heard saying they think the alleged UFOs are planes carrying drug cargos. One of the pilots is heard saying that the plane's radar is showing a spot behind the craft. Then the infrared camera reveals another 10 luminous spots moving at great speed. The conversation indicated the UFOs followed the plane for some time and then quickly disappeared.| Additional report from wzzm13.com : The Mexican Airforce is investigating an unidentified flying object or UFO.
A Mexican air force pilot says he first saw one light...then three, then up to 16. But he says he couldn't get close enough to identify the flying object. The pilot was over Mexico City doing routine drug patrols at the time. To view the video footage,

Still can't get it to work. Maybe someone can send me a picture or something. What do the aliens want with Grand Rapids! I live in Michigan, though I'm not in the state now, I don't know what the aliens want there. There's a link to UFO's right on the news site, then it's got to be amazing!

Can someone take a decent sized screenshot of the video and post it to this thread ? If I can get an image of this I can post it to the front page, I don't have Real Player installed at the moment, and my connection is poor at the best of times when it comes to viewing streaming video.
Thanks.

I have sent them. The footage live is actually alot more interesting. You cannot see much on the stills but there are small moving white balls of light darting around.
Very strange.

After installing the latest version of RealPlayer(9 megs) I was able to view the video, it is a good video.
The quality is poor as realplayer condenses both audio and video down to extremely small files, sacrificing the quality of the clip to do so.
As best as I could see, there are 8 little balls of light that were caught on the FLIR(Forward Looking Infra-Red) camera pod on the bottom of an airplane. The pilots also saw it with their own eyes, it wasn't just something that showed up in the infra-red spectrum.
There are no typical aircraft/spacecraft shapes that can be seen, just balls of light like ball lightning...
I would like to get a copy of the original video to see what the balls of light look like in higher resolution. My guess would be just higher resolution balls of light, but who knows.

Wow, that's quite the video.
Let's hear some theories on what these lights could be then.
Universal Absurdity
May 12 2004, 12:03 AM
interesting that when the 8 balls of light were on the video, they flew in tight formation 1 in the front, 2 groups of 3 and 1 in the back.
i wish i had paid more attention in spanish class, even then it was so long ago i dont think it would matter.
They showed pics of radar in the traffic controll room, i suppose they did get them on radar as well.i dont think it was ball lightning, i'm not sure if that kind of phenomenon would show up on radar.
best videos ive seen yet (quality wasnt all that good but hey, thats the internet for ya.)

I could barley contain myself during the day wondering about those damn
balls of light. I did notice the shiny things when they were in formation as well.
That was the most amazing part for me was when they were moving one after another, all in a line. That and the part when the camera seems to zoom on two shiny objects up close. I look forward to more info...if there is any. Anyone know any mexico news pages?

"6 UFO'er flyver i formation" -> "6 UFOs flying in formation"
"To UFOer på infrarød film" -> "2 UFOs caught on infrared film"
"Flyet låser på en enkelt UFO" -> "Plane locks on single UFO"
Looking forward seeing their newsshow tonight, hopefully they will show something...

This is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have this gut feeling that we will all know the truth about the existence of ETs very soon. This would cause widespread panic! I am so excited about this sighting.
I first heard about this watching Headline News. I was like, "WTF, I can't believe they are talking about a UFO sighting on CNN!!".
I really have this weird feeling that something is going to happen that will change the world as we know it. Maybe not today or the next, but very soon.

Perhaps within a few years, (which is very soon to me).
I can't wait to hear what those UFOs were. They better not say weather balloon!
*keeps his fingers crossed*
Edit: SaRuMaN, I hope you don't mind that I pinned this topic. It seems to be the best unexplained news topic in a while. I figured this should be pinned for a few days, or at least till more information is available.

To preface myself, I'm healthily skeptical about UFOs and even more so about aliens. I believe both exist, but I think most of what's out there is hooey.
I'm mixed on this one.
I'm first going to have to assume that the video on this plane is "official" (meaning the recording equipment and the tape belonged to the government, not the private property of the pilot - because it makes no sense to bring a videocamera to work, especially this work, and the video is clearly not of that nature). Don't you find it funny that "official" video is hitting the major outlets? This stuff is normally pretty tightly kept, even in Mexico. So if the government took it seriously, it wouldn't release it -- and if they didn't take it seriously, wouldn't they still be kind of... guarded... about letting their tapes go to the public domain? Not only that, but they say the lights followed them. Then it can't be a cockpit camera, can it?... unless the lights decided to stand there and watch as a plane headed toward them. Those two things just seem odd to me.
I think there's too much of this story missing; video can't tell all (and I haven't seen it, because I . How did these pilots first encounter it, where, what happened during all this filming, where they headed towards the lights after discovering them following, and how and when did the lights disappear? What time of night was this? Did they file a report, how did their bosses/etc react to the report?
That said, I can't deny that this video is pretty impressive, and I'm certainly not able to take the U out of the UFO on this one.

Mexican Air Force Releases Photos Of Alleged UFOsMEXICO CITY -- Mexican air force pilots filmed 11 bright, rapidly moving objects in the skies that an expert said proved the existence of UFOs, but defense officials said Wednesday no conclusions had been reached about the objects' origins.
A videotape aired Monday on national television showed a series of brilliant objects flying at more than 11,480 feet over southern Campeche state. The tape was filmed March 5 by air force pilots using a video camera equipped with an infrared lens.
The objects appear to accelerate rapidly and change course suddenly. At least one crew member testified in a videotaped interview that the objects encircled the military jet at a distance of at least two miles.
The pilots spotted the objects while conducting a routine drug-surveillance mission. Only three of the objects showed up on the plane's radar.
Infrared equipment can only detect heat emanating from objects. It is unable to provide an image of the objects' exact forms.
Defense Secretary Gen. Ricardo Vega Garcia gave the videotape to UFO specialist Jaime Maussan, who has spent 10 years studying unidentified flying objects.
Maussan claimed Tuesday the videotape was evidence that flying saucers exist. The video was especially significant since it was provided by the military, he said.
"This is historic news," Maussan said. "Hundreds of videos (of UFOs) exist, but none had the backing of the armed forces of any country. ... The armed forces don't perpetuate frauds."
But Vega denied Wednesday that the military had made any conclusions about where the lights came from or whether they were UFOs.
"This is Maussan's point of view, for that reason he was given (the video) so that he could draw his own conclusions," Vega told W Radio. "But that is his version."
Vega said he decided to release the videotape to the scientific community for study after determining it did not pose a threat to national security.
Vega also insisted that the military had not released the tape to distract the nation from other issues, such as a political corruption scandal, as some news commentators suggested.
Vega said he initially believed the objects were drug trafficking planes, "but when I began to see that they had those lights ... I realized they couldn't be such aircraft."
The defense chief said he had warned those under his command to refrain from talking about "flying saucers" and UFOs when discussing the video "because that just provokes doubts and jokes."

WOW!
I hate to say it..but im rather scared.
When I was young (around 9) I asked for a telescope for my birthday. I got what I asked for and I decided to go outside and use my new telescope..when I looked throught it, I saw the exact same thing that is shown on these videos..
What shocked me even more is reading that they could not see a difinitive shape..jsut the ball of light. That is exactly how I explain my sighting.
Needless to say-ever since the sighting ive been deathly afraid of alien/UFO phenomena..so I am very frightened right now.

It would seem that the american media is downplaying this event. Why?
I see no reference to it on New york Times, Washington post or CNN website. Some local news channels in hawaii where I live reported it however.
Seems to go along with the whole american denial of UFOs in the first place. but it would seem reports and sightings are becoming more and more commonplace.
From what I've read the UFO's were not visible with the naked eye, only using infrared photography.

I must say I always have been a skeptic when it came to UFO's but this tape and the article in my local paper has shaken my skeptism, but I still believe most UFO reports are fake. Why is it that we all ways think UFOs are alien? Why could they not turn out to be new high tech aircraft made by the US?
