Rescuers are searching for two men who are believed to be in the rubble of Tuesday's factory explosion in Glasgow.
Police said it was not known whether anyone else had been passing the Stockline Plastics plant at the time of the blast and become trapped.
Four of the seven known to have died been named. They were: Ann Trench, 34; Margaret Brownlie, 49; Tracy McErlane, 27, and Peter Ferguson, 52.
Specialised heavy lifting gear is now being used to stabilise the structure.
Prime Minister Tony Blair has expressed his sympathies for those affected by the blast and Scotland's First Minister Jack McConnell has visited the site.
Chief Superintendent David Christie said on Wednesday evening that 44 people had been injured.
