A nine-year-old tribal girl in eastern India has married a stray dog as part of a ritual to ward off an "evil spell" on her, Indian newspapers have reported. The girl, Karnamoni Handsa, had to be married quickly because she had a tooth rooted to her upper gum, which is considered a bad omen by her Santhal tribe in the remote village of Khanyhan, about 60 kilometres (37 miles) from Calcutta.
"Members of the village jury asked us to get her married to a dog or to face the bad omen," the girl's father was quoted as saying by the AFP news agency.

the thing is, do they expect the bride and groom to do 'it' on the wedding night?

Maybe I'm missing something, but where else
would a tooth be rooted, other than to the gum?!??!?
I realize this is sort of besides the point, but I can't seem to get past it.....

Well, I wish the happy couple luck. They're gonna need it,I heard that every year you're married to a dog is like seven years of being married to a human..

i think the tooth was coming out at the top of the gum instead of the normal place where teeth should be.
but i want to know who thought marrying a dog would end the ''omen''
edit i just read the article and thought this was kind of amusing in an odd 'i've married a dog' kind of way
''The tribe elders said the marriage would not affect the girl's life, and that she would be free to marry again later and did not need to divorce the dog''

that dog is kind of hot. and i do NOT like ice cream and jelly. that is the worst kind of desert. once when i was five, gran made me a great big birth day cake. we had to eat it with ice cream, jelly, custard, etc. it ruined the taste of the cake!
