As a diehard footie fan, I know how bad it is, when a special player leaves your club. And Larrsson is a very special player.

My heart goes out to you, Wun.

But if it's any consolation, no player is bigger than the club, and Celtic are the daddy of Scottish football.

All the best for next season. wink2.gif thumbsup.gif

Um...HW, do you actually follow football? Yes, the Man City trophy cabinet has been home to moths for a long time, but Celtic have been a footballing steamroller for the last few seasons.

LOL we've won the league three times out of tha last four seasons, includin a treble.

We were in the Uefa Cup final last season and as well as taking the league again this season we have a scottish cup final to round of the season next week(which we ARE goin to win).

(You know I would really like to see another team win the league up here. As long as it aint rangers. It does get borin.)........2nd thoughts naaaaaah. Moan the 'tic!!

So ghosts must exist then lol. grin2.gif

As for Man city i can see their time coming theyve badly underachieved but that can only continue for so long.

I bet any money theres a strong challenge down in england from man city next season.

Already got one mate! My six year old girl plays ....just went to the last game on Saturday. I still don't understand why we call what is played in the NFL 'football'.
The only time it ever touches the foot is when someone kicks it ...and that is not done all that often. I agree that what you play with that round ball is true
'football'. Americans apparently call it soccer because they already coined 'football' as what the NFL does.

Greatest Sport on the planet? Hmmmmm....Okay you win ..it is..now order that CD! tongue.gif

Actually you are probably right if you take into consideration the popularity of the sport. In the USA we play American football starting in grade 6. I never really knew how popular the sport had become here until my girl started playing. Probably about 50 games going on at the same time. Mind boggling! tongue.gif

Well i can help you out there i think.

I would tak a guess that its derived from the full ame of the sport called Rugby Football.

American football is a version of that sport.

Main differences are that american footballers wear lots of padding and rugby players dont (although as i understand it there are less rules on the likes of "high tackles" in American Football).

Also rugby is a more fluent sport less stop start and the pitches are slightly different.

Try = Touchdown

and

Conversion is conversion in rugby.

there are no timeouts in rugby either.

Well there are rumours that it's been a home for the dinosaurs too!!

Anyway at least we're safe, and I'm pretty sure we'll make a better fist of it next season. A positive goal difference does tell me that maybe we are not as bad as our position suggested.

On the downside I missed my first home match at the CoM Stadium on Saturday when we beat Everton 5-1. sad.gif

On the upside, I was at the Millenium Stadium to see a lifelong dream fulfilled as the mighty St. Helens overcome the old enemy, Wigan, to win the Rugby League Challenge Cup; and I'm still on an almighty high.

Come on the S. Let's have it! grin2.gif

Oh and good luck to the Bhoys on Saturday. Two trophies and a whitewash of Old Firms, would be a pretty good season don't you think?

I agree, Dave. We had a handful of big wins, and scored for fun during spells of the season. A bit of tinkering, and some targetted arse-kicking, and we could have a decent squad.

And I agree, there, too. Good luck to the Bhoys at the weekend. I suspect they don't need it. wink2.gif I saw the old firm games this season on the Beeb, and Celtic were a bit special.

Here's a thought. Anyone up for an official Football (that's proper football) thread? As has been mentioned already, it is the world's number one sport, and almost an international language.
