This is a tough one.

Oh boy.

Now, as far as humans can grasp in our thinking, it is impossible for something to continue for ever and ever and infinity. Everything MUST have an end. Therefore the universe must end somewhere, right?
Okay, so, if the universe ends, what is on the otherside of the universe? Non existance? If its another universe, whats after that one? Another one? How is that possible, everything must have an end and therefore there can't be infinite universes.
Mind bogglah!!! wacko.gif

Again read universe in a nutshell by Stephan Hawking. He explains open universes, closed ones, and side by side ones. Its written so almost anyone can get a grasp of it

Yes, do read the book. My personal fave is that the universe is finite, but that it has no borders. There is no beyond the edge, because there is no edge.

That is a great book.

I think the trouble I have with comprehending the universe in this respect is getting over our typical view of things.

We are so used to seeing things with a beginning and an end. A start and a finish, a birth and a death. Everything is contained in this fashion, probably because we are in fact contained on this planet.

I have troubled ridding of these ingrained restrictions while trying to visualize something where these restrictions have absolutely no bearring.
