The only way to really tell if it is internal reflections, is to run an experiment and take piccies under various lighting conditions and at various angles to the subject you're photographing. See what the results are like and compare them with photos of the orbs.

Forgive me for attempting to beat this dead horse with a really long, sharp, fire-hot stick, but have any of you seen pictures of orbs in motion? How is that explained?

This guy has sent me several pictures of orbs that he has taken. A lot of the orbs are stationary, but a few appear to be in motion. Those that are moving are exceptionally bright (like blindingly so), and they resemble comets, with a circular head and a tail.

He's also sent me pictures of different colored orbs. One's red and white, one's all red, one's orange, and one is kind of pearly, I guess, with like pink and green streaks through it.

Okay, let the criticisms fly...

orbs are just specks of dust. People trying to say they're ghosts are kiddin themselves. Before anyone knew of orbs, they'd see a speck of dust. But now, it is not a speck of dust, it is a ghost...

Not always. If it has a black or dark center - then it's a speck of dust. If it's clear like some of those seem to be, then...

The interesting thing is that I've seen orbs in person too. Those I have a hard time believing are specs of dust. But - they're almost always near by a mist that seems to be moving also.

But I think that most orbs are just dust. I have tons of pictures from a play that are totally ruined by the number of orbs in the pictures. But the theater was increadibly dusty too.

This evening I took a couple of pictures of a huge rainbow that stretched across the sky. One of them has a formation of three bright lights that appear to be orbs, lined up and straddling the rainbow.
This got me interested in testing my own ability in orb photography. I must've photographed about 100 orbs tonight. Some pics I took with a 5 sec gap between them, and the first pic will show a bright orb that is nowhere to be seen in the next one. And I find that they seem to cluster over buildings. I noticed this when I kept finding orbs hovering, not always in the same spot, over my garage. So I took some pics of the roof of my house and that of my next door neighbor, and found clusters of them there too! They vary in size, and in brightness. Anyone else find this to be true?

3. Orbs have never visually manifested to people.

Ever heard of the old tales of Will o' wisp? these are/where orbs!

As to all these possible explanations of orbs, I have my own theories/opions. I have taken many digital pics on investigations and have seen orbs attached to ectoplamic tenticles surrounding a face associated with EMF readings and olfactory phenomena.

Yes it is true that orbs can be dust, liquid droplets, etc. but this is easily determined by purposely photographing various conditions such as: rain, fog, mist, sprayed purfume, dust (by dusting with a feather duster then having a partner shake the duster and photographing it) -- all these with the same camera, also vary angle and lighting conditions; then compare images to see how your camera photographs these things.

After eliminating other possibilities it appears that orbs may be some type of electromagnetic energy -- that is associated with entities of some description.

I have some orbs with faces on them. Some are in motion. Anyone else?
gufzoo
Me too, Babs. Some look nice, but some look downright angry! Should I be scared? ph34r.gif
Babs
No, I'm not scared. This is so exciting. I am filming in infrared and I have a magnifying glass on the photos. w00t.gif

Hopefully this will work now...
Here's me with an orb.

*picture removed... sorry!*
gufzoo
Here are some more orb pics. They are cropped so it's just the orb with a little background.
gufzoo
Apparently I'm gonna have to do this one at a time. Sorry!
gufzoo
And another...
gufzoo
Yet another...

Last pic...
Hopefully it comes out, 'cause it's my favorite. I was taking a picture of a rainbow. When I zoomed in on it, these three orbs in formation appeared, straddling the rainbow. It was my first orb pic. And, by the way, yes it was with a digital, but I've taken hundreds of pics with it and this was the first time orbs appeared. The other pics I posted (except for the one with me in it) I took later that night, and then the next night. When I went looking for them, they started to appear, some faded, some (like the ones I posted) bright and beautiful. Then a few nights later I went looking for them again, and couldn't get any. I assume they'd been just passing through, and moved on.
Babs
Those are fantastic pictures, especially the rainbow. I go out looking for orbs too. abduct.gif

Thanks Babs! I'd love to see any you want to post.

I can't believe nobody wanted to argue with me on this... Maybe they took my "skeptics beware" sig seriously! laugh.gif
Babs
I have posted a bunch of my orb pictures on my thread, 'Orbs streaks and ghostly mists'. Look there and tell me what you think. original.gif
Babs
gufzoo...It's under the topic, 'Ghosts, Hauntings and the Paranormal'....it's called, "Photos of orbs, streaks and ghostly mists".

There is a problem posting here, I have to go back to the previous page to post. Maybe that's why no one has posted. dontgetit.gif
gufzoo
That's weird. I haven't had any problems.

I have two more orbs I want to post that I forgot about earlier. They are cool because they showed up side by side in the same picture. Only... one is blue while the other is white!
Also, they were taken inside, and as you can see, they both are floating against some curtains. I took another picture of this same room a minute before this picture, and there was a blue orb and a white orb in that one as well, but in different locations. Since I am a computer moron, I had my friend download and crop these pics on her computer and then e-mail them to me, so sorry I don't have both whole pictures to show you. Hopefully I will figure this stuff out soon and when I do, I'll post them here.
gufzoo
Here's the white one.

What are these balls of light we find in paranormal photos? I won't tell you I know the answer, but that's part of the job of researchers and investigators. One of the leading theories concerning what orbs are and the one that I lean towards the most is, orbs are energy being transferred from a source (i.e. powerlines, heat energy, batteries, people, etc ) to the spirit so they can manifest.

Orbs are the most photographed anomalies caught on film by ghost hunters and are quite photogenic (when they want to be). They can come completely transparent or display themselves in a bright solid form.Other type of ghostly phenomenon are the Vortex (funnel shaped appearance) and Ectoplasm (mist or foggy appearance) also called Ecto Mist. These are often picked up on film and video as well but are much more rare.

If you get a chance..check out my site original.gif
Babs
mdepaul...what is your site? That is the most interesting concept I've heard on orbs and it fits everything I've been seeing on film and camera.

Here's the picture I referred to earlier, with the two different colored orbs floating side by side.
Babs
Looks like faces in them too.
gufzoo
I'm glad you see the faces too, Babs. I didn't want to say anything about them, but now that you mention it, isn't that weird? I've found faces in most of my orbs.

Any new photos on your part? What'd you think of the pics I e-mailed you?
Babs
They were unreal...my husband thought they were wild. Many of my orbs have faces in them, too. I don't know what to think of this yet.
