i was wondering what's the hardest boss in all of the games? out of all the bosses

they're all pretty damn easy. the one i died with the most was Alexia, first form in Resident Evil: Code Veronica. She just walks after you, throwing fire at you. The fire hurts, and stops you for about 5 seconds while she walks to you. The fire doesn't go away, it just streaks the floor. So eventually there's no where to run, and once she gets you, she grabs you by the neck, sets you on fire, boom, dead instantly. It SUCKED.
Janiel
ouch that must have sucked, so your saying that they are all easy?

OMG! OMG! I absolutely cannot wait until the next movie comes out!! The first one was really good, in my opinion. The ending was soooo messed up though. That is one of the best video game based movies around next to tomb raider. It sure beats house of the dead, that movie was soo stupid.

haha yeah HOTD was really lame.
Yeah the movie was VERY good. I wish they did an actual movie of the first game tho, and more creepy mansion stuff instead of futuristic labs. That's only half of what RE is about afterall. original.gif We'll get some nice creepy buildings in RE2:Apocalypse.

Yeah.
Just for fun, lets go through the bosses. grin2.gif what can i say, i'm bored.

Resident Evil 1:
Snake 1, (optional) usually get biten once, pretty easy as long as you can stay away from it. But you can just run in, get the crest and run out.
Plant 42, dead easy, just say around the wall, blast it a couple times, keep moving around the wall.
Snake 2, a little harder this time, especially since you HAVE to kill it. But generally, the same as before.
Tiger Spider, very easy. Stand still, hit it a few times, dead.
Tyrant 1, very slow, very easy. Stay at a distance and blast it.
Tyrant 2, just dodge it for 2 mins. Not exactly very difficult. But it does have one attack you can't dodge, and it's VERY fast, so you need lots of health. Then once the rocket launcher drops you have just a couple seconds to get it and blast the tyrant before time runs out! Fairly easy.

Resident Evil 2:
William Hybrid, the damned creatures it spits out are a pain in the ass, but otherwise it's extremely slow and you can just stand there and blast it.
William Birkin 1, watch out for his pole attack, but he's also very slow and just a few blasts will knock him out.
Crocodile, one shot from the handgun, very easy.
Birkin 2, this is only his claw reaching in from above, so just avoid where the dust falls, and aim up. no biggie.
Birkin 3, this one is a little tough, cause he jumps around and has a four-claw slash. just keep runing around the platformand when you get a chance, shoot. a little harder than most tho.
Birkin 4, same as birkin 1 except on the train platform.
birkin 5, same as birkin 3.
birkin 6, this is a tough battle! i always hated this one. the bastard is REALLY fast and has huge spikes in his stomach which can really hurt!! tough battle.
Mr. X finale, this guy is the same as Tyrant 2 in the first game. a real bastard, but just keep avoiding until the rocket launcher comes.
birkin 7, just stand next to the wall and blast that damn blob.

Resident Evil 3:
nemesis 1, optional, and not recommended since you don't really have enough ammo to kill the bastard. fortunately i'm a master of dodging, which makes ALL the battles in this game really easy, even with a knife. grin2.gif
nemesis 2, same as 1.
nemesis 3, same as 1.
grave digger 1, this is also option, you don't need to hit it if you're fast enough. it's about baiting the worm, pretty easy.
nemesis 4, same as 1, watch out for rockets!
nemesis 5, this is the one outisde the mansion, and it's pretty hard. especially since you start with low health. :S just keep running, and avoid if you can the damn tentacles! hes fast, so it's tricky!
gravedigger 2, this one is a bit of a bitch, but shoot down the lights and it's dead easy.
nemesis 6, jump of the bridge or push him off. lame.
nemesis 7, this one is HARD! run around the nemesis while turning on the gas vents until you can get out of the room and drown the bastard in acid.
nemesis 8, another slimy blob like birkin. charge up that rail cannon three times while avoiding the nemesis and shot it the third time to win.

Resident Evil Code: Veronica
Tyrant 1, pelt it from a distance with explosive arrows, dead in seconds.
Tyrant 2. TRICKY! Run around it until you hear the beep, don't get close to the edge, and push the switch. 3 times.
Alexander, easy as long as you can snipe. 4 shots in the chest with the sniper will put him down.
Gravedigger (optional) run around for about 10 mins and it actually kills itself!
Giant Spider, yikes that one is a little tough. Just run in a circle around the pond and use the shotgun, it'll die.
alexia 1, THIS is the mutha. dodge the fire, and dodge her. she's tough as nails.
steve burnside, i hate this one. just run. it's REALLY hard to not get hit at least twice, and each hit you have to use a first aid spray.
alexia 2, one shot with the colt
alexia 3, i hate those damned bugs on the ground. keep running around it and grenading it until the tentacle piledrives the ground and kills the bugs. repeat.
alexia 4. use the linear launcher, one shot, make sure you're a good aim. watch out for her fire attack.

Resident Evil 1, Remake:
Same as one, except
LISA: What a bitch. push the stones down, she'll jump. Still it's hard to avoid her. Gah.

thats it for now, i gotta go to lunch. hahaahhah. have fun reading.
Janiel
now thats what i call bored! thx for the info!
BurnSide
easy easy bosses.
Janiel
doesn't get much easier than that...does it?
BurnSide
actually, it does.

Resident Evil: OUTBREAK:

Boss one: Same boss as the Birkin Embryo from RE2, except alot bigger. Takes place in the factory on the train platform, also from RE2. Just push the switch twice to ram the train into the monster.
Boss 2: Leech. Run away, shoot behind you.
Boss 3: Female Licker. She's tough. Stay far far away, run in occasionally and shot a shotgun, run away again.
Boss 4: Tyrant. Same deal as all the other Tyrants. Avoid, grab powerful weapon, hasta.
Janiel
o wow so outbreak kinda rips off the other games... w00t.gif w00t.gif w00t.gif
BurnSide
not exactly. RE3 goes through the police department where RE2 was set. RE0 goes through the labs in RE2, and a few areas in RE1. etc etc. Outbreak is divided into 5 levels. The first one is on the streets, the second is set in the HIVE, the umbrella lab in RE2. The third is set in the hospital featured in RE3, forth level is an apartment/hotel complex and the fith level is a university.
Janiel
awwww so your saying that they all share levels...? interesting...
BurnSide
it's a city dude. there's only so many places you can go in a city 5 games share the same location, so it's only natural some games are going to cross the locations over. and it's cool that they do in my opinion.
Janiel
yes it's very cool (never said it wasn't) i guess the fact that they are in the same city (one would think they wouldve nuked it by now) didn't cross my mind...
MrScuzzles
My favorite would be Code Veronica. No doubt about it.
Janiel
i've never played code veronica...o well
BurnSide
It was nuked, ONE day after the outbreak. Resident Evil 3 shows the city getting nuked, and the ending of RE Outbreak also shows the city getting nuked, and the aftermath of the nuke. The city was simply wiped out. But the games 2, 3, Outbreak, outbreak 2 (coming soon) etc all take place within the same day, with different peoples points of view.
Janiel
oh wow i had no idea! now that's a cool concept!

Okay.

June, 1998.

Outbreak in the Hive. The Umbrella laboratory miles under the streets of Raccoon City was entirely infected.
(Cue Resident Evil: the Movie)
Alice fights her way through the HIVE and is eventually taken by Umbrella scientists and the T-virus is administered to her in regulated doses.

June, 1998.

Arclay River, Outskirts of Raccoon City: The remains of a female hiker are discovered. Police think she was attacked by a large animal and fell into the river. Strange thing is the teeth marks are that of a domestic dog, more specifically a Doberman.
Arclay Mountains: Several days later sightings start coming in from random hikers in the woods of strange dog-like beasts.
Arclay Mountains: Reports start coming in later in the month of families and people in the woods being attacked by groups of about 10 people. Victims were apparently eaten.

July, 1998

The police are at a loss. The STARS. (Special Tactics and rescue Service) are called in to headend the investigation. The police have dotted all the attacked on a map of the woods, and noticed they surround the old Spencer mansion. The Bravo team of STARS was sent in by Chopper to investigate. Suspiciously they suffered engine failure.
(Cue Resident Evil: Zero)
Rebecca Chambers discovers a train and teams up with convict Billy Coen. The train, started by Umbrella Mercs, crashes into an old Mansion close to the abandoned factory and secret entrance to Umbrella HIVE. They discover the origins of a deadly virus created by Umbrella in the mansion, and fight their way through zombies and BIO Organic Weapons. Rebecca and Billy are separated on their way to the Spencer Estate, a short distance away from where the Bravo team originally crashed.

Albert Wesker, a secret Umbrella agent positioned by men with power as the captain of the STARS Alpha team then leads the team into the woods by chopper to rescue the Bravo team. They discover the chopper deserted and abandoned, and are chased to the spencer Mansion estate by dog creatures.
(Cue Resident Evil 1)
Chris is separated from Jill and Barry and Wesker. He fights his way through the mansion, meeting up with Rebecca and discovers the T-virus in a lab under the mansion. Wesker shoots Rebecca and then sets the self-destruct device for the lab, hiding all evidence. Brad airlifts Rebecca, Chris, Barry and Jill to safety. Rebecca is treated for her wounds.

August, 1998.

The STARS team, after not being believed as of what happened in the Mansion due to not having any evidence since it was blown up, disband and join the anti-Umbrella organisation. Rebecca Chambers is sent to Caliban Cove to investigate a Umbrella lab and outbreak there. Barry Burton takes his family down south to safety. Chris travels to Europe to investigate the main Umbrella HQ and join with several other Anti-Umbrella groups. Jill and Brad stay in town.
The HIVE is reopened and William Birkin creates the G-Virus.

September, 1998.

Birkin refuses to give up the G-Virus, so Umbrella assasinate him and take the G-Virus. However he injects himself, hunts down his assasins and destroys the virus. This creates City-wide outbreak as the rats spread the virus over the city.
(Cue Resident Evil OUTBREAK)
Several surviours work together to fight to the University through the hoards of zombies and monsters created by the virus outbreak. There they discover the anti-virus, and are airlifted out of the city.
(Cue Resident Evil 2)
Claire Redfield, searching for her brother, fights her way through the HIVE with leon S. Kennedy and daughter of William Birkin, Sherry. They blow the Hive to pieces.
(Cue Resident Evil, The Movie 2: Apocalypse)
(Cue Resident Evil 3)
Brad Vickers is killed by the Nemesis. Jill Valentine fights to get out with the aid of Umbrella Corp mercenary carlos Olivera. Eventually Barry airlifts her to safety with Carlos.
By order of the President of the United States, Raccoon City is then nuked at daylight, one day after the outbreak.

November 1998.

Claire and Leon join the anti-Umbrella squad. Claire travels to Europe hot on Chris's heels. Leon travels directly to Washington with special orders from the president. Sherry is adopted and lives in Arizona.
The patch of destroyed land that used to be Raccoon City is deemed uninhabitable and conered off with a single reserch post checking levels of radiation and virus. Umbrella in America is disbanded and destroyed by the government.

January 1999.

Claire discovers a secret Umbrella HQ in Paris, france. She infiltrates, but is captured and taken to a military base/prison on the atlantic. The base is attacked by Umbrellas enemies and the G-Virus is released upon the Island.
(Cue Resident Evil Code: Veronica)
Claire Escapes the Island to Antartica with help of Steve Burnside. Chris follows and saves her from the Umbrella base in the Antartic which was also overrun by zombies. Steve perishes, the complex is blown sky high. Together they fly to America and meet with Jill, Barry, Carlos etc.

That's pretty much the gist of it. i could have gone back and told you all their birthdays, the history of Umbrella and the Ashford family, etc etc but that was long enough i think. And that isn't including Dead Aim and Survivor because they're both dumb and have nothing to do with the story itself.

Janiel
wow thats amazing...(lots of time on your hands i see...)it's cool how it all ties together, and it's jumbled all over!

i had no clue...now, y doesnt 2 show the city getting nuked...

BurnSide
They get out before the city is nuked. About an hour before, to be precise.
Resident Evil 3 starts about 3 hours before Resident Evil 2, and finishes about an hour afterwards. Judging by the timelines, i'd say the Outbreak occurs around 4 or 5 in the afternoon, RE: outbreak takes place shortly afterwards with the survivors fighting their way through the city, RE3 starts around 9pm, RE2 starts around 11pm, RE2 ends about 7 or 8am and Outbreak/RE3 end with the nuking of the city around 9 pm.

Of course, it may just be that when Capcom made Resident Evil 2, they had no plans to show the city getting nuked, and it was an idea that popped up during making RE3.

well to correct you hollywood has to change things to make since so that it works in real life lets face facts the first game didn't have to big of a plot so they created a way to introduce the world of RE to outsiders of the gaming world

They actually wrote a plot based on the game when Remoro or whatever his name is was going to be director, some Res Evil sites still have it.

However, then they decided that a movie based on the games would be to similar to the original story for the fans. So they made the current storyline thinking 'Ah this is totally original, the fans will love it and so with (the more important people) the average viewer'. At that point Remero left to start a new living dead movie or something cause he said that fans want to see Res Evil, and the new script wasn't it, and he wouldn't be the one to kill the series off. At that point they brought in the Mortal Kobat director.

At least thats what I read on some Res Evil sites while it was being made huh.gif
Shakezulah
has anyone heard anything on resident evil 4? the game looks awsome but what pisses me off is that there are no zombies at all. just a bunch of crazed villagers infected with a new virus that has nothing to do with Umbrella! what the hell?!?! how could they change everything around. maybe if i wasnt such a huge fan of the series then this wouldnt bother me as much. the game still looks awsome though.

also, when is the 2nd movie going to come out? ive been waiting for it for a long time. i think its supposta come out in late september or early october. but i think its gonna be worth the wait because freakin Nemisis is in it! could a movie get any better? ive also heard rumors that its going to have 2 separate story lines. one with Alice (from the first movie) and one with Jill Valentine. and theyre not even going to meet up in the movie at all. how is that going to work?

finaly, has anyone read the books? i own and have read all 6 of them and im becoming impatient in waiting for the 7th. damn that SD Perry.
BurnSide
september 10th is when the movie is comming out.
they are hooking up. i've seen screenshots with both alice and jill in them, helping each other out.

as sabretooth said, they do have to change things around to make it fit, just like lord of the rings, ahrry potter, etc etc etc. it bugs me since it's different, but i think it'll be good at the same time.

the books RAWK. Umbrella Conspiracy, Caliban Cove, City of the Dead, Underworld, Nemesis and Code: Veronica. What's the next book gonna be? A new one? I heard Steph Danielle Perry was working on both movie-to-novels, and also a new Aliens book. I own all the Aliens books too, she's REALLy talented at writing.

Talon, yeah i read Remero's script for Resident Evil. It was based around the first movie, with so many changed you could build a house out of them. The main reason capcom got pissed and fired him was because a) He got rid of S.T.A.R.S., and added a silly bunch of hunky cops. He got rid of the monsters, and just had it as a house with zombies in it. He also added a silly leathal computer, which is what created the zombies in his script (the computer was later used in the movie, but differently at least).

And we come to Biohazard 4, or Resident Evil 4. Spoilers!
It's 6 years later, and staring Leon from the second game. he's been added to the presidents own personal security team, and he's in Europe accompanying the presidents daughter. Then he stumbles upon a town where things... aren't quite right..
Yeah, no zombies. Although in the trailers i have noticed a monster that looks like a zombie. But holy crap does it ever look amazing huh. And HARD!!
Shakezulah
did you see the screen shots for RE4? they look awsome!. theres one with the dude with the bag over his head and a chainsaw cutting into Leon! that is supposta be the very first part of the game. it starts out hard and only gets harder. theres another screen shot with a giant troll-ish looking thing that can pick you up and crush your guts out which is kick ass! you also you get to play as the presidents daughter which will completly suck considering she is totaly weak and defensless.

as for the books, i have never read her Aliens books. are they good? and how many has she actualy written because i know her husband writes them too and they have sometimes worked together on them. and hell yes she is very talented at writing. i love how she makes each scene more in the RE books more intense than they actualy are in the games. also how she describes the carnage and gore. the best book has got to be City of the Dead. ive read it 3 times.

are you sure the movie is going to be out september 10th? on movies.com it says the 28th and my friend found a site that said early october.
BurnSide

^ in theatres Sept. 10th. Official site. original.gif

Yeah i've seen the screens for RE4. I've also watched alot of long preview trailers.
One of them has Leon starting the game in the back of a limo, and then walking up to the town. It shows the fighting. Aiming is in real-time like usual, but with a twist. unlike good old fashions point and shoot resident evil style, when aiming you get a lazer-aim and the camera switches behind you. shoot an enemies leg, he'll fall over. shot him in the chest, he'll keep coming. shoot him in the hand, he'll drop his weapon. shoot him in the head, dead. also theres shots of throwing grenades, shooting bazookas and cannons, swimming, running from boulders, shooting THROUGH doors and windows, jumping through windows, driving a boat around a lake and harpooning a monster, picking up the presidents daughter and carrying her, and yes, the lovely chainsaw guy getting a good one on leon. ouch.
looks incredible, if i daresay, a marvel in videogaming history!!

the aliens books S.D. has written are amazing.
Steve Perry wrote Earth Hive and Nightmare Asylum, the best ones. Then with SD Perry they wrote The Female War and Aliens VS Predator, Prey. SD perry went on to write the script for a few ST: Voyager episodes, the movie virus and a few more Alien, Predator and AVP books, and then the resident evils. I really liked Nemesis, but considering that book is already written, how is she writing Resident Evil: Apocalypse i wonder? Since it's essenially the same book with Alice in it. Weird.
tendo
yeah, the screen shots are awesome
if u go to gametrailers.com there are screenshots, and trailers u can watch thumbsup.gif

yeah, that's one of the many sites. also has the E3 trailer, no? that was good!

ok the original directors name is George Romero writer / director of the Living Dead films ,Bruiser, and a couple of the Misfits music videos .

he wasn't fired he quit the project when asked to change his original script to have a "high tech ,futuristic look that included cybernetic zombies like in Virus and Star trek first contact (the borg) "and a budget of only $50,000.00 total
he got frustrated and left the project to persue an another movie.

the second director Paul S.W. Smith then created a version that the characters all had names from Alice in Wonderland which is where Alice got her name in the movie .

the movie characters are compared to
alice is alice
spence is the cheshire cat
rain and j.d. are twidle dee and twidle dum
matt is the rabbit
one is the mad hatter
the red queen is the red queen

so there you go

I prefer Andersons take on it much more than the other directors.
Shakezulah

you know, they explain the entire alice in wonderland theme in the comentary on the dvd. and if you watched it and payed attention, then you would know that Anderson did not create that theme for the movie, that during the commentary, they just had made up that theme. they were trying to figure out how the other characters would fit in to the theme. if Anderson did create the theme for the movie, then he would have instantly said how each character could fit into it instead of leaving it to michelle and milla to come up with how each character did.
BurnSide
actually, that's not true.

just check the paper weight for that. there is a reason alice is called alice, and the red queen. it is alice in wonderland. i have watched the movie, with the commentary, many many times. because it's funny. and anderson does say he was originally going with an alice in wonderland theme, and points out all the alice in wonderland merchandise that is scattered throughout the movie. he also said that idea was scrapped, leaving Milla and co. to have some more laughs with that.
Shakezulah
ok burnside. sorry bout that. i have one question tho. why throughout the entire movie, did they not say Alice's name? that annoys me for some reason
BurnSide
don't apologise, it is true he never actually said who represented who and left Milla and Michelle to start throwing theories left and right about it, which of course was not true, so you're half right. original.gif
Shakezulah
has anyone played outbreak? that game is cool but if you play on single player, then its really annoying because the AI characters say the same pointless crap over and over again. i wish i could play online but i cant. no network adaptor for my ps2 and i dont have broadband.

about outbreak: file #2, i heard its all the same characters. is this true? and who else thinks the idea for zombie monkeys and elephants is more funny than it is scary?

I've got Outbreak, first day it came out. And sadly i have yet to network my PS2 so i've only played it on single player. It's good, but, well, pointless. The only story in the game is on the last 'level' and i really hate that there are levels. The return to the Hive was nice, but the AI characters sure do get annoying.
Outbreak File 2 is featuring, yes, the exact same characters. All of them. In exactly the same clothing. It's even MORE pointless. But it features a return to the RPD, again, and the Raccoon City Zoo where you see the Virus Elephant, which i think is cool.
The monkeys were featured in Resident Evil Zero. They were test subjects.
Funny? Well, i've never found a Resident Evil game, besides Resident Evil 1 when i first played it and the Remake, to be scary. original.gif

i went to www.residentevilfan.com and got some good news for the movie and books. ok. first of all, the MTV aired a clip from Apocalypse, but i missed it. so fans, be on the look out for it in case it is re-aired.
The score of the movie will not be produced by Marilyn Manson and Marco Beltrami(who did the scoring for The Mimic, awsome movie btw). instead, the score will be done by Canadian composer Jeff Danna, whos past work involves The Boondock Saints, which is awsome because that is my second favorite movie. also involved with the music will be former guitarist of the rock band Evanesance, Ben Moody will have a song on the soundtrack for the movie. thats all for the movie, now for the books.

There are two novels both Paul W.S. Anderson movies entitled Genisis and Apocalypse. however, they will not be written by S.D. Perry, but instead by Keith R.A. Candido. wih some good news for Perry, she will be writing a 7th novel entitled Zero Hour, which is obviously based on Resident Evil Zero. For any of the novels, there no specific date for them except for the month. Genisis is due for a July release, Apocalypse for a September release, and Zero Hour for a November release. over-seas releases for the UK and Australia will be on the shelves in 2005. thats it for this update on Resident Evil stuff.

there is a lot of game news on RE4 and the E3 review but im not going to bother posting it becuse of the amount of it. just check the link above to find out more.

You should also check out http://www.rehorror.com/ which is on my favourites list alongside resident evil fan: a new blood. Back before reisdent evil fan and resident evil: new blood merged to create one site i wrote columns for New Blood. original.gif

residentevilfan.com still has the MTV footage on it's site.
hope this link works. check it out:

javascript:popup('videoviewer.asp?id=177&ff=5', 'VideoWindow','toolbar=no,location=no,directories=no,status=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,width=455,height=320')
