I've been writing a 'Mercs' mini-guide for Resident Evil Fan: A New Blood. Yeeee!! I'm just putting it here as storage.

Resident Evil: Nemesis
The Mercenaries Mini-Game Walkthrough
By Curt BurnSide
Introduction:
The Mercenaries is a fantastic Mini-game where to strive to fight your way through the hoardes of
monsters throught downtown Raccoon City, saving survivors along the way. The story is that you have
been planted with an explosive device that will detonate unless to reach the destination with time
remaining. Along the way you can gain extra time by saving civilians, dodging and killing enemies
and hitting special time-bonus points. Be careful, your ammo is limited and depending on who you
play as, in very short supply. Each civilian you save play drop some ammo or health, and that's all
you have to go on. It's tough work but the prizes are endless.
How to Unlock The Mercenaries:
Play the game through on Hard Mode and The Mercenaries will be Unlocked, along with, depending on
your rank, several extra costumes and an epilogue file.
Characters:
You can choose to play one of three different characters in The Mercenaries. Each character has his
own strengths and weaknesses, as well as weapons and health items. I'll go through that here.
Carlos:
Carlos is the 'Medium' difficulty character in the mini-game. He is controlled just like Jill, takes
moderate damage and is fairly easy to get through the game with. His items include:
Assult Rifle, 100% Loaded
Desert Eagle, 15 Bullets Loaded
60 Handgun Bullets
3 Mixtures of Red, Green and Blue Herbs
Nicholai:
Nicholai is without a doubt hard mode. EXTREMELY hard mode. Although he is a little faster than the
other characters and can take more damage, his lack of weapons and ammo makes it very tough to get
through the Mercs game with him. His items are:
Barretta, 15 bullets Loaded
Combat Knife
Blue Herb
3 First-Aid Sprays
Mickhail:
Definately the easiest to get through the game with. Mickhail is slower than the other characters, and
his wide bulk does mean that he can be reached by zombies and enemies from futher away than the others,
but he has a wide range of weapons and ammo. His items are:
Shotgun, 7 Shells Loaded
21 Shotgun Shells
Colt Python, 6 Bullets Loaded
18 Colt Python Rounds
Rocket Launcher, 8 Rockets Loaded
Mixture of Red, Blue and Green Herb
Time Points:
Time points are what you get when you kill an enemy, dodge an enemy, save a civilian or hit a secret
time-bonus point. They are crucial to getting to the end of the mini-game. You start the game with
2 minutes on the clock and it counts down. Everytime you kill an enemy or do any of the mentioned
actions, you will get time points which will increase your time. Say, if you have 56 seconds left and
you save a civilian, you'll get 20 seconds added to your countdown and be at 1 minute 16 seconds instead.
Enemies and Time Points:
The different Enemies here give you a different amount of time when you kill or dodge them. Here i will
go over the enemies and what amount of time they give:
Zombie: Combo 1, 3 seconds. Combo 2, 7 seconds. Combo 3, 14 second. Combo 4, 25 seconds. Combo 5, 40 seconds.
Combo 6, 65 seconds. combo 8, 82 seconds. combo 9, 105 seconds. Plus one second per successful dodge.
Dog: Combo 1, 4 seconds. Combo 2, 12 seconds. Combo 3, 24 seconds. Plus 2 seconds per successful dodge.
Crow: Combo 1, 1 second. Combo 2, 2 seconds. Combo 3, 3 seconds. Combo 4, 5 seconds. Combo 6, 10 seconds.
Leach: Combo 1, 1 second. Combo 2, 2 seconds. Combo 3, 3 seconds. Combo 4, 5 seconds. Combo 6, 10 seconds.
Spider: Combo 1, 5 seconds, Combo 2, 15 seconds, combo 3, 25 seconds. Plus 2 seconds per successful dodge.
Brain Sucker: Combo 1, 5 seconds. Combo 2, 15 seconds, Combo 3, 25 seconds. Plus 2 seconds per dodge.
Hunter: Combo 1, 6 seconds. Combo 2, 18 seconds. Combo 3, 30 seconds. Plus 3 seconds per successful dodge.
Nemesis 1: Put down, 10 seconds. Kill, 20 seconds.
Nemesis 2: Kill, 120 seconds.
Combos:
Combos are extremely important in the Mercs mini-game, they ensure you have enough time to reach the
end. They are accumilated a number of ways. One way is to dodge a enemy and then shoot it. The dodge
will give you a couple seconds, and then killing the enemy will give you more. This is specially useful
with dogs and hunters. Example:
Hunter A is running at you. You're about to shoot it, but dodge it's attack, which gives you 2 seconds.
Then you blast the Hunter after the dodge, which gives you a combo time of 8 seconds, which is 2 for the
dodge plus 6 for killing the hunter.
The second way to get a good combo is to simply kill as many enemies you can in the alotted combo time.
You have about 4 or 5 seconds after you kill the first enemy to kill as many more you can to rack up
your combo bonus. Here is an example:
You blow Zombie 1's head off, 3 seconds added to your clock. Behind said Zombie are 3 more zombies.
You manage to kill one of them quickly, which gives you a combo time of 7 seconds, which is 3 for the
first zombie plus 4 for the second zombie combo'ed. Then you kill another, which doubles your combo
again and gives you 14 seconds. But the third zombie takes to long to kill and you lose your combo,
resulting in 3 seconds for that zombie. Pretty simple huh.
The third way to rack up a good combo is to use the barrels scattered about. However, if you just shoot
the barrel randomly, you wont get much. You have to lure zombies over to the barrel, and hit it at the
precise moment. Example:
You run down an alley past a barrel, but there are no enemies near it. At the end of the alley there are
8 zombies. You run back past the barrel and wait until the zombies come to the barrel before blasting it.
You don't wait long enough and only kill 4 zombies, which gives you an instant time bonus of 35 seconds.
If you waited until they are ALL next to the barrel and shoot, you kill them all instantly which gives
you a time bonus of 82 seconds!! But be careful you don't hurt yourself when blowing up the Barrels!!
The Secret Time-Bonus Points:
There are 6 Points where if you touch them you can gain extra time. The first one you touch will only
give you 2 seconds, but the time you recieve doubles each time you hit one of these points. 2, 4, 8,
16, 32, 64. Their locations do not change. I will note their locations in the Walkthrough, but here
they are:
Touch the Boxes in the small Alley underneath the Journalists Office.
Touch the Table on the right hand side of the Restaurant next to the Kitchen.
Touch the Control Pannel where you obtain the Fuse in the Power Plant.
Touch the Fire Hydrant on the Wall in the long Cul-De-Sac where you Obtain the Fire Hose.
Touch the Dead Cops in the Alley where you Obtained the Photo and used the Lighter on the Gate.
Touch the Dead Guy in the Basement where Brad ran from and you Obtained the lighter Fuel and Shotgun.
The Survivors:
There are 6 survivors in the game that need rescuing. When you rescue one, they will give you an extra
20 seconds of time and some ammo or health, depending on who they are and who you are playing as. Be
careful, if you want to rescue the survivors you can't daddle, they do die if you don't get to them in
time. Here are the survivors, their locations, their items depending on character and in what time you
have to reach them. Bare in mind the time is how long you have to get to them before they die, not what
is showing on your timer. Also each one is guarded by enemies that you have to kill before you can save
them. I will also be pointing out their locations in the Walkthrough.

Mickhail Walkthrough:
Now i'm going to walkthrough, room by room, the whole game assuming you're playing as Mickhail.
Tram Car:
Once the introduction is over, quickly go to your menu and equip your shotgun. Run to the door
at the north of the Tram Car and exit.
Burning Road:
There are several zombies in this area. Don't kill ANY. Run forward and hop over the crates.
There are three zombies here, run past them all and into the door.
Back Alley:
Run forward and blast the two zombies heads off with the shotgun. Keep it equiped. Run forward, stomp
on the floor-crawlers head and blast the other two zombies away with ONE shot. Run down the alley
and into the door.
Back Alley 2:
There are Crows in this area. Just run to the end of the alley, ignoring the crows.
Back Alley 3:
There's a zombie right infront of you. Aim UP and blast his head off. Run forward and
you'll see a barrel. there are 8 zombies to lure into this barrel down both the left and right alleys.
Run down the left, then the right, and then back to the corpse of the first zombie. Wait 5 seconds until
all the zombies are in range of the barrel, FIRE, you should get 82 seconds for that. Run down the RIGHT
Alley, up the steps and through the gate.
Outside Gas Station:
Here there are 3 Dogs. Run alongside the car until you see the first dog jump at you, and shoot. You should
dodge the dog and blast it. Wait there for the other two dogs and blast them in one shot. Run into the Gas
station.
Inside Gas Station:
Here Dario is waiting to be saved. There's a zombie on your left, blast his head off. Run into the back and
stomp on the crawlers head, and then blast the three zombies in one shot. Touch Dario and pick up the
shotgun shells he drops. You should now have at LEAST 21 rounds plus 7 in the shotgun. Leave the gas station.
Outside Gas Station:
Run around the cars and into the gate.
Back Alley 3:
Run down the alley and take the south alley, exit the gate at the bottom.
Main Street:
Here there is a TON of Zombies heading your way. Run right into the middle of the hoarde, and blast away.
You should be able to put them ALL down with 4 shots from your shotgun, gaining a combo bonus of 54 seconds
or more. If any are crawling, avoid them and run down the street past the fire truck. DON'T take the first
door, run down to the second door and go in there.
Small Alley:
