Gamespot has played through the 4 hour build of RE4. They have also released a wave of ingame videos and screenshots.

Info revealed:

Lord Sadler and the Village Chief are 2 separate characters.

There are optional secondary objectives or sub-missions.

The Punisher is a high penetration 9mm handgun. Capcom has declined to use the weapons' real life names as this is a gun we've already seen before. I think it's the Five-seveN Armour Piercing (I seriously doubt Capcom will implement separate 5.7mm ammunition for this gun).

The advanced sniper rifle is indeed the H&K SL9 as predicted by this site, a state of the art weapon which to my knowledge no other game has used before.

Details about puzzles and boss fights are revealed.

We may now be able to break glass/crates with the "A" button instead of having to waste a bullet.

A portrait of what looks to be a hooded figure is seen in several different areas (Leon's handgun hits one in a video). Possible Lord Sadler?

The symbol which has cropped up repeatedly on gates, doors, church spires, etc is can be seen clearly in one of the puzzles shown in a video.

Ada's wiregun is demonstrated. Seeing as she has a laser sight attachment and we know that her wiregun is a useable object later on in the game, then most likely we will get to play as her.

Eggs, snakes and fish are used to restore health.

Screens show all the different interface menus, including a clear shot of the radio/codec.

Videos show lots of new gameplay, areas and cutscenes, including the Village Elder's mansion.

The epilogue files in RE3: nemesis feature Ada, alive and well. In it she is mending her wounds from several days before in Raccoon city, and giving up her ID of Ada, taking a new name and dissapearing into the night. That's all we know after RE2 basically. We're supposed to assume that CLAIRE A and LEON B was the right way through the game, in which Ada is thrown against the triggering system by Mr. X and dies, but she doesn't die only loses conciousness. Then she throws the rocket launcher to leon, and, well, SOMEHOW gets out before the lab blows up, but i don't know how.

oh the character model looked liked the birken women when i was playing as claire...

weird, i didn't think claire even met ada....

Claire meets Anette in the sewers after Ada knocks Anette into the water in Leons game.

Still, Anette dies.

Very odd. In the PS version it's definately Ada. You can see the skirt, hair etc. There's no question. The voice is Ada's too.

I've never played the DC version, maybe it is different.

To help get you into the game, Capcom and Nintendo have apparently created a new "Chainsaw Controller" which is made specifically for the release of Resident Evil 4. The controller has features such as spattered blood, a rock and mud display stand, and built-in speaker that emits a chainsaw sound during usage. It carries a hefty price tag of $49.95 however, which to me seems like an awful lot to shell out for something that looks rather cumbersome for a game controller.

The presidents daughter was kidnapped and it's leons job to track her down with a couple of other secret agents, and then something attacks them causing the car to crash close to the hick town, as is my understanding. Loen wonders through the woods and finds the town.

theres like a million movies and stuff that involves capturing the presidents daughter. so why not make a vid game with it, but that involves insane people and huge monsters.

Well, at the moment, there are no plans to further the series after RE4 and Outbreak 2, which will come out on the PS2. RE4 has been announced to be the last RE game.

But if they did bring some more out in the future it will probably be on the PS3, which will mark the catchup of sony to the rest of the console world.

well, what about the next Nintendo system?

Are there plans for one at the moment?
And if so, will it come out before the PS3?

yeah im prety sure there are plans for a new Nintendo system. i think i might have heard the name of it before, but i cant remember. i doubt it wil come out before PS3 tho.
