You can kill him, oh you can kill him good.
But you cannot take his stuff, and if you kill a merchant then none appear for quite some time, which leaves you in a bad spot if you need to buy a new weapon or something.
Yona
Apr 6 2005, 04:12 PM
Wow, And here I was going to go on a killing spree of merchants.
And is there a part buying thing? where you can buy new stuff?
And do the villagers really have as advanced ai as they say they have?
BurnSide
Apr 6 2005, 04:23 PM
Yes, the AI is quite brilliant. If you hide, the villagers will discuss a different way of getting you, and then work together to get you. They talk to each other, shout out your location, etc etc.
You can buy new parts for some guns, but there is also a level up system for the weapons where you can buy tune-ups with the merchants, to increase the capacity, firepower, reload time etc etc of the weapons.

Apr 6 2005, 04:39 PM
Wait, so if you climb a ladder, they won't just stand there and gawk?
And wasn't the entire premise of resident evil Zombies?
BurnSide
Apr 6 2005, 04:42 PM
If you climb a ladder, and then kick the ladder down and hide on the roof, they will grab more ladders and put them up, then climb up after you. They'll also throw stuff at you.
No. The basic premise of Resident Evil was a secret corportation made a virus that created monsters. The zombies were a side-effect from the virus. Resident Evil was always about conspiracies and viruses.
In RE4 there is a new virus, and it doesn't turn people into zombies, but it still makes monsters and infects people turning them into sub-humans.

Apr 6 2005, 04:47 PM
But I saw the movie and I saw all these cool people walking around trying to bring a bunny back to life.
And I resident evil Zero, I saw this weird dude singing and all these little slug zombies came and crawled up him. Now believe you me, that one guy in the top car who is dead but looks alive was creepier than anything!
BurnSide
Apr 6 2005, 04:58 PM
The movies are different than the games, they don't connect.
The people you saw working on the bunny were not bringing it back to life. They had infected it with the T-virus, and were then injecting it with the anti-virus to see if it was possible to cure the effects of the virus.
Yona
Apr 6 2005, 05:02 PM
Oh.... I see, so the guys were just kinda... creepy.
But what about that guy who was bonding with the slug things in zero?
BurnSide
Apr 6 2005, 05:07 PM
As the story progresses we discover that man is none other than Dr. James Marcus, creator of the Progenitor Virus, which the T-Virus was later created from.
He was assasinated by a young Albert Wesker and William Birkin about 20 years before, and dumped in a river with some of the virus. As the years passed, his rotted corpse was given new life by leaches infected with the Progenitor Virus, and he was able to retake a human form of himself 50 years younger, and come back to destroy Umbrella as revenge for his death.

Apr 6 2005, 05:12 PM
Coolies. In RE2 there was an excellent scene when Umbrella soldiers got killed by William. Is it true one of them was that secret character. hunk?
BurnSide
Apr 6 2005, 05:16 PM
Yes. Hunk survived the onslaught by the BOW Birkin, still with a sample of the G-Virus. He escapes from the sewers to the roof of the police department, where he is picked up and delivers the G sample to Umbrella.
Walken
Apr 6 2005, 05:19 PM
So whats the difference between G and T? From what I've seen, G can produce some ugly so and so's.
BurnSide
Apr 6 2005, 05:23 PM
The main difference between T and G is the monsters they create.
The T-Virus creates Tyrants, Hunters, Chimeras and the like. It also created the Nemesis and Lisa Trevor. Basically, T fuses with cells and creates weapons, generally that have tentacles and whatnot.
G is more advanced, it creates Lickers, Ivys, and BOW mutations. It causes the host to actually become one big super entity, that mutates into various forms, usually sprouting one or two really large eyeballs. G-Mutations also have the ability to reproduce themselves by inpregnating hosts with larva.
Walken
Apr 6 2005, 05:25 PM
...So what was the Tyrant born from from RE? And what was Nemesis created through?
BurnSide
Apr 6 2005, 05:40 PM
Both the Tyrant, Mr X, and the Nemesis, were created using the T-Virus in a lab facility we have not seen in a RE game.
Walken
Apr 6 2005, 05:45 PM
In the movie didn't that turn out to be in Racoon city? Or whatever city RE2 the movie was set in?
BurnSide
Apr 6 2005, 05:46 PM
The RE2 movie was set fully in Raccoon City. Indeed it showed the Nemesis being created in a lab in Raccoon.
However as stated before the movies and games have nothing in comon with each other and both must be viewed as seperate stories.
Walken
Apr 6 2005, 06:01 PM
But maybe they do and you'll find out later in the series...
BurnSide
Apr 6 2005, 06:02 PM
No, they don't. Obviously, since RE3 the game was about as completely different from the movie as you can possibly get.
Walken
Apr 6 2005, 06:23 PM
Ah, yes. But the opening to RE3 was Sweet!
BurnSide
Apr 6 2005, 06:27 PM
Yes. Yes it was.

Apr 6 2005, 06:30 PM
Another question, oh god of scary games.
In RE1 didn't Wesker die?
BurnSide
Apr 6 2005, 06:37 PM
Contrary to actually seeing him die, no he didn't die.

In RE1, one of two things happens to Wesker, depending on what you did in the game:
Either he takes you inside to see the Tyrant, and is stabbed through the body by the Tyrant and left bleeding on the floor, or he is knocked out by Barry, sets off the self-destruct system for the mansion, and is ripped to pieces by Chimeras. You can find his bloody body in the boiler room.
At this time we suspect he is dead. But while Wesker is physically dead, this was actually all part of his plan to defect from Umbrella to another secret organisation. Wesker stole a sample of James marcus's Progenitor virus, and injected himself moments before you discover him at the end of the game. So while he looks dead, inside of him the virus is rebuilding his cell structure and Wesker is able to revive and escape the lab, infected with the virus. He employs Ada Wong to get him a sample of G in RE2, and makes his return in CV, showing his new, true strength.
All this is documented in the 'Weskers Report' a japanese manuscript detailing the plot holes of RE.

So does that mean we'll meet him again?
Neo2005
Apr 6 2005, 06:42 PM
Also in the first RE bok wasn;t Wesker run down by some of those Chimera thins(If that's what they were called)?
It sounded like he died but when he comes back in RE:CV it's a cool scene with him and Claire.
Walken
Apr 6 2005, 06:45 PM
Coolies? Got a script?
How did he betray the stars?

Apr 6 2005, 07:00 PM
Hey BS do you know if any bookstore sells the scripts for the RE games?
That would cool.
I'd buy.

He was in Zero, RE1, Code Veronica and RE4 very briefly.

Yeah, as i said depending on what route you take in the game, Wesker is either killed by the tyrant, or by Chimeras while activating the triggering system.
QUOTE(Walken @ Apr 6 2005, 02:45 PM)

He was apointed as the head of STARS. But in actual fact he was employed secretly by umbrella. He lead the STARS to the mansion in the first game to have them fight against the BOW's and get killed by them.

I doubt it Neo. I've never heard of the scripts for sale. I'm sure if you did a yahoo search you'd come up with the scripts though.

Apr 6 2005, 07:04 PM
Cool.
When was Wesker in RE Zero?
I don;t remember him in that game.
BurnSide
Apr 6 2005, 07:07 PM
In videos only. Quite alot though. The first time we see his is when Rebecca and Billy are still on the train. Wesker and Birkin are sitting in The Hive watching the train on video screens. They're ordering the Umbrella agents on the train to start it up and crash it to remove evidence of the virus outbreak on the train.
Later in the game he explains to birkin that he's got to send the Alpha team in and clear up the mess of the outbreak.
He's also in some flashback scenes with Birkin, assasinating Marcus.
Neo2005
Apr 6 2005, 07:57 PM
Oh yeah now i remember.
How could i forget that.
Wekser wouldbe a cool boss.
But if we acually kill him dead in the next game.
Wo's of the original bad guys is there left to kill?

I'm sure Resident Evil could continue without Wesker.

To many crazy mutations with unimaginable bad guys

It always very weak and stupid.
Except for Ashley when she had to run from the knights. and got to throw lanterns at Ganado's
