Exactly, the first time through, you're barely finding enough ammo to put enemies down.
Not so much that you have 100 of bullets left over to sell.

The real trick was getting to the police station without picking any bullets or anything up, so that you could get the closet key. Now THAT was survival horror!

BS it wasn;t really that hard to get to the police station without picking anything up especially the second time through becuase you already kow the camera angles and stuff.
And RE wasn;'t really all that gory until RE4 came out.IMO

wasn't there a revolver and costume in that closet?
its been so long since re2
BurnSide
Apr 21 2005, 07:13 PM
Yeah, you get to the station without picking anything up, you get to kill the zombie Brad Vickers, and get the closet key. If you play as Claire, there's a costume and Colt SAA. With leon, two costumes.

yeah it shot the same bullets as the handgun, ah brad vickers, didn't nemesis get him though in resident evil 3, i guess thats why he was a zombie in re2
BurnSide
Apr 21 2005, 07:18 PM
That's right.

The first half of RE3, well, technically the first 3/4ths of the game, took place before the events of RE2. Then Jill passes out for a couple days, and wakes up, and the events of RE2 had passed during the night.
Neo2005
Apr 21 2005, 07:18 PM
The story lines of those 2 game were intertwined so i guess it's possible although RE2 was made before RE3.Also Brad did have a huge hole punched through his skull!
BurnSide
Apr 21 2005, 07:20 PM
I know, that's the one flaw. Someone can't come back as a zombie if the brain has been destroyed, so why did Brad?
Neo2005
Apr 21 2005, 07:21 PM
Yeah but i guess they didn't plan for total skull destrution when they made RE2
BurnSide
Apr 21 2005, 07:22 PM
Even still, that's why they put Brad getting killed in RE3, to explain why he was dead in RE2. So don't you think they would have thought to kill him differently in RE3, to actually allow his to come back?

Silly script writers.

No, when jill visited the station, all the doors besides a few where completely boarded up, as well as the courtyard was littered with debris, not to mention the damage Nemesis did, and when Leon/Claire arrive there the next day, theres no sign of boards over the doors, the courtyard is completely clear, etc etc. Go figure. Terrible plot flaws.
Marvin Bragnah was still alive when Jill arrived at the station though, just passed out. He dies when leon gets there.

well maybe they thought nobody would notice, i guess they were wrong, why they didn't just make a direct sequel is beyond me, i mean nemesis to me just seemed like an update of mr x from resident evil 2 scenario b, re3 just didn't seem a fresh game to me, i enjoyed it the least....

I know what you mean Mr Halo mate, indeed when i first played it i found it to be more of an expansion pack or side mission to RE2 myself. But it's grown to be my favourite of the PS RE games, i much prefer it to RE2. The story isn't great, but the gameplay is much better. Nemesis rules, and Jill has tons of moves and stuff not in RE2, plus the graphics are better as well as the enemies themselves, etc.

That storyline was done with sadly.
There's one small mag clipping with reguards to RE5, they say it'll be taking off from the end of Assignment Ada in RE4, where Wesker retrieves the sample of the Las Plagas virus, and uses it to re-create Umbrella.
The story with the STARS, and claire, is apparently finished. Which is sad, becuase they just leave just hanging with Wesker escaping and all that. Boo!

what?
but chris redfield said its pay back time, i want pay back, i mean he had a fighter jet to get pay back with
BurnSide
Apr 21 2005, 08:02 PM
Yeah, but then they decided to scrap that storyline.
At the beginning of RE4, which is 6 years later, it's explained that Umbrella was fined several billion dollars, bankrupting the company, and issued a court order never to do business again, which was shortly after the Raccoon incident.
So Chris didn't actually have anyone to payback.

They always put that at the end of RE games, just so they have something to go on if they did continue.

Jill wasn't scrapped after one game.. she's the main character in two.

RE2: Leon/Claire
RE3: Jill
RECV: Claire/Chris
RE4: Leon
Two games each.

It's a tough one. It seems like Leon would be most likely, i can pretty much garantee it will be either Leon or a new character/characters. Capcom has said the 'old storyline with STARS' is finished.
I'm actually hoping for a new Character myself.
Someone with no experience with the viruses before. Someone who kind of just wakes up one day and finds himself in a world infested with Ganados and mutations, and has to fight to survive in the streets, looking for weapons and ammo, and then later on maybe meeting up with Leon or some other familiar faces, and teaming up with them to take down the newly resurrected Umbrella.

I saw on some site that resident evil 5 might be about A new company called BioTech (i think thats what they sed it was called) following in unbrellas footsteps, freeing some of the scientists from umbrella from jail, and making a new, WAY more powerful virus that could take out the whole western hemisphere in a couple o weeks. didnt say anything about any new characters tho. I do have to say, in screenshots RE2 does look better, but that's because they put less work into the details. In movement, i find RE3 looks brilliant, especially the enemies.
I've never seen the DC versions, so the port may indeed be flawed, but my opinion stands that it looks better. Which makes sense since it came out a year or so after.

Resident Evil Code Veronica is technically the forth installment in the series, it follows the events of Resident Evil 2/3/Outbreak which happened in Raccoon City.
After word got out about the incident in Raccoon City, the President ordered Raccoon nuked, and now it sits as a gaping hole in the land. A court order was placed upon Umbrella, banning them from all research in the future.
However, Umbrella had other secret labs and locations. Just before the outbreak, Chris Redfield travelled to Paris to learn more about an Umbrella HQ there. Claire went to Raccoon looking for Chris, and found out he'd gone to Paris.
Three months later, Claire inflitrates the Paris Umbrella HQ, and is captured by Umbrella. They imprison her on an island, Rockfort, in the middle of the Pacific. However, while she is there, the island is attacked by one of Umbrellas enemies. The T Virus on the island, which was being developed in secret labs, is unleashed on the island. Claire escapes her cell, only to find herself trapped on an island full of zombies and monsters.
As the story goes on, she teams up with a young man called Steve Burnside, and together they escape the island on a plane. But the plane, on auto-pilot, crashes into Antartica by a remote Umbrella base where secret and disturbing experiments were going on involving the virus. After several planes on autopilot crash there, the virus is released, and the base is infected.
Meanwhile, Chris learns of Claires capture, and makes his way to Rockfort, only to find she fled to Antartica. He follows her there, and they team up and escape, blowing the base to bits in the meantime.
There's alot more to it than that, Wesker is in it, etc, but that's the very basics of the story.
