I know we have all seen the "haunted painting" from eBay. I have had my own experience with paintings I think to be linked to ghosts, but in a different way.

A friend of mine from school moved into an old house which, as you would expect, was completely empty ... except from two old sepia paintings which were hanging side by side on the wall in the entrance hall. One male, one female, they seemed to be of the same style, so it would appear that they were of the same family.

They thought that the previous owners had just overlooked removing them so they wrapped them up and stored them in the attic, thinking that their rightful owners would come to claim them.

From the exact moment the paintings were moved from the wall, a constant sound of footsteps could be heard in the house. Despite thorough investigation (running around like headless chickens) no-one could locate the source of this sound.

The footsteps continued, day and night, totally unceasing (as though someone was pacing around) until the paintings were put back where they were found. Nothing more could be heard then. The same has happened every single time either or both of the paintings have been moved from the hall wall.

Also, anyone who looked at the paintings said that they felt like they were being stared at. I know that a lot of old pictures "follow" you around the room, but these made anyone who looked at them feel very uneasy, as though they were staring right back.

I have witnessed all this myself on several occasions.

What do you all think about this?

Interesting story. Do you have any information on the paintings and the people in the paintings?

reminds me of the painting of Sirius Black's mother (Harry Potter) at first. laugh.gif

But yeah, I have a few encounter with paintings, photos that are like that, mostly old ones. They gives out bad vibes crying.gif

I have since lost contact with my friend, and they have since moved out of the house.

All we knew about the previous owner of the house was that she was an elderly woman. The house was two houses at one point, but were converted into one to accomodate a large family. Apparently they didn't stick around for too long though.

No-one seems to be able to find out who the people in the paintings are, how long ago they were created, or who they are actually supposed to belong to.

We also don't know for definate if any of the previous owners have had this experience, we can only presume that thats the reason they were left behind.

No harm ever came to anyone in the house .... it was just weird.
