oddly when I size it down, it boxes together but somebody might have a program that will resize it and doesnt ......in the meantime I tried this one to see if you like it.......

ohhhhhh this one is looking very good!! very close to original!

Isnt that strange how it boxes together?? why does it do that?

It did that to me as soon as i tried to remove even one frame..... perhaps barman or someone else can explain that.

You have truely been a saint! and so patient with this! thank you brigid I really really appreciate how kind and sweet you are to work on this for me!

You like that one? oh awsome.....that makes me happy.......its a nice avatar, and well worth the effort...and who knows, maybe somebody will be able to do it better, but glad you have something you like in the meantime original.gif

isnt that weird??? it goes back into a "block".. I would really like to know why it does that?

and yes I am quite happy with your latest attempt.... it is pretty close to the original... if someone else can come closer that would be great.... but this is very nice as is.... THANK YOU!

Cat thumbsup.gif

Ur welcome original.gif
There may just be some little thing we need to learn that somebody can tell us about that box up thingy........and I'm sure they will tell us and fix it if they do original.gif
CatOutaHell
Well it would be nice to understand that.

And i would love to keep the original avatar if all it needs is fewer pixels to accomplish that.... like 95x95 or whatever..... but just like you experienced as soon as i try to alter down like that.... it turns into a block.

sheesh! LOL!

Maybe barman or someone can fix that and explain why it's happening.

Cat wub.gif
thebarman
Well, I think it's more than about time to add wabbit and sayntbrigid to the animators list in the first post.

Welcome aboard guys thumbsup.gif

Edit: I can answer your block probem/question but I can't solve it as such, well, I can but so can you really.

What's happening is you've got an avatar of 115 x 115 pixels shrinking down to 100 x 100. A pixel is a block of colour, a teeny tiny block of colour. The smallest block of colour your monitor can display.

So when you shrink something from 115 pixels down to 100, the computer has to pick out 15 pixels that will disappear. (actually technically it removes 3225 pixels but that doesn't really matter, if you want me to explain why then I can, but that will take longer).

What I'm trying to say in this rather tedious and long winded way, is that the computer picked out the little white lines in the avatar as the pixels to disappear, as it deemed them to be the least important. The only way to get them back that I can see is to draw them in again AFTER the avatar has been compressed.

Hope that helps people wacko.gif

thanx sayntbrigid made me chuckle

It makes me chuckle too.........glad you like it ..... grin2.gif

great job on both avvies, Saynt! thumbsup.gif

I tried my hand at CatOutaHell's avvy and was successful in making it 95X95 but the file somehow grew to 16KB (?!?!) [attachmentid=20291]

to make it, I used 2 programs I've found on the net (free ones) called "giffy" and "unfreeze" with the help of Animation Shop. I opened your cool animation in Animation Shop, resized them to 95X95 pixels, saved the frames as .bmp files and opened each frame in "giffy" and made them "gif files" (I did this because when I saved frames as .gif files from Animation Shop, the colours were way off), then opened them in my "unfreeze" program and created the animated file with that program.

I have no idea why after resizing your animation from 99X99 pixels to 95X95 pixels, it grew to 16KB tho disgust.gif

click on the pic in the post and the large animated one will come up.......

you should right click and save it to your pictures and then save it to a free storage site like www.photobucket.com or avataravenue.com both sites will list the url under the pic for you to copy paste into your profile.

Just as a helpfull note, I organised this thread so it could be easily navigated, all help needed is linked to the first post. Threads on animating, on getting avatars to work, rules for animating and galleries of work.

Saint and wabbit, if you'd like to show off your work so far simply post all your avatars into one post, and I'll link it next to your names in the first post like I've done with the other animators thumbsup.gif

It's also a good way of keeping track of how many avatars we've all done.
sayntbrigid
OK, thanx Barman, I will get that organized original.gif

nice work there Saint thumbsup.gif

Yep, that's the idea. Although remember you can only fit ten avatar's in one post, it won't let you add more unless you upload them as attachments instead. If you look at the difference between UniversalAbsurdity's gallery and mine you see what I mean.

He uploaded them, I linked them, which you choose is entirely up to you.

You might like to add the names of the people you did them for, up to you again of course, I'll link that post now.
sayntbrigid
Hehe, thanx, but I will always be "animator in training" ......I have so much to learn.....

Alright, I see that now Barman.......all fixed , and thank you again.......sincerely original.gif
sayntbrigid
I will remember to keep track of the people I made them for and add the names for the ones I can find original.gif

OK all linked, and remember saint, we are all animators in training, I learnt everything I know here, over the past year, same with the other animators. None of us are perfect and Pixar still haven't employed me! tongue.gif

lol laugh.gif how cool would that be!? Imagine it, the funky offices, the secret love lairs and the monkeys!

Can you get any ruder? disgust.gif

In case you haven't noticed, these fine people do this for free and in their own time, show a little respect.
wrighty
I told you a few pages back now Kratos has had to tell you again. These people are great at this and will give everything a shot. But its not possible to do everything and all the time. Just try giving it ago then you will see.
thebarman
Master of Geeks, while I'm hoping you didn't mean to be as rude as you came across, might I point out from my humble animating opinion that a black outline is a two dimensional object, and the "2" in your avatar has very cleverly been made three dimensional.

You can't put a black outline on a 3 dimensional object, it doesn't work.

Think about it wacko.gif
