Yesterday i bought OXM and it came with the demo of silent hill 4 - its really scary admitablly im 14 and a girl (although thats sexist but i get spooked easily) so itll prob scare me more than others depending on ur age ive played Silent Hill1 and thast all im getting number 2 but they dont do number 3 on xbox so... anyway

MAY CONTAIN SPOILER:::::::::::

on silent hill 4 it freaks you coz in one bit (the start) you go into the bathroom and climb thru a hole it takes u too another "dimension" and you see this girl called cynthia shes saying that your in her dream and everything and then you walk round the corner she starts saying shes gonna puke and runs into the girls toilets (may i add this isny a skip around a park its really scary atmosphere) you wait for a min then the boys toilets door opens then this Kinda hell hound things flys out and 2 others come after it and start sucking its insides out... sorry but that really freaked me lolololol

The game i think is gonna be long as it took me 43mins to complete the demo! dontgetit.gif blink.gif
jpalz
First of all, hi!

Now, it's alright if you get scared by Silent Hill. In fact, that's the purpose of the game. With Silent Hill 1 I got so scared that I even turned off the Playstation grin2.gif.
And yes, SH4 is really scary...
BurnSide
Hey i just realised something.

I don't know if maybe i haven't seen that part yet... but in the trailer there is a part with the ghost of Cynthia coming round a corner crawling on her stomach and breathing really loud. I haven't seen that part in the game which is a shame because i think that was the part that would have freaked me out the most.
ChrisC098
Burnside that was in the subway the second time I thought.
BurnSide
Nope.
In the subway, second time, you see her body, and then she rises, and comes through the bars, and then attacks you.

It did not show her crawling on her belly really fast towards you breathing loudly.
ChrisC098
Maybe they took that out. I thought those wheel chairs would be really creepy but they werent.
BurnSide
Yeah. I thought this GAME would be creepy and scary, but it wasn't!!
ChrisC098
Most of the scare is well there isnt much but the only really creepy thing is all the children locked up and stuff. I didnt like that much.
Janiel
i still havent gotten a controler, due to the fact he doesnt have it anymore sad.gif

now i need to wait and buy one of my own....

Tried to hard to be disturbing, ended up failing miserably.

Jan, surely you can master the keyboard! Well, gives you plenty of time to read though the revisted story at least. laugh.gif
ChrisC098
Jan why did you get it on computer anyway?

I was actually laughing during the city world when I first saw the monkeys. YOU FIGHT MONKEYS!
BurnSide
I think actually they're a monster kinda like the nurses in the original SH.

Their chests are exposed outward and wriggling seperately to their bodies, whichs suggests maybe they were people taken over by these parasites. (Thier faces are human too). The fact that they act and sound like monkeys is maybe a mockery of the fact that humans evolved from monkeys, as opposed to the demons who are outside evolution.
ChrisC098
Hmm thats very interesting.
BurnSide
All the monsters in all the games have meanings representing something about that character OR the character who made them.

EXAMPLE:
Dogs, SH1 = Had no skin, representing the fact that Alessa was burned horribly.
Children, SH1 = Alessa hated the kids because they picked on her.
Mannequins, SH2 = Represent James' lust for Maria and repulsion of Mary.

SH4 = Dogs, represented the hatred Walter felt for all life.
ChrisC098
Plus the animals represent the animals in the zoo that scared allesa.
BurnSide
Exactly. All representations of something or other. Alot of thought has been put into it, just sometimes you can't piece it all together yanno? Silent hill 4 really is fantastic in terms of story and the like. It just lacks in playability and stuff.
ChrisC098
Thats why I think it would make a great movie. It should have a great story and be really scary. Or it could have a really bad story and be full of action or something. I dont see this movie being ok. Its either going to rule or blow monkey chunks.
BurnSide
I think it'll be good. better than the Resident Evil movies.

The thing about Resident Evil: Apocalypse is the director had probably never even played a Resident Evil game, just saw a popular franchise and decided to make money off it. So what they did was throw a really hot woman into it wearing high heels and a mini-skirt and calling her Jill. Then they threw a ton of big guns and explosions in there, and called it Resident Evil. Capcom did not grant it the seal of approval but allowed it to be released with the name anyway.

With Silent Hill, Konami and Team Silent Hill are working VERY closely with the director, producer etc to ensure that it will not be some stupid hollywood action flick, but a true creepy disturbing Silent Hill game.
ChrisC098
Good I better not be able to sleep for a week or else I wont be happy tongue.gif
BurnSide
EXACTLY.

What do you think so far, btw:

Harry reached up, touched his head. His hand came away sticky and wet. Blood. What just happened? Had it all been a dream? He sat up with a start, remembering suddenly the skinless body clutching him, the tiny white bodies, the pain. The pain was incredible! He reached down and felt around his white shirt under the brown bomber jacket. Nothing. No blood, no pain, no stab wounds. He breathed a sight of relief and realised he was in strange surroundings. He had been lying on a leather seat of a booth in somekind of restaurant. A few tables, chairs, a counter at the far end. How had he gotten here?
He let his eyes slowly adjust to the bright white light coming in the window behind him. He looked out, saw the thick suffocating fog was still there. But it wasn't dark, it was light out. And, was it snowing? Sure enough has he stared he watched tiny snowflakes fall though the white mist and settle lightly onto the black road and melt away to nothing. It wasn't settling but the fact that it was snowing was strange enough. It was august! He stood up from the leather couch and tried to piece his mind together. He remembered the cop's bike discarded along the road, the woman in blue shielding her face as she stepped out infront of him. That woman, had he hit her? Was she fleeing the town because of some catastrophic event that had made everyone evacuate? And then he had gone over the cliff. What happened after that? Did he dream the whole alley?
The bell at the entrance to the restaurant dinged and the door opened simutaniously. Harry suddenly tensed himself, expecting a man to walk in with no skin and no eyes or something like that. He cursed his vivid imagination as a pretty blonde woman entered the diner instead, gently closing the glass door behind her. She was wearing black leather biker pants and a leather jacket to match, and held a white helmet in one had. He immediately recognised her as the police officer who had passed him on the road last night! The officer who minutes later had discarded her bike recklessly for some unknown reason. He watched her cross to the counter and place her helmet down, and strip off her leather jacket revealing a dark blue cop shirt with a badge and a pair of big round sunglasses sticking out of her shirt pocket. She noticed him then, and with a smile walked towards Harry kind of like a woman walks up to a small lost child to ask him where his mother is. She folded her arms, still wearing leather gloves, and inspected him closely.
"How are you feeling?" She asked. Her tone startled Harry. She was the first thing that made sense in this crazy town since he'd gotten here. He looked at her delicate features for a few seconds, formulating a response. How was he feeling? He had no idea. But she was patient, Harry noticed her blink blue eys at him and flick a blonde strand over her ear.
"Like i've been run over by a speeding truck I guess." He finally replied. "But i think i'm okay. One hell of a hangover."
"Glad to see you're up and about. You've been there for a couple hours. I found you just outside, looks like you took a nasty bump." She gestured to his small headwound Harry got from the crash, then turned around and took a seat on one of the barstools, crossing her legs. "You from around here?" she asked him. "Why don't you tell me what happened. I saw you on the road, right?"
Harry nodded, and took a seat beside her, ready to tell his tale. "I'm just a tourist" he began, remembering that he was actually here on vacation. Some vacation. "I came here for a vacation with my daughter. After you passed me last night, a woman stepped out infront of my Jeep. I swerved to miss her, went over the cliff. That's pretty much all of it." He decided he liked this young cop and certainly didn't want to scare her off with insane stories of dead bodies getting up and naked children stabbing him in the darkness of some weird other dimension. "I don't know how I got outside this diner." he added, truthfully. The cop seemed to accept his story, he watched her ease up a little. She must have thought he was driving drunk or something.
She nodded to him, and then turned her neck to look out the window.
ChrisC098
Pretty good. thumbsup.gif
BurnSide
Thanks.
It's rought of course. I'll be editing it and stuff.
ChrisC098
I look forward to seeing the finished product. thumbsup.gif
BurnSide
I've added more to chapter too. Added it to the Novel thread.
Man, this whole conversation with Cybil is gonna take up a whole chapter.

As i was rewriting the dialogue i realised how incredibly horrible the script for SH1 really is. I've had to make ALOT of changes just to make it make sense.
ChrisC098
That radio.......................What's happening to that radio.
BurnSide
*giggles*
EXACTLY.

This is not a dream!
ChrisC098
I think its a toss up between silent hill and resident evil.
BurnSide
In other news, CHAPTER TWO IS COMPLETE!!!

I ended the chapter after the fight with the bird demon in the diner.
ChrisC098

ChrisC098
How about this one?
jpalz

As for the book BS, I'm reading it, so as soon as I finish I'll comment it ASAP. And I'm working on the SH2 project, just watched the beggining again. I might take a little, but not as much as with the post for the music debate!!!! laugh.gif
