I know. What kind of game has trailer that gives you nightmares and then is a game you can play in the dark with a physco killer next to you and not be scared.
Janiel
Oct 14 2004, 08:39 PM
a crappy one im guessing........
BurnSide
Oct 14 2004, 08:50 PM
Yeah i was dead scared when i watched the trailer?
What's the difference with the game and trailers?
The SOUNDS. It was the sounds that freaked me out, but those sounds were not in the game.
Janiel
Oct 14 2004, 08:50 PM
why would they take the sounds out of the game?!?
ChrisC098
Oct 14 2004, 08:51 PM
I know. I would lay in my bed at night and here those noices and be scared crapless. Stupid Konami.
BurnSide
Oct 14 2004, 08:52 PM
They didn't take the sounds out. The ADDED sounds into the trailer.
Like, moaning and screaming and heavy breathing etc.
Janiel
Oct 14 2004, 08:54 PM
basically false advertising?
BurnSide
Oct 14 2004, 08:54 PM
Almost.
ChrisC098
Oct 14 2004, 08:55 PM
I think it would have been alot creepier if they had random breathing out of nowhere.
BurnSide
Oct 14 2004, 09:45 PM
And the moaning sounds and stuff.

Oct 14 2004, 09:47 PM
BS maybe if you get your book published they will ask you about the games.

Oct 14 2004, 09:49 PM
Dude, if they had ME working on a game, well, you can damn well believe it'll be scary.
Check this out:
The game starts and you are in a forest. You can go anywhere in this forest. It is pitch black and you only have a small flashlight to guide you. You hear things in the forest around you, breathing, moaning, rustling, but you don't see anything.
You start following a path of bloody deformed trees and come across an ancient wooden shack.. things keep darting in and out of the light of your flashlight but you can't quite see what they are...

If you ever work on one. Never have monkeys or burping nurses. *Nods*

Oct 14 2004, 09:54 PM
Agreed.
*shakes head*
Or crappy wheelchairs.
ChrisC098
Oct 14 2004, 09:59 PM
Yeah. Or big heads with crossed eyes.
and you must have many different layers of the story.

It must not make sense!

Oct 14 2004, 10:19 PM
Oh it will make sence. After you play through it seven times. Then read a plot analysis. Then talk about it on this forum for a month.
jpalz
Oct 14 2004, 10:39 PM
Maybe. But I found that the story for SH4 had many layers on it. I mean, thinking about it I still find some new stuff in it. Just my two cents on it.... *goes back to writing SH2 story*

sounds evil dead-esque. cool.

Yeah i guess it does sort off. It's the shack. All great horrors start off with the shack.
chico del nacho
Oct 14 2004, 11:00 PM
seriously, you can't have a game or movie in the woods without a shack.
the bit about that that made me think of evil dead was the sounds and the atmosphere, really. oh and the trees, those creepy trees...

Just a quick question (don't know if it has been done before): Like they're apparently doing a movie based on SH2, who should be in the movie? I think Dakota Fanning would be good as Laura.

The raping tree, Chico?

jpalz, where did you hear the movie was based on SH2? I think that's the worst mistake they could make personally.

Oct 14 2004, 11:03 PM
There was an update in IGN that I posted here some many pages ago. And if they do it right, it will be a great movie
BurnSide
Oct 14 2004, 11:06 PM
I don't have much faith that they can do it right.
And the game itself is pretty much a movie, why remake it? That's pointless. We'd be watching the same thing with worse acting and effects.

Laura? Whos that?

In all honesty, Resident Evil 2 was crap for me too poop on concerning how well they did the characters and exerts from the games.
But it was still entertaining and good. You just gotta look at the games outside the movies.

They wont go bankrupt. Konami isn't financing the movie. Like Capcom, they paid paid any profits from the movie (royalites) but it doesn't affect them financially.

Silent Hill has to end some time. even tho its a sad thought, its gonna get old after awhile because theyre just gonna keep making new stories and people are gonna get confused and not wanna play them anymore. i think we are some of a few people that doesnt want this to happen, but we all know its going to sooner or later.
BurnSide
Oct 15 2004, 12:04 AM
SH4 is a good example of this.
Put it this way:
The reason why there was a Red Wheelchair in both SH1 and SH3 was because Alessa sat in a red wheelchair as a burned corpse for a long time. It was in her nightmares.
Now, WHY was there a red wheelchair or several in SH4? It doesn't make any sense, it has nothing to do with Alessa!
This is the kind of continuity error that konami will continue to make after awhile.
Just like RE, the SH games are gonna die away very soon.
Shakezulah
Oct 15 2004, 12:10 AM
RE can never die. because they dont make completly new storylines a lot of the time, people will be more interested in finding out what happens. i think that there are more Re fans than there are of SH fans. RE will probably be around for awhile longer than SH will
BurnSide
Oct 15 2004, 12:12 AM
Technically, Resident Evil is already dead. The storyline is extinguished, Umbrella wiped out, Raccoon city a fading memory.
RE4 is 6 years later and while it has a familiar character, it's an entirely new place, new story, new type of game even. If they called it something other than Resident Evil you could barely be able to tell it was RE.
That been said, i wonder what will come after Re4, if anything?
Janiel
Oct 15 2004, 12:14 AM
so why are they trying to make more SH and RE games?
money?
ChrisC098
Oct 15 2004, 12:15 AM
No I wont accept it
Shakezulah
Oct 15 2004, 12:17 AM
im sure there will be one awesome great kick ass RE finaly game that will tie up everything in a few years. now that i will be looking forward to, and not be looking forward to it at the same time. but RE is Capcoms biggest thing and itll still be around for a long time, theyre just gonna slow down on the game making so they can continue to come up with new story plots and make the games great.
Janiel
Oct 15 2004, 12:18 AM
couldnt it just go on as long as Umbrella still exists?
BurnSide
Oct 15 2004, 12:22 AM
That's just it, Umbrella doesn't exist anymore.
Shakezulah
Oct 15 2004, 12:22 AM
yeah it could, but RE4 has nothing to do with Umbrella so its something entirely new
