See the pictures with buildings having the words 'Silent Hill' somethingorother on them? They're really pulling out all the stops to make the town exactly like SH.

Yeah, but too many windows and stuff are boarded up. Silent Hill was not victim to a zombie plague. Humans did not linger. They vanished.

Indeed you are correct. It happened instantaniously, dinners were still left on tables.
Good eye, i didn't notice so much was boarded up. Although in the game tehre are some areas like that too, just like in every town. Perhaps it's just for a small specific area that was abit slummy in the time of the town.

But evreything looks rundown. This was not true of Silent Hill. The hospital was still clean, the school was still in good condition.

Indeed, and i'm sure they will be in good condition too, but i found the Industrial area of Silent Hill in the game itself to also be very run-down looking. The Residential area, where you start, was well kept with neat little houses and the like, but the Industrial area was a little run down looking.

Oh, yes it was. But it still looked like there was people there that same day. Those sets look like they've been abandoned for months.

In SH2 some areas were strange. The mobile home in the middle of the road, for instance, or the papers pasted on neelys bar. But that indicated that James was not the only one liveing through the horror.

what i want to know is what the silent hill series is even about? i played the demo of "the room" and there werent even any bad guys just blood and a big pulsating tube. stupid bus station.

Silent Hill can't really be explained, needless to say SH4 is the forth installment, and you're not gonna get it if you haven't played the previous titles.

I think SH 2 would be the best choice for a newbie. SH1 can follow.

I disagree, i think that playing SH1 allows the person to understand SH2 a little better at least.

SH1 sets the scene, SH2 tells the story.

It doesn't matter where do you start, SH1 and SH2 are equally great games!!

im at the hospital in sh4, so far the game is pretty good, but like you guys have been saying, its no sh2, im not so sure how much i like the idea that basically everything is haunted by ghosts rather than henry's own twisted mind...well i guess its a little of both 3 1/2 hours into it, and im at the half way point (the new hole in the laundry room)

The monsters in Silent Hill were a lot more stereptype horror monsters and a lot less symbolic.

i liked them tho. they creeped me out. especially when the flying things would come out of the fog next to you and suprise you with a nice kick in the head. scary stuff right there.

I think Walken was referring to the monsters in SH4 being just stereotype horror monsters, wereas the other SH games were symbolic and evil creatures, alot better.

Just read pet cemterey again. It reminds me very much of SH2...

i hate the sh4 monsters, the only ones that are "silent hillish" are the patient monsters, the wall monsters, and maybe the demons


im on the 2nd part of the forest world but i had to bring the game back, im gonna pick it up this weekend again and finish it off

He's on the second part of the forest world. You go there in the first part, so he was at 'Wish' HOPE House ages ago.

I HATE that they changed the name from Hope House to Wish House.

im guessing that im going to have to go to the crime scenes of each stage now in order to progress through the game..im getting to the point where i really cant wait until i beat the damn thing lol

You just basically have to get from the beginning to the end of each area, like you did before, except this time you have crazy ass Walter and the ghost that was killed in the area following you.

Hey burnside, is there a three pack for x-box? I have heard about this, but havn't got any proof of it's existence.

Never heard of any kind of box set of Silent Hill.
A quick search of most game retailers tells me that there isn't, although i may be wrong. There IS a box set of Resident Evil for GC, which includes RE 0,1,2,3 and CV, for 100 bucks approx. But that doesn't come up on retailer sites either.

So short answer no, with a maybe.

Play it. I did recently for the first time in quite awhile. After not playing for some time, it's really quite an awesome experience.

I would, But I am trying to get fatal frame, I heard it was a great game, sure to scare, but I don't even know the plot. Is it any good?

FF is amazing, even if it is rather simple. I've only played it for 10 mins or so, but it's really good for a scare.

In ten minutes it scared you? how?

Well my mate was playing it through, and offered for me to play a little so i took up where he left off just for 10 mins. Naturally, he let me play through a really scary part, which is what i would have done too. I don't want to give anything away since you're planning on renting it, the awesome thing about this game is it scares you because you don't know anything about it beforehand.

Been looking for Silent Hill 5 stuff today. Found little other than rumors.
