Apr 27 2005, 11:11 PM
Yeah, i know.

You're welcome.
God i'm DYING to see some monster sketches.
What do you guys think of the actress who plays Cybil? I think she can pull it off.
jpalz
Apr 27 2005, 11:15 PM
Deborah Kara Unger? I've got faith on her.
I also believe Radha Mitchell will make a good performance, though I've only seen only one movie in which she acted ("Pitch Black")
BurnSide
Apr 27 2005, 11:17 PM
I think Natasha Henstridge from Ghosts of Mars would have made a much better choice though.

For some reason i'm having trouble posting the one i wanted to.
Hold up, i'll get another one.
BurnSide

Not a very good pic.
But whenever i watch the movie, she always reminds me of Cybil.

Apr 27 2005, 11:55 PM
i like angelina jolie....but i dont think her playing the lead would be "realistic" as she is not so average looking, if you get what im saying, excellent finds BS, i absolutly can not wait for this movie to come out
Shakezulah
Apr 29 2005, 12:46 AM
yeah ur right BS, Natasha Henstridge does look a lot like Cybil. she would be great to play her in the movie, but o well. man i havent watched GoM in so long.

Walken
Apr 29 2005, 05:51 PM
Yup. He's quite a good actor too, if you look beyond the mainstream, that is.
I'm actually thinking more and more about how it might not be too bad. It won't be the masterpeice I'm sure it could be, but it will be good to watch. I'm just worried they'll pull a RE on it.
BurnSide
Apr 29 2005, 05:57 PM
I seriously doubt it, and i'm quite skeptical to videogame movies.
I mean, they haven't made a good one yet, so it's any wonder.

But i seriously think this will be done well.
Walken
Apr 29 2005, 05:59 PM
Well SH gives them the ammunition, of course.
BurnSide
Apr 29 2005, 09:27 PM
Indeed, but Resident Evil game the movie makers the ammuntion too, and they turned it into blanks.

hey all! I haven't had the chance to play SH2 in a while (i've been out of town) but last thursday my cousin went out and bought me Silent Hill the first one!

I can't play it yet though. I can't find my PS1 memory card!
BurnSide
May 2 2005, 02:47 PM
Yay for SH1! Hope you get to play it soon, it's a really awesome game, once you get past the outdated graphics.
Walken
May 2 2005, 03:46 PM
Yup. But remember, at the time the graphics were pretty awesome. And the FMV's were way ahead of their time.
BurnSide
May 2 2005, 03:54 PM
No kidding. The FMV's still are pretty awesome even for todays standards.
Walken
May 2 2005, 04:20 PM
Yup, I downloaded them all. Some are compare-able to FF10 in quality.
ChrisC098
May 2 2005, 08:21 PM
I borrowed Silent Hill 1,2,3 and the RERemake today. Time to hang a blanket over my window and turn off the lights.
Walken
May 2 2005, 08:28 PM
You'll enjoy them, most certainly. But pay extra attention to SH 1 + 2 and ignore 3.
ChrisC098
May 2 2005, 08:31 PM
Just because it's not the greatest doesnt mean it doesnt need love. Ignore 4.
Walken
May 2 2005, 08:33 PM
Lol

Ah, touche.
Saying that, 3 isn't all bad. In fact some of it is compare-able to SH 2.
BurnSide
May 2 2005, 09:47 PM
I've been playing through 3.
The first 3 areas are sucky. The hospital is much better than the previous hospitals, it's downright scary!
Shakezulah
May 2 2005, 09:53 PM
i thought the amusement park was quite scary the first time around. i dont remember the hospital in that game much tho.
BurnSide
May 2 2005, 10:03 PM
The haunted house!

May 2 2005, 10:12 PM
o yeah! that place was chessy, but i jumped a lot there. and that death cloud of gas was dumb.
BurnSide
May 3 2005, 12:48 AM
Yeah that was lame, but both the body falling down and the ceiling coming down were both very unexpected and really neat.
Shakezulah
May 3 2005, 12:49 AM
yeah those 2 things really made me jump, and so did the growling noise from inside that one room where the dog was sacrificed.

Spoilers
BS could you explain why James killed Mary it's always confused me.
Also in video and on the back and such you can see something that looks to me like hundreds of maniquins/leg monsters squirming around. Do you ever see this in the game? If not any ideas on it?
BurnSide
May 3 2005, 01:46 AM
No you dont, but it is Mannequins and stuff.
Walken will be able to give you a better summary of them.

James killed Mary for two reasons, as he states when he watches the video.
Firstly, and less of all, he killed her because he did not want to see her suffering anymore. Mary had a disease which slowly ate away her brain and insides, and over the course of 3 years, causing Mary extreme pain to which the only end could be death. It's a horribly slow and painful way to die. So James finished her quickly.
The second reason being, that James was suffering himself. James married a woman who was beautiful and kind and a joy to be around, but since she got the disease, the last three years James had spent alone, in torment, seeing his once beautiful wife as now a hideous disgusting monster who would only scream profanities at him whenever he went to visit. Marys disease was killing James inside as well. So, for reasons of selfishness, anger, etc he killed Mary, to put her, if you will, out of HIS misery.

May 3 2005, 01:49 AM
Woah. Another question. Does doing maria's story do anything for the main story?
BurnSide
May 3 2005, 02:12 AM
You mean her 'mini-game' Restless Dreams?
It explains how she was born, and what happened to her before meeting James, that's all.
Walken
May 3 2005, 06:38 AM
The haunted house was cool but they could have done a lot more. And that red smog thing was lame.

that body in there thoughy freaked me out, i loved how you had to fight that thing on the carosel while it was moving...to me that was just so "silent hill"

Walken
May 4 2005, 04:49 PM
But I didn't like the idea of fighting her with lots of weapons other and other again.
BurnSide
May 4 2005, 04:56 PM
'Over' and over again, not other and other.

Yeah that was kinda silly. But important to the story nonetheless.
Walken
May 4 2005, 05:01 PM
Myyyy Mistake. Yup.
I didn't like sub machine guns being in the game either. In went all action-y on me.
BurnSide
May 4 2005, 05:12 PM
I completely agree. Too, well, Resident Evil. It works well in a survival horror with onslaughts of zombies, but in Silent Hill? No, the weapons should be limited to the very bare essentails, and things that you would normally find. Handguns, maybe a rifle, knifes and poles, etc.
Walken
May 4 2005, 06:45 PM
Yuppers.
Over-the-top-ness works well in GTA and RE, but in SH it's just tacky. Especially when you're unloaded a sub machine gun into a monster three times your size....
