I got rid of the demons but couldnt save eileen. Oh well she deserves to die for walking so slow.

Yeah.
The faster she walks into the thing that kills her depends on how injured she got in the game, apparently.

I got the "good" ending, you know, where you save Eileen but you don't get rid of the demons. Barely made it though

Another great moment from the game is when you open a hole in your room, after finishing the town world for the second time, and the surprise that awaits you there.... totally creepy!!

May 6 2005, 10:40 PM
If you don't want to have spoilers on the story, don't read.
After the town world you go back to those stairs, finally reaching the bottom. It's your room, in the past, without the rust or ghosts, just lots and lots of candles. Suddenly, a head appears from the roof. It's Joseph, the previous owner of the room. He tells you that you have to kill Walter (besides, you ge the remainings of his diary). In this room you find an item (a pickaxe I believe) resting on the wall between the bedroom and the bathroom. There's also a hole leading to your room. When you come back to your room, use the pickaxe in the same place where you found it in the "other side". You'll make a hole.
When you enter, you will find Walter's dead body, crucified (Jesus-like), with blood all around him. You have to look in his pockets for the keys to liberation, that will actually open the chains in your room, leading you to the final act.

May 6 2005, 10:42 PM
So.. Walter was dead all along.. man this story doesn't make any sense at all. At least the other ones fitted in. This one is just silly, it's like they tried to make it as confusing and freaky as possible without actually trying to make it make sense.
jpalz
May 6 2005, 10:45 PM
It makes sense actually. He sacrificed himself as part of his ritual, but came back to finish the job so he could be again with his "mother", the room. That's why you find him in your room.
The worst ending only reinforces my theory

[FONT=Geneva] Hello Silent Hill fans. I am an author and have currently been working on a Silent Hill novel, NOT A GRAPHIC NOVEL, based on the popular video game series. Konami and I have worked closely on this project, however I have been given nearly complete freedom with this idea. I have worked on the novel for about a year now. It follows the story of Alessa, Heather, and Dahlia Gillespie more so than Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 4: The Room's plot lines that in many ways wander off onto a different path away from the story of "God".
My story has two major characters, a boy named Jerry and a girl named Melody, who are teenagers and are deeply in love. However, both of the two lovers are called to the town of Silent Hill by an unknownn force and encounter the evils that haunt the dark alleys of the town. I am added a close, romantic bond between two characters that has not been seen before besides James's undying love for his murdered wife Mary. These characters are teens, which makes them full of emotions and also careless, and I believe really builds for the story. This plot has may twists and several surprises. I have tried my hardest to follow the game's story very closely. I have created a very game-like experience, also, having the main characters search for items to use in deserted areas such as schools, hospitals, and parks while being chased by creative yet horrifying monsters.
I thought all of you guys would be interested in this... I signed up to this site to post this article, so give me any ideas/questions/compliments, etc.

Hello Commander_Cornett, welcome to the board and the topic at hand.

Your novel sounds really great!

To Burnside: Indeed he did. I think it's more of a symbol, Walter so closely attached to his room that even though he died his soul wouldn't be too far away from his room, where he was born. You can find more on Walter's birth in the final stage, where you can listen to fragments of the discussion Walter's parents had just before leaving him. The lyrics of "Room of Angel" are Walter's mother's goodbye.
To Commander Cornett: Hello there! Well, the whole idea sounds good, but how you do it is what really matters. Anyways, I hope the best for ya!

Oh okay, that kinda makes sense.
How does it go..
Here's a lullaby to close your eyes,
It was always you that i despised.
I don't care enough for you to cry,
Here's a lullaby to say goodbye...
Wow, that's actually pretty cool.
So, Walter was his first victim to start the ritual? It would explain why he only existed in the 'other' realm.

I knew he killed himself in jail, by sticking a spoon in his neck, but i had no idea he killed himself AGAIN in the room..

How did he get in the room?
Was it before Henry moved in?
In that case, what happened to the body?
None of it adds up.

May 7 2005, 03:41 AM
wasnt it only speculated that he killed himself? because all of the additional murders after walters death knew specifiks that not just any copycat could have known....of coarse it could always have been his spirit comming back and finishing the unfinished business rather than himself in the flesh

There was a body in jail.
How can there be two bodies of Walter Sulivan??
seeking
May 7 2005, 03:55 AM
^that is a good question, i was unaware of the body being found in the cell, is the dead body of walter discovered in the "real" world or the alternate world? if its in the alternate world it will make a little more sense, but if its in the real world then i think you just discovered a pretty large plot hole

As I said, for me it's more of a symbol. Walter knew he had to sacrifice himself in order to finish the 21 Sacraments. He has been dead all along, but he will do everything to go back to his "mom", the room. And for that he has to kill Henry and Eileen, who are the Last Sacraments. That's why he appears there and there.
In the end the story is about a man who doesn't want to be alone anymore (Henry) and a man who wants to be with his mother again (Walter).
My 2 cents on it

ive never put to much thought into this, but lets break it down as to what the town is composed of
its wooded, it has a lake, it has to be somewhere more northern as it has cold seasons, and a long history
im not very good in history or geography but my guess would be that it is in one of the 13 original colonies of the united states soley due to the history of the town, im not sure how much of a history canada has though, because i think canada would make more sense, being more wooded and all but im def thinking somewhere north east of N america

But where did evreyone go? Why is no one looking for Silent Hill? It's like the entire world vanished around it.

May 8 2005, 07:21 PM
My take on that is that Silent Hill is extremely isolated. It's in the mountains, around a very small lake, Toluca Lake. There are two ways to Silent Hill, from the north, and the south.
As such, Silent Hill, due to it's isolation and difficulty to reach, doesn't have much contact with the outside world. Indeed only a few neighbouring towns may know of it's existance at all!
Those towns have sent people to Silent Hill, only to discover they cannot get into Silent Hill.
And the people that do find a way in, don't come back..
Walken
May 8 2005, 07:26 PM
Well that was my take in my screenplay. Because they couldn't get to Silent Hill they got stuck.
...But Silent Hill is a resort town. It's got to be pretty popular. Remember, there are tourists a-plenty to sell drugs to and a theme park that can afford to mantain itself with profit. It's obviously an on-the-markest resort town as it has its fair share of tourists and attractions...

I have played one of the previous versions of the game. The game is spooky & creepy not terrifying. It has its fair share of thrills & chills but it is definitely not the pants-wetting terrifying kind.I bought the game & I have played it only twice because it started to bore me.

You obviously haven't been playing right. Silent Hill is the alternative to games like RE and House of the dead. It is literally a horror. IT's so scary, the story is so absorbing, that you forget all about the at-time shoddy graphics, the hulky controlls and the blank moments. Only with a game like Silent Hill could two gamers have a ten page discussion over whether ot not Pyramid Head is a reflection of the protaganist.

perhaps silent hill is sort of like Salem, MA, its a really small town and yet still a tourist attraction, soley on its history (the witch trials especially)
Walken

Actually Silent-Hill is a tourist town because of it's anti-history. The town became really commercalised and tourist-y, which the oldies didn't like
