Who's Amy Baldwin? That history site states that she fell from the attic while hiding a present for her dad and her dad has tried to resurrect her ever since
BurnSide
SHe's in the Maria SH2 mini-game only. She's exactly who it states, a little girl who feel from an attic, who's dad tried to ressurect ever since.
Commander_Cornett
Ah... see i never played the X-box version.

When Allessa was burned was she in a coma or what? I thought she was in a coma.
BurnSide
Physically, she was in a coma. But she was still mentally aware.
Commander_Cornett
Okay that's what i believed... i read on a few sites however that she wrote in a diary and talked to Lisa and became her friend and things.
BurnSide
Not exactly. While Lisa was turned mentally deranged by having to look after the charred body of Alessa, whose 'wounds would not heal' and by her drug addition, Lisa and Alessa never actually spoke.
Lisa was, however, the only person who had ever been nice to Lisa, which is why Lisa is portrayed as Alessas friend and a person who is nice to Harry in the nightmare hospital.
Lisa was the one who also wrote a diary, not Alessa.
Commander_Cornett
See that's what was confusing me. Other sites telling me things that weren't true... ah well. I know that I sound like I don't know much... i just won't to get everything straight so i don't get anything wrong. I'm trying to write a brief history on the events before Silent Hill became a settlment leading up to Silent Hill 1 and Silent Hill 3, not using Silent Hill 2 and The Room's story (i think all that will confuse people not familiar with the story when i am only doing a continuation of Alessa's story).
BurnSide
Cool.
I wrote the first 2 and a half chapters of the first game as a novel which you can read in the Writers and Artists hangout section, if you're interested. I got bored writing it though, and switched to writing a zombie horror story in my blog. laugh.gif But i'll probably get back to writing the SH story afterwards.

Actually it was aval-able on the PS2 Directos cut version also.
BurnSide
Yup. Along with the UFO ending.
Walken
I never got that no.gif
BurnSide
Me neither. I downloaded it though.
Walken
Me too. 'Tis very funny laugh.gif

Hey everyone...iīm new on this site.(this is my second reply)
I have only read the first page and this last page but Iīm member in a sh forum(silent hill heaven).
well anyway i think that sh is a great game because of its eriee enviroments and deep mysteries.
I only have the second and third game but I maybe gonna buy the fourth game(canīt find the first game anywhere) even if i havenīt heard so good things about it.
Walken
Before you buy the fourth game, buy the first yes.gif
BurnSide
Yay, second best ending down, and i finished the game with Eileens Nurse costume, simply to say i've done it. Although it's dumb as hell, i wish you could turn it on or off.

Two more endings to go.
Walken
Is it the same as the evil-nurses costume?
BurnSide
No, looks more like a white playboy bunny costume. It's dumb, especially considering she spends most of the game cut up and bandaged.
Walken
laugh.gif That's what I thought.
BurnSide
I mean whose stupid idea was it in the first place?
It's a little different if you give, for example, Jill a sexy costume, compared to giving a chick who is beaten and cut up within an inch of her life one. That's not sexy. Neither does it fit with the SIlent Hill theme itself.

Still, the extras aren't half as stupid as SH3.
Walken
I know!

I mean, a sexy heather beam?

What the hell is a sexy heather beam? laugh.gif
BurnSide
Evidently, it's when a Heather Beam becomes sexy. Duh!!

The lightsaber was cool though.
Walken
Yeah, 'twas. In fact, it was very cool. Many a-pink bouncy things died at it's blade.
BurnSide
happy.gif
Any plans to play through SH4 yet?
Walken
laugh.gif Not right now. I've only in the last three months discovered the wonder that is Halo, after all.

I've made a promise to myself- If Silent Hill 5 is a floonk, then I shall not buy any other Silent Hill Game, no matter how great i've been told it is. I fear that SH is losing it's way. no.gif
BurnSide
I doubt there will be any more SH games after 5.
I also doubt it will be a floonk, since it will be next gen, and back to the ways of SH2, how can they possibly go wrong.
Walken
It's easier said than done. After seeing SH3 and 4 and comparing them to SH1 and 2, they're just not worthy of the title.

And the strange thing is, they're both (by normal standards) great games, just not in the sme league as SH.
BurnSide
If SH3 had more free-roam and less returning to old locations... and less action-based gameplay with repetitive boring enemies, it would be awesome.
I think this was mentioned before, but funny how SH2 was PERFECT in terms of action, because it had an excellent variety of firearms and melees and was realistic in what you could obtain, but SH3 was dumb in terms of giving you excess ammo for weapons like the sub machine gun, lame. And then SH4 had you pretty much using melee-only throughout the whole game, since ammo for firearms was impossible to carry and they were pretty useless anyway.

They had the perfect balance, why ruin it with two extremes!!
Walken
Exactly.

And I can't beleive I got you to say 'floonk' laugh.gif
BurnSide
I said it to humour you. tongue.gif
Walken
laugh.gif Well it was an acheivment all the same.
BurnSide
Indeed.
Off topic a little, but since we're chatting, have you read the latest parts of my story? I posted an actual topic about it now in the writers forum. thumbsup.gif
Walken
No, I'll check it out now.

This is proof; shameless publicity works laugh.gif
BurnSide
Meh, i have no hard feelings about shamelessly plugging from time to time.

The latest part is excellent, even i say so. grin2.gif Thanks bud.

End off topic.

A lot of ammo for the submachine-gun? Come on! I only found two clips in the whole game and oly used them for the final fight! As for the free-roam, I'm not a big fan of it, for a simple reason: the fog. I know it adds to the atmosphere, but I don't think it's funny to go through a whole town only seeing three feet ahead of you. It's way more boring for me than, say, the free-roaming of GTA.

U know? Before I joined the forum, I wasn't really a big fan of SH. Only after reading a lot of pages of this thread I started playing them SERIOUSLY. And I'm a big fan now!! grin2.gif
BurnSide
Sorry, i didn't mean alot of ammo for the sub machine gun, i ment alot of ammo in general, AND a sub machine gun, which was totally out of character for dark realistic SH, in my opinion.

The freeroaming in SH3 was silly too, for two reasons. Firstly, the reason you mentioned, there was too much fog. Twice as much as in SH2. It was silly. And of course, because we'd done that part before in the previous game, so it wasn't very fun.
I'm sure the fog will be dumbed down for the next installment, since it wont be there to cover polygons, which it was it was originally used for.

I STILL don't agree with you, in general I found a helluva lot more ammo in 2 (finished the game with more than 100 bullets for my boomstick). I didn't have as much ammo on 3. The maximum number of bullets I had was around 80 for the handgun. In 2 I had 160 bullets ONLY for the handgun.
Shakezulah
well, if you play on an easier mode, then you get a lot more ammo in SH2. i found a lot of ammo in 3 too. maybe you didnt look hard enough?
jpalz
I played in Normal both 2 and 3. Maybe you found a lot of ammo, but you also spent it quite quickly (for example, I needed 7 or 8 bullets to kill a dog). In the items found section when I completed 3 I got all the stars too.
BurnSide
I had so many handgun rounds at the end of 3 i killed the boss and still had way over 100 handgun and 50 shotgun.

All depends if you shoot alot, use melee weapons alot, and find all the bullets.
jpalz
I tried mostly to avoid fights, and always used the melee weapons or the handgun. I only used the submachine gun in the final fight and the shotgun I used it against the Missionary and another monster.
BurnSide
I didn't even use the sub machine gun at all. no.gif I very much dislike that the put it in the game, it has to be the worst weapon for Silent Hill.

Was cool where you find it though.
Walken
Yes, but the minute I found it I tried to write a naughty word on the wall with it and ran out of ammo at the U. laugh.gif
BurnSide
Way to go. tongue.gif
Walken
The scary part was, it was legiable.
BurnSide
Big waste of ammo.
Walken
Exactly. But I did fine without it. There really was no need to put it in at all.
BurnSide
Not at all. A useless weapon, made the last boss fight a few seconds quicker.
Walken
I'd rather have the extra few seconds for fun. laugh.gif
BurnSide
Yeah, and it wasn't like the last boss was hard. Ooh i have to dodge a line of fire ahhh!
