In the apartments after you get the two coins and meet Eddie what do you do?
BurnSide
Aug 23 2004, 02:35 PM
There is a third coin to find. Then you must arrange the three coins in a desk inside a room, get a key.
ChrisC098
Aug 23 2004, 02:43 PM
I got the one in the garbage and the one in the pool. Where is the other one and where is this desk?
BurnSide
Aug 23 2004, 02:52 PM
Have a look around! It's all very easy to find.

I don't want to have to give you ALL the answers though the game!
ChrisC098
Aug 23 2004, 05:09 PM
OK so I have all the coins but for the life of me I can not find the desk. I checked my map and it says that ive either been in all the rooms or they are locked.
BurnSide
Aug 23 2004, 05:32 PM
There's a room on the first floor of the apartments, i think it's in the second building after you go through the fire escape into the other building. It has a chest in it.
There's a note on one of the other doors that says which room it is.
BurnSide
Aug 23 2004, 05:35 PM
Yeah, second building, Blue Creek Apartments:
After running into ANGELA here, Go to room 105:
ROOM 105
Examine the cabinet with the five little holes in it. It looks like
that guy's kooky uncle mentioned in the note put their keys in a fancy
puzzle-locked drawer. I'd beat my uncle down if I had to solve this
stupid puzzle to get into my apartment.
This is where you have to use all those coins you've found around the
apartment buildings. Read the poem that you get, and use the clues you
read to figure out where the coins belong. If you can't figure it out,
the solutions are below. When I say the second, third, etc. slot, I
mean it from left to right, like this:
1 2 3 4 5
HARD Mode - OLD MAN COIN - second slot
- SNAKE COIN - fourth slot
- PRISONER COIN - fifth slot
NORMAL Mode - OLD MAN COIN - second slot
- PRISONER COIN - third slot
- SNAKE COIN - fifth slot
EASY Mode - OLD MAN COIN - first slot
- SNAKE COIN - third slot
- PRISONER COIN - fifth slot
Once the coins are in their proper places, the drawer will open, and
you'll be able to get the LYNE HOUSE KEY.

Is SH3 the first one you've played Jan?
If so the storyline may be confusing since it directly follows the first game.
Just ask if you need any clarfication on the story.

with the silent hill games, i believe that they are not very scary at all. the first one i played was silent hill 2. it was scary at first, but after that it was very easy to play. i can play it in under 4 hours now. silent hill 3 was pretty scary at first. but like i said with silent hill 2, i got used to it after awhile....
okay, they said that silent hill one was supposed to be the scariest game ever? that wasn't bad at all... the only thing i didn't like was the controls. ^^;. silent hill 2 would have to be my favorite! ^^
BurnSide
Sep 2 2004, 05:47 PM
The reason SH1 is scary is because when it came out it was incredibly revolutionary. Nothing like it has ever been seen on the gaming market except Resident Evil, and it's much more freaky than that. Obviously compared to todays standards the game is lacking but if you played it when it was first on the shelves it would have been a different story.

i just played sh1 last year, that could be why it wasn't scary XD did you like sh2?
BurnSide
Sep 2 2004, 10:30 PM
It's my favourite too yes.

The atmosphere, the monsters, the story, the graphics, all top notch! SH3 was a big let down compared to what was promised. But SH4, holy crap!

right ok i've never played any of the silent hill games, but i'm thinking about buying silent hill 4 when it comes out for the XBOX, is it worth my while?, will i still enjoy it eventhough i haven't played the others..i mean i love resident evil and the suffering....
how highly do you rate silent hill games?
mr_halo
Sep 2 2004, 10:38 PM
also can someone maybe give me a brief summary of what has happened in the games leading up to silent hill 4?
i thank you in advance...
BurnSide
Sep 2 2004, 10:42 PM
Phew. That's a tough one.
Infact, it's pretty impossible unless i had 30 mins to spare and you wanted to do ALOT of reading. Since i'm at work i can't right now, but will for you when i go home in a few hours.

Sep 2 2004, 10:44 PM
can't you summarise it into like a sentence

, i'm not a big reader!!, but if you could give me that info that would be great...
cheers
BurnSide
Sep 2 2004, 10:47 PM
It's impossible. 100% impossible.
The story of silent Hill goes back to before America was America. The there's a bunch of events that happened before the first game, hundreds of important events in all the games and between them etc. You can't summarise it, you just have to play the games really.
Shakezulah
Sep 2 2004, 10:51 PM
yeah but how much of it is really THAT important

All of it dude!
Try and summarise the first game in a few sentances. You need to include the Cult, Alessa, Harry, Cheryl, Daliha, Lisa, The Hospital, The Amusement Park, the School, hell just LISTING these things takes up tons of room.

well i'll have a look around the internet, i'm sures theres hundreds of sites dedicated to just this sort of thing, plus it will save anyone else having to do it, i mean i don't to be a bother...
one question should i buy silent hill 4?, if you say yes i'll buy it, i need a game to keep me going until fable and halo 2....

is this release date accurate for uk release 9/24/04?
Shakezulah
Sep 2 2004, 11:01 PM
is there gonna be a direct sequel to SH2? like 3 was to 1?
my friend has a demo of SH4 and he said it sucked. but im thinking it was just the beginning of the game and it was kinda boring. and he doesnt really like the games anyways
BurnSide
Sep 2 2004, 11:03 PM
There will be no sequel to SH2 man. Thank god.
I have no idea what the UK release is. Sounds about right though that's what the date is over here i think.
Yes you should buy it. And no, it simply isn't possible for this game to suck.
Shakezulah
Sep 2 2004, 11:04 PM
why do you make it sound like a SH2 sequel would be bad?
mr_halo
Sep 2 2004, 11:05 PM

3 was the sequel to 1, and 2 was a different story, argh complicated already, where does silent hill 4 fit in then?
BurnSide
Sep 2 2004, 11:06 PM
It would be bad.
A sequel to the first one was bad. How would you do a sequel to a game that is completely closed. Done with. Finished. There is no sequel possible and if they did do one it would be terrible.
The beauty of SH2 was the fact that it was it's own story, seperate from SH1. When SH3 came out and i found out it was a sequel i was mortified, and the game really was bad compared to 2.

SH4 will surely be better than 2! in my opnion, 1 was even better than it.

Sep 2 2004, 11:11 PM
SH4 will be unbeatable by any PS2 game to date in the genre.
The trailer scares the crap out of me alone. The story behind it, from what i know so far, is FANTASTIC. the characters are brilliant, the enemies are so incredibly freaky, etc etc.

Sep 3 2004, 01:23 AM
jpalz, how good is the scare factor? i wanna be scared ###### when i play it. more scared than i was when i play Fatal Frame
jpalz
Sep 3 2004, 03:17 AM
I don't know how scary Fatal Frame is, never played it, but the game is disturbing, specially in the first half, and the second one is scary too. The fact that the flashlight and radio are gone doesn't mean that the game is less opressive
Besides, the story leaves you many things that aren't fully explained, so you can figure them out for yourself, just like any other SH, so, even though as a game is completely different to the other three, is as good as the other (and finally with responsive controls).
I need help with 2. I'm in the hospital, and I get a number (7344 I guess), where do I have to use it? That game is awesome too..

Yeah yeah yeah, third floor there's a door closed that requires some kinda code.
And an elevator that doesn't wanna open in the second floor.
ive played all the silent hill games and ive gotta agree they are the scareist games ever
