I wanted something like that in Resident Evil Outbreak. They dissapointed me by making the multiplayer online only. But it would have been really cool.
Say, you're playing split screen. One person starts on one side of the city, the other starts on the other side. The person left standing, wins. Simple. The other player can kill you, as well as the zombies/monsters. MAN THAT WOULD BE COOL.

That's the thing with rentals eh. If you owned the game you could take your time, figure it all out yourself. With rentals it spoils the gaming expericence a little cause you have to get it completed in the time you rent the game for, so you gotta get help somethings. Boo!

I saw the other day an update of the SH movie in IGN, here it goes:
September 20, 2004 - Filmmaker Roger Avary (The Rules of Attraction) has revealed on his official site that he is collaborating with director Christophe Gans (Brotherhood of the Wolf) on the script for the forthcoming movie version of Silent Hill.
Avary writes, "Silent Hill... my life is consumed by it. The soundtrack to Silent Hill 2, the graphic novel, fan art, and of course, the games. I'm mostly spending the evenings re-playing Silent Hill 2 (my favorite of the series) on my French PS2, and then watching various DVDs that Christophe suggests are similar to the Silent Hill feel. Then, every morning at 10AM, a car picks me up from my apartment in St.-Germain-des-Pres to deliver me to the palatial offices of Samuel Hadida (which we call KGB Central) where Christophe and I feverishly work alongside each other. We have the entire 4th Floor production suite to ourselves. Christophe is obsessed with all sorts of obscure Italian soundtracks, which we listen to (along with the Silent Hill 2 soundtrack and heavy doses of Serge Gainsbourg) while we write. We've had a game system brought into the office so that we can take breaks to play."
Fans of the game should be pleased to hear that Avary is playing it enough to have a firm grasp on the source material, but he warns that he isn't nearly as obsessed with the subject matter as Gans is. He writes, "Okay, one thing: WOULD YOU FREAKING SILENT HILL FANS PLEASE STOP SENDING ME YOUR SCRIPTS! I delete them without reading them, and it's getting a little absurd. I mean, does everyone who plays this game write a script immediately after finishing?! And please, stop asking me if I'm as obsessed with this game as you are. The answer is, NO, I'm not. But Christophe Gans IS. I'm just writing down his interpretations and visions. I appreciate the concerns, and I'm happy to know what your favorite moments of the game are – but please, relax a little. It's going to be a fantastic filmic experience – Christophe is too obsessed with it for it not to be. Have faith."
Silent Hill 2, which seems to be serving as the primary inspiration for the film, centers around James Sunderland, a man who's life is shattered when his young wife Mary suffers a tragic death. Three years later, a mysterious letter arrives from Mary, beckoning him to return to their sanctuary of memories, the dark realm of Silent Hill.
Thanks to "Peter" for the heads-up.

No just kidding. If he makes a bad movie we should take every silent hill thing he has away from his and ban him from ever touching anything related to silent hill again.

Alright, been playing SH4 for about an hour.
So far, meh, it's so so. I HATE the fighting/battle system, it's awkward, slow and weird. Especially when you're trying to target a threat and the character is aiming at an enemy that isn't a threat. Ugh. SO far i've found just about everything about this game slow and awkward and fairly annoying.
So far i've gotten to the 'end'? of the Subway area, going up that long escalator with the ghosts coming out of the walls. They killed me boo. No biggie. It's again, f***ing annoying though because i'm trying to target one above me and the character is aiming at one below me.
I don't find it scary in the least as of yet. oo it's a ghost, oo! The freakiest part was that damned mannequin with the bloody hands and the tokens. Whoa! What's with Konami and their damned mannequins!?

Finished that part. Cynthia wasn't much point was she? I have a feeling she'll pop up again.
In the woods now, having a chat with Jasper. Stuttery guy ain't he.
Still not really all that impressed. The overall feel the the game isn't appearing to me, and the controls are still pissing me off. They're not hard to master, just f***ing stupid.

QUOTE(BurnSide @ Jun 20 2004, 02:05 AM)
So, while my Resident Evil conversation is one hot topic, i wondered if anyone has played Silent Hill? It's another amazing genre of survivor horror like Resident Evil, but with a twist.
It's TERRIFYING.
I wanted to know peoples opinions on Silent Hill, where they pooped themselves, and to talk about the upcomming Silent Hill 4: The Room, which i've watched the trailer of and frankly looks so horrifying, disturbing and creepy i had nightmares the night after i watched the trailer. Gawd daymn!
Also, the upcomming movie Silent Hill is in full throttle. Oooh!!
So, theories, questions, reviews, etc?

Well, it's slowly been getting better the more i play.
Did the forest, the water prison which i liked alot considering most people hated it. The levels have all been horribly easy so far though, no puzzles. Hell i got through the apartment building in about 11 minutes. The enemies are all horribly easy too despite the crappy targeting system. So far though i have to say, the story has been really great. Not even close to as disturbing as previous titles have been, maybe i'm just getting used to it haha. Anyway i just finished the hospital and now i'm back in the room.

I dont like this game. I DONT LIKE IT! I tried I really did. I dont like henry, I dont like moving, I dont like being in first person, I dont like the music, I dont like the inventory. I CANT TAKE IT! I died on that retarded escalator. Oh well ill try again later.
Shakezulah
Sep 28 2004, 08:45 PM
how can you not like it? its still a great game. the movement in this game is so much easier and better than in the other games.
wow BS you got a lot farther than i did. im in the beginning of the apartment place. what mode are you playing on? im playing on easy.

Normal. I NEVER touch easy.
The apartment building was dumb. It took me 6 minutes to do it. Ask me if you need any help, i'm about a world ahead of you.
I understand KECT's complains. i died on the escalator too, that was my initial frustration. But once i really got used to running around, switching weapons with the inventory system, examining stuff in first person, i gotta say it's really growing on me. And the story is great!

Sep 28 2004, 08:51 PM
the escalator was easy. i didnt die on it. thats only because i had a health drink. i didnt like the game as much as the other ones at first either, but now i really love it. im gonna play again later. too bad i have to return it tomorrow. did you notice the stuffed rabit from SH3 in Eileens room?

Btw, that's not the only referance to the stupid rabbit from SH3. Sometimes when you look outside your apartment building window you can see a giant purple SH3 rabbit head floating above the buildings.
These things really take away from the game to me.

No i was just looking forward to you getting to where i am.

Actually though i think i might start again too. Stock up on more weapons and ammo and stuff. Find things that I missed. Apparently there's a STUN GUN hidden in one of the cells of the Water Prison, you have to jump down the right hole to find it. I hate missing out on things.
But you know, i actually haven't fired a SINGLE shot in the game yet. haha. I just use the golf clubs, and the axe is AWESOME.
