I agree with Kismit on that one.
It's taken SaRuMaN/dAz ( with a little help from us mods) a long time to get this forum to where it is today and when I joined just over 2 yeara ago I was member 220.
Now look how many there are....

It does take a while i used to be a site admin until the host had to shutdown then i decided to quit. It does take awhile to get the forum up (unless your installing forum made from other people like phpbb forums.) But you got to make the homepage yourself that does require lots of time. But i did have other site admin to assist me so it did kind of made my job alot easier.
Back to the forum once you got everything going you got to make people visit your site.(this is probably the hardest)Make the site easier to access, advertise your site(beware making post saying visit my site etc are consider as spam for some site admin and they won't like it) You also got to make the site different to other site they the visitor don't want to go to your site and its is basically the same as the other site. And some good luck.
Mentalcase
You have to be persistent with content and interesting topics, that is for sure.

A little patience wouldn't go a miss, give people a chance to answer dontgetit.gif

The best advice I can give you is to be persistant, it can be a daunting task to begin with, but if you keep at it you'll get there eventually.
