Hey Sweetie!

There are many great books out there! If you are interested in the Wiccan way of life I highly recommend anything by- Scott Cunningham or Raymond Buckland. They are great authors, and are wonderful for the beginning Wiccan.

If its the general occult you're looking for, I don't have any authors in particular, but I have some simple advice. Try and stay away from most books written before 1990. I only say most, because, most occultisim books written before then, seem to be generalized. Almost I the ones I read, didn't seem to have the open mindedness, and free writing, that I saw in later books. They seemed to lump all of the occult in to Satanisim, which it definately isn't. I'm sure there are others on this board, that will give you other great reading as well!!

If you are just looking for spells, I would highly suggest, reading more of how a spell works. Its not as simple as reading a peice of paper, and then "poof" it happens. (a.k.a. Buffy) Most Wiccans and others, that cast spells (myself included), write thier own spells. There is also the, Law of Three, to consiter.

Moe wants to learn how to shoot lightning like a bad jedi. He asked Withered Rose but she could not teach Moe the dark side of the force.

Oh great and wonderful odinsgrl, will you be the one to teach Moe the evil force lightning ?
odinsgrl
Nay, Great Moe. For I fear, that you would use this power, in place of your Samurai sword, and harm, unruly, elderly people! And then I would be shamed, as shamed as Yoda was with Atakin.

Oh great and wonderful odinsgrl, Moe has never harmed the elderly. Everytime Moe sees one crossing the street, he helps them cross faster with the bumper of his car.
And we did not know that Yoda was on the atkins diet.
