How in the crap do I get rid of spyware. I'm on a LAN network at school, and all the computer geeks think it's funny to send out viruses and other stuff and it keeps screwing up my computer. I've got a firewall but it doesn't keep all that crap out. HHHHEEEEEEELLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!

Do you want to get rid of it on the school computer? I think they have rules about installing stuff but I use Ad-aware, spybot and bazooka. Try talking to the staff about it.

its at school ? Find the morons installing it and kick their @$$'s .

Also , if you can install spybot or ad-aware , then do it . Using an alternative browser to IE explorer will always help as well .
side note - The most direct way to deal with viruses / spyware is to use as litte software created by microsoft as possible . Pretty much evrything windows related is targeted by viruses daily .
And I was joking about the @$$ kicking .

if you can use netsend on your computer, try using this. Change the username to their log in name and save it as a batch file (*.bat)
Run it in DOS
once sent this little batch file will continue to send it's self over and over again

@echo off :start net send username Don't annoy me, and I won't annoy you, GOT IT!!! goto start |
half of our class ended up using this one on a girl who bugged the shyt out of us, needless to say she got the message and never did it again

screw up their comps.
Ask the teacher to stay in at lunchtime to finish off work *wink*
then go to their comps and put passwords on the BIOS. That way they can't start up the comp at all

I made a program does something like this except i can hide my name so know one know im sending unless they find out my ip etc etc.
i gave the code to my friend and he accidently put * on the the target field (send to target user field) and it sent to every computer in the school.(including the principal all the teachers etc) I nearly got suspended for givng the code and same as my friend for using it. the principal just said dont give the program to other people. and i wont be suspended.
Anyway with this net send i made a program that kill those mesages so the net send annoyance wont work on me MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!
SO how are those people screwing up your computer? Maybe i can help to give you some revenge.

Just use Ad-Aware.
http://www.ada-ware.com. Install it and it will get rid of all the useless junk on your computer, including anything that can contribute to a virus or worm.

pest patrol is a really good one...gets rid of all spyware, adware, keyloggers, trojans...but it is slow on the search side....
i would recomend pest patrol, spysweeper and ad-aware

AntiVirus programs can also detect some Trojans too

I would use Norton. Good Firewalls- Sygate, and ZoneLab's Firewall

I use Norton Internet Security which has both anti-virus and a firewall.

actually, changing the win.bat will do the trick nicely..
Just rename win.bat to ok.bat
Make a new txt file with the following contents:
You know we can take away your ability to long on, right?
Type Go to continue.
dunno if it works in win XP, but when i lived at home, i use to freak my father out with such messages, and he'd pay me to fix his system.
i use to use messages like

I use Ad-aware and spybot, but the Ad-aware seems to clean the computer up better. I hope you find something that works well for you.
