To be or not to be?
i'm doing a project on william shakespeare and my teacher asked me if i really knew what he ment by that and i have been thinking on it all day i have my own why. i think its wasnt ment to have one meaning but many and for personal reasons you can make it what you wish

To be or not to be, that is the question. Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take up arms, and by opposing- end them.

Not an identical replication of that famous quote, but that's how I remember reciting it during Drama 11.

I have always felt that that soliliquy (sp) was always meant to be multi-layered. There is the question of existance- should I live, or should I die? Is it better to suffer what pains I have in Life... or should I end it?

Of course, there is also a question of being human. Should I be noble, and humane, or should I indulge the animal within?

Those are only two things I've gotten from that speech.
