Does it really work? Have any of you had experiences with black magic? If it works, can it be really powerful?

There really is no "black" magic. It is the intention of the person putting out the energy. If the person wants to do harm, it has the same power as the person who wants to heal.
Emotion creates a lot of energy, and if casting while very emotional, the outcome of the spell can be very different from what you intened. Some spell casters, feed off thier emotions to cast spells, and that is the only way they feel they can raise enough energy to do so.

If you have evil intent with a spell you can do a lot of harm to yourself. It can back fire and nail you. The person you are attacking will suffer, but the spirits that protect him, will make you suffer. That is why it takes a lot of study before starting magic. I never do magic when I am angery, no good will come of it.

True magic is neither black nor white, It is both because nature is both , loving and cruel. Where the magic goes is in the heart of the witch.
And if by black magic u mean using magic to hurt others , then u should no the law of three fold return. U really shouldnt use "black magic" , unless u r prepared to get back 3 times worse than u sent out.

*repeats what's said above* its true. look into any book written in modern times that seriously discusses magick. They all saw that magick isn't ruely either black or white, its in the intentions of the user. Anouther thing to think about is the fact that you can't have one without the other. You need both for the other to exist.

I agree with everything said above. You must mind the threefold law when it comes to practicing magick because either way, good or bad, you will experience consequences.

Ever mind the Rule of Three,
Three times what thou givest returns to thee.
This lesson well, thou must learn,
The only gets what thou dost earn!

it sounds so peotic when you say it like that. I just say, if ya do something, it gets back to you three times worse, or better as the case may be.

Balck magic can only exist insofar as white magic does. This goes for all opposites or opposing forces. The best magic is the magic of peace of mind that comes from transcending the opposites.

Because I don't feel like repeating myself.. again...Every.. *calms self* thing I said there applies to here. Read that thread, please. I'm almost betting the same questions will arise, and so all the answers, from not just me, but Dark, Wolfie, and other magic practitioners are in that thread I just linked.

What I have learned is that "black magic" is actually self-focused magic which accomplishes some kind of harm or punishment to the object. It is used in cases of revenge, for example, and yes, it can be quite effective. It is also used to gain riches, etc. for the operator no matter the cost to others.
My experience is that when you practice this type of magic you must watch your Karma lest the ill you put forth returns to you. One practitioner I know lost one foot halfway to his knee in a freak car accident. Because his knee functions, he wasn't qualified to draw disability. He is convince that this was the result of a magical operation he had successfully performed earlier in the day.
Just be careful, okay?

It's true that it comes back to you. Even white magic it tends to piss God off, I know I've been there.
