Anyone know everquest?
How about Planetside? Xbox Live? Joint Operations (great FPS btw, better then BFV)
anyway.. a few weeks ago, I noticed that after 3-4 hours of playing at night, I'd loose my cable connection. TV still worked, but i lost the internet. About 5 minutes later, my connection would come back.. then after another hour or 2, it's do the same thing.. off for 5 minutes, then back up.
This happened for almost 2 weeks.. until a raid in Plane of Time, on everquest.
That pushed me over the edge.. i called Roadrunner.
I told them i had a good idea why this was happening.. I said it's got to be some sort of anti-p2p system, hoping to disconnect the program. The insane amount of bandwidth i was using was probably setting off all sorts of P2P alarms.
I explained that i don't P2P, i stopped after people made a big fuss over it. The bandwidth was being used by games, and if it didn't stop, I'd get DSL.
They apologized, denied the P2P story, and credited my account for that month.. and the disconnect thing NEVER happened again.
Is there a logical explination for all this? or was i right?

About 5 times a day my internet will lose it's connection for about 5 mins and come back on again. I don't play internet games anymore but i do download, using P2P. It's not Roadrunner since that's an American only company, it's Rogers but i actually work in the same building as the Roadrunner tech support people (yes the building for Charter and Roadrunner cable and internet is actually in canada). Anyway i asked them and they said they had no idea why the connection was lost constantly. I'm having a tech out on wednesday.

Personally, I don't like cable internet. Things like this were happening to my uncle when he tried to use his cable internet connection for his network. They had already messed up on his plan, and it did something similar to that. He could not get any help because the closest Adelphia customer service place was across the continent. I don't know if it's just cable, but I doubt it. P2P fears and comotion is utterly ridiculous. If you think about it, downloading is not illegal, just sharing the files are.
