I believe that some poor alien somehow became abandoned...ths could be for any number of reasons....I suspect his/her craft crashed.......so here we have this poor creature wandering around perhaps delirious?
Recall the same story in Brazil several years ago only with a "red" variety otherwise resembling this same forsaken creature......

Hi Triology,
I've heard about this theory too, the descriptions and witness drawings of the "Dover Demon" do look remarkably like the "Grey" alien form that is commonly linked to Extra Terrestrial visitation, abduction etc.
We will never know for sure what the "demon" actually was, but it really boils down to about 3 possibilities:
- The Dover Demon was a hoax
- It was an animal/person
- Something else ( an alien ? its possible.. )
With little more than the eyewitness accounts to go on, I doubt the mystery of the Dover Demon will ever be solved.

Yeah, as far as I know thats the only picture of the Dover Demon to be produced by an eye witness.
The name of the guy who drew it was Bill Bartlett.

Im not sure what this thing is, but I have seen drawings. Plus I have a book called "Unexplained" by Jerome Clark, (One of my prized posessions), and it has the Dover Demon in it, along with pictures. If my scanner was working, Id scan a few to post here.

I don't think it was any kind of animal. Leaning towards hoax or alien. More towards hoax.

I don't entirely think it matters what the thing actually was. It certainly isn't something I'd like to come across on a dark night.

I have some friends that moved here from Dover when I was in high school. We were having a party one night and a few of us were sitting by the fire and Jacob's parents came out and sat down to b.s. with us. They ended up telling us the story of The DD and swearing that their parents, J's grandparents, were one of the first to see it. Now these are some really honest down to earth people. I take their word. I wish I could remember the whole story. I will contact them and get some info.
