Welcome to UM! Do you really have EVERY Zelda game? Do you have the Panasonic ones? If you do you are officially obsessed with Zelda. If you do not never get them.
Nessieman23
I played majora's mask an OOA OOS OOT I nearly cried when I beat them...Majora's mask is the #1 favorite of ALL my favorite video games
dragonlady_mothman
Hate to break it to you, peoples, but I was just on gamespot poking around for more information and...the release date is June 30, 2006. crying.gif

WAAAH!!
dragonlady_mothman
Wind Waker was good and all, but a bit...cartoony. This next one looks awesome. My one regret so far about it is that it isn't connected to OOT or MM.

You know what would be awesome? If by preordering Twilight Princess, you got a bonus edition of Majora's Mask, like they did with Master Quest and Wind Waker. grin2.gif
BurnSide
From what i've seen, Twilight almost looks like a re-vamped, slightly changed remake of Ocarina. They at least definately based the game on it.
dragonlady_mothman
Aren't they all? There are like, what, three or four that have nothing to do with Ganon or the triforce?

What I meant was, I read an article that adressed if this was Ocarina's Link, or a "new" Link (just about all Links are not related to each other, read a few fansites, it's quite entertaining watching people try to figure that out). I was hoping this one would be a follow-up to Major, but...at least the graphics aren't cell-shaded. happy.gif
BurnSide
Yeah, i suppose they all are. Windwaker at least was something different, and i do enjoy it it's fun, but yes, i'm very happy that the graphics are more realistic.
dragonlady_mothman
Ditto. It was good and all, but too...cute. I was thankful that Link had more than three expressions. Tetra putting him in that barrel was priceless!

That look like a balrog to anyone else, or is it just me? huh.gif

Hey, you guys seen the trailor? Very bizzarre cybernetic look to the portal and the cat...um...imp...thing. Like Legend of Zelda meets .hack.
BurnSide
It is a Balrog. Everyone thinks so. happy.gif

I've actually seen the whole first part of the game. I posted it a couple pages back or so. I was at a Nintendo Game Conference in Montreal over the summer and they had all these massive screens set up showing the first 15 mins or so of the game. It ruled.
I was too busy kicking arse on Mario Kart to pay that much attention though. laugh.gif

I am just waiting for Twilight Princess to come out, OOT took me three months to complete and get everything, so I am looking for one with a bit more length to it, but one that is not so hard that you get stuck trying to tie your shoe laces.

Which according to Miyamoto, this one should be just that. Thank the Gods.
dragonlady_mothman
trailor-ness.
BurnSide
I still haven't found ALL the hearts in OOT.
Windwaker was easy to do everything.

I hated racing for Epona, in both N64 games. disgust.gif I'm glad we apparently don't have to race for her in this one.

Not all hearts for me, either, or Epona, or the Biggoron sword.

And Wolfy-Link keeps his earrings!! happy.gif
BurnSide
Epona was easy to get. So was the sword. You just had to work a little. original.gif

Link, he come to town
Come to save the princess zelda
Ganon took her away
Now the children don’t play
But they will when link saves the day
Hallelujah!

Now link, fill up your hearts
So you can shoot your sword with power
And when you’re feeling all down
The fairy will come around
So you’ll be brave, and not a sissy coward

Now link has saved the day
Put ganon in his grave
So now zelda is free
And now our hero shall be
Link! I think your name shall go down into history

Legend of Zelda, by System of a Down. happy.gif It's hilarious.

I'd like to see a seen in a future Zelda game with Link's fairy/annoying sidekick/someone following him around singing, "Link, he come to town, come to save the Princess Zelda..."
dragonlady_mothman
Link gonna have a fairy in this one, or anyother annoying talking rock?
BurnSide
He has a companion, but it's not a fairy. I can't remember exactly, but it rides with Link when he's a wolf.
And the rock didn't talk, it was a communication to Tetra. tongue.gif
dragonlady_mothman
That was my favorite way it was described. Someone on a thread or article I was reading prior to Wind Waker was flipping out and said he loses his trusty fairy and gets a "talking rock".

I saw it on the trailor. Looks like Impmon (from Digimon) got attacked by a virus.

user posted image
BurnSide
Yeah that's pretty close!!
dragonlady_mothman
the cybernetic look the Impmon-thing and the portal has kinda makes me wonder. There's a video game I heard about that the characters find out that they're just characters in a video game played in another dimension...makes me wonder if at the end of Twilight, Link finds out he's a video game character...on a bad disc.

*Impmon in the background singing, "Link, he come to town, come to save the Princess Zelda..."*

From what our translator told us, When Miyamoto was questioned about secrets left to find in the game: "I am surprised that no one has found Ocarina of Times biggest secret yet. Maybe around next March we will give the secret a way to loyal fans who are sticking with Nintendo for their gameplay."

an old article from ganonstower.com maybe that was the big secret maybe not! Makes me wonder maybe their are even secrets in all the other nintendo developed games for the 64 and even the gamecube.

Simply titled, so far, 'The Legend of Zelda'.

Here are two trailers:

Why does Link always appear to be swimming on his side? huh.gif
BurnSide
He is. He uses one hand to swim. AT least in OOT, MM and this one. The other hand i guess is clutching something.
dragonlady_mothman
I thought he put his stuff away before jumped in.
BurnSide
Yeah.. he did.
laugh.gif Still, that is how he swims, with just one arm. Except in Windwaker, where little Linkie actually swims breaststroke.
dragonlady_mothman
He could be in the process of doing a breastroke, just about to reach over with that other arm, but i doubt it.

I seen graphics like that in Pikmin, which, for all its frustrating timer, had graphics that made me go "O.O". The water looked just like that.

Guess there will be no more bizzarre wooden tunnels in the Lost Woods! grin2.gif
BurnSide
I guess not. Well, not a low-key repeating-areas one like in OOT or even the very first game. There many be a really cool lost woods though, with an actual massive area of woods to navigate. From what i've seen, i'll say you can almost bet on it.
dragonlady_mothman
I hope so. And it has to play Saria's Song. Can't have a Lost Woods without Saria's Song. Even Majora had that.
BurnSide
I don't think they'll have any characters or connections to OOT i'm afraid.
Besides, there were lost woods in the two 'main' zelda games before OOT and they didn't have Sarias song. original.gif
Althalus
The uzzles in this one seem too have more to do with animals than music this time around, but that is not to say that the ocarina will not be in it.

Zelda: Twilight Princess to Have Revolution Functionality
by Shawn White (12/22/05)

In the latest issue of the United Kingdom-based NGC magazine, information concerning the connection between Nintendo GameCube title The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and the Nintendo Revolution was revealed.

According to the magazine, "Twilight Princess will be playable on the forthcoming Revolution using the upcoming console’s unique controller. Zelda will actually 'bring in' the Revolution by launching fairly close to the new system, which is set to be released around November of next year, according to [NGC's] sources."

Continuing, NGC stated, "Twilight Princess will still be released on GameCube - there's no changing that fact. However, when you insert the disc into your Revolution, you'll be given the option to use the Revolution's controller, with all of the advantages that this will bring."

In regards to the cited release dates, NGC mentioned that while it doesn't "know the exact day, it seems that [Revolution] will likely arrive in the UK in November, just in time for Christmas," with Twilight Princess arriving some time prior.
Nintendo of America's Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales Reggie Fils-Aime confirmed some time ago that Twilight Princess would be arriving on GameCube in North America during April of 2006, so there's a possibility that the Nintendo Revolution might launch in other territories prior to Christmas 2006, if Jim Merrick's statements of a global launch are to be believed.

Revolution Report will have more on Zelda: Twilight Princess and its Revolution functionality as it becomes available.

Nintendo Dismisses Zelda's Revolution Controller Rumor
Twilight Princess still confirmed for GameCube in 2006
by Che Chou, 01/06/2006

Just before Christmas, we reported on a rumor from European Nintendo-centric magazine NGC that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will support the Revolution controller for some wand-wavin' good times. Today, Eurogamer has filed a story that debunks NGC's previous rumor as just that -- a rumor. Here's the quote from Nintendo:
"The article in the January edition of NGC Magazine is pure speculation. Nintendo have made no new announcements regarding The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. We can however confirm that the game is still in development and that it will launch on Nintendo GameCube in 2006."

Those of you willing to keep the hope alive will obviously read into the vague nature of the above statement, noting that Nintendo has neither confirmed nor denied the possibility of the Twilight Princess utilizing the Revolution controller. Simply that they're flatout dismissing what NGC claims was fact, as an unsubstantiated rumor.

Ah, but it's good to know our GameCubes will have a hot Link injection sometime in 2006.

This still doesn`t rule anything out though.

I guess its official its a revolution game.

^As long as it's on the Gamecube aswell, than I'll be happy. original.gif
BurnSide
Doubt it. Highly. The reason they keep pushing it back is to perfect it for the Rev. Be kinda dumb to bring it out on a last gen and next gen console.
Raptor
^Maybe so, but many of the latest games from the Xbox had Xbox 360 releases aswell. Only time will tell.

I've been playing Zelda: Ocarina of Time recently; I've got up to the bos TwinRova (The two witches, named Kouma and Koume?), I can't beat them at all. Does anyone know where I have to go to get the Ice arrows?
BurnSide
Yes, alot of old PS2 games such as FFXI did get released on the 360. And that's ebcause it's an ass system that is only a current gen marketed as a next gen.

Surely you have more hope for the Rev than the 360. original.gif

You don't need any arrows for that boss man, you have to use your shield to reflect their shots against the opposite one.
The fire witch attacks you with a beam of fire, you need to reflect that beam at the ice witch.

I can't believe I didn't think of that; I remembered that you could use the the fire arrow on the ice witch and vice versa and ended up thinking that was the only way. hmm.gif

Thanks; time to kick some animated 64-bit polygonal ass. cool.gif

haha. Just remember, you always use the item found in the Dungeon to defeat the boss. In that Dungeon, it's the Mirror Shield.

I finally completed Ocarina of Time, 8 years later than I would have liked; but I did it. yes.gif

I can't believe that no one has mentioned this but, Zelda and Link just turned 20 years old last week. It was 20 years ago to the day that The Legend of Zelda was first released on NES. Crazy.

Are you sure? According to Zelda Universe it was first released in July, 1986; and then in July 2007 for the states.

Well what ever the case, I may play through Legend of Zelda in celebration. tongue.gif
