"O Link! He come to town! Come to save the princess Zelda!"
I like how Ocarina of Time and Windwaker fit together so nicely. It was so awesome how it was exactly the same area, just 300 or whatever years later and the whole land of Hyrule had been flooded and the Hylians would live on Hill Tops without even knowing there was a whole majestic land undernearth them, man, that's the best sequel idea EVER.
"Now Link, fill up your hearts, so you can shoot your sword with power!"

Now don't start that again BurnSide!
I prefer the older Zelda's on the NES more. I dunno why, I just like old games more, kind of shows how much it's evolved from the 70's and 80's.

ive only played Ocarina, Majora's Mask, and I just started windwaker. I love Ocarina of time, it is an awesome game, very much a masterpiece.
I CANNOT WAIT til the new one comes out in '05... i nearly passed out the first time i watched the trailer (go to gametrailers.com and download), it looks awesome. The graphics are great, the baddies look cool, and you can swordfight on horseback!

Just so you all know, if you have no played the very original Legend of Zelda on console or Emulator, OR haven't played Link to the Past, your opinion in this thread is of very little value to me.
Damned younguns. I remember when the very first Zelda was released. It was a gold cartridge. The graphics where the BOMB, top notch, it was so incredible everyone owned it and played all the time.
tendo
Jul 15 2004, 01:55 PM
*sigh* i remember it well...it was quite appropriate to have it in a gold cartridge too...and that white pic of a shield, with 2 lions, a heart, and a key on it...just made me happy

i miss the days of those good games...i mean, yeah, games now are great...but theres just sumthin about the simplicity of the gameplay, and the near imposibilities set forth by the programmers...i dont think many new gamers could beat too many of the old games...

The Legend of Zelda OoT is the best game I've ever played. I haven't played the windwaker yet( don't have a gamecube) but I'd like to. I'm playing Majora's mask through right now. It's not as good as OoT but still a good game.

You know what's awesome about my version of WindWaker?
I got it with Ocarina too! So i have Ocarina on the GameCube! And to top it off it has Ocarina AND Ocarina Second Quest!
tendo
Jul 15 2004, 04:27 PM
how is that BS? i heard that the master quest was the same game, just the dungeouns are changed...is that tru? or are there other differences too?
BurnSide
Jul 15 2004, 04:37 PM
No, that's pretty much it. The dungeons aren't really changed either. M<aster Quest is simply hard mode. Enemies do more damage, items are harder to find, some things are changed around too i guess, where you previously found the slingshot now you'll find something else and you have to figure out where the slingshot is, that sort of thing.

The zelda games are the best games ever created. Ocarina of time was brilliant, its my fav zelda game. Wind waker look brilliant with the cel shaded graphics but it was a little too easy but really really fun. But I got rid of my gamecube and now I want it back coz of the new zelda game.....its looks soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo gooooooddddddddddd!!!!!!
On A side note nintendo games are the best ones ever created and they are still the undisputed masters of video games in my eyes!!!

I really enjoyed Windwakers storyline. Mostly because it's the first Legend of Zelda game with referances and a continuing story from a previous game (OOT). Plus, the windwaker version i had also came with OOT and OOT MasterQuest for Gamecube!

Majora's mask (in all its abominating glory...ok, it wasnt too bad, but it upset me that it was a real zelda game that i didnt like...) referred to OOT in the beginning as well...after link saved the day, he returned the master sword, and returned to his child hood, and rode into the forest, got lost, ended up in hyrules parallel universe...where evrythings the same but different, and the flashback shows how link got the ocarina...tho the ocarina in the game is the blue ocarina of time, tho the one it shows him receiving (unless he went back and got it from zelda some other time outside of the game) is just the plain ocarina...

I had no idea, but there's actually a new Gamecube Legend of Zelda game coming out very soon!
It's said to be an adventure of epic proportions, and goes back to the style of Ocarina rather than the comic-kiddie graphics of Windwaker.
I'll dig up some pictures, hold on.
It looks incredible. Really realistic.

Simply titled, so far, 'The Legend of Zelda'.
Here are two trailers:
http://www.zelda.com/universe/game/legendzelda/trailer.jspAnd here is a ton of amazing screenshots. Look at that, the enemies on the fields are on horses just as link is! Sweet! I'm glad it's going back to the travelling over Hyrule thing.
http://www.zelda.com/universe/game/legendzelda/shots.jspSome of these screenshots are just amazing.

Never thought i'd see a landscape like that in a LoZ game.

Horseback battles! Reminds me of LOTR.

Is that a BALROG? Definately LotR.

This is what i heard from my friend so far.(not sure if he;s telling the truth cause i haven;t been able to find anything that supports it)
1.There was gonna be blood in this game and a M rating but now it;'s back to E.
2.The battle on Link's horse is going to be a huge LOTR battle.
True?
BurnSide
Apr 21 2005, 10:57 PM
I haven't heard anything reguarding either of those. I don't imagine so. They would never give Zelda an M rating, that would remove it's prime audience.
And there's lots of pictures from several areas of Link battling only a few enemies on horseback here and there, and he's the only good guy, so i'd imagine it's just him fighting some random enemies in the field, at least that's what it looks to me, i don't see any evidence of a big battle, and no information really has been given on the game, it's due to be released in full at this years E3. So i couldn't imagine where he would have got the information from, although i can't offically deny it.
Neo2005
Apr 21 2005, 11:01 PM
Well i was a little skeptical about the info.
I think he may have been lying a little bit.
Although i think i Zelda with blood would add some much needed maturity to the game

Well, after watching both the trailers, i have to say it looks ALOT like Ocarina of time, just remade with new enemies, features, areas and graphics. I even saw a Goron in the trailer there.

It would be awesome with a M rating
But we all know that hell would probably freeze over before Nintendo put a "M" rating on a Zelda game.

No, no release date is set. Speculation suggests October this year. We will know that this years E3 for sure.

LOL! Indeed, the poor GC has really been given the shaft by most major reatilers with them selling it as cheap as possible and only haveing tiny sections of their games.

Indeed, i only have my gamecube for 5 games, 3 of which are Resident Evil, and one being Windwaker. But the quality of the few games that are good is such that the price of the GC was no question for me.
Windwaker is awesome, and this new Zelda, which i'm convinced will be a mega cool remake of Ocarina, is definately worth it.
