"O Link! He come to town! Come to save the princess Zelda!"

I like how Ocarina of Time and Windwaker fit together so nicely. It was so awesome how it was exactly the same area, just 300 or whatever years later and the whole land of Hyrule had been flooded and the Hylians would live on Hill Tops without even knowing there was a whole majestic land undernearth them, man, that's the best sequel idea EVER.

"Now Link, fill up your hearts, so you can shoot your sword with power!"

Now don't start that again BurnSide! grin2.gif

I prefer the older Zelda's on the NES more. I dunno why, I just like old games more, kind of shows how much it's evolved from the 70's and 80's.
BurnSide
hehe they're the only lyrics i know!

i agree the oldies were awesome too. wasn't a big fan of Link 2, but Link to the Past was AMAZING.
Nikolaos
Strangely enough, I have every single LoZ game created (INCLUDING JAPANESE IMPORTS!). I love these games. crying.gif
The Cheat
ive only played Ocarina, Majora's Mask, and I just started windwaker. I love Ocarina of time, it is an awesome game, very much a masterpiece.

I CANNOT WAIT til the new one comes out in '05... i nearly passed out the first time i watched the trailer (go to gametrailers.com and download), it looks awesome. The graphics are great, the baddies look cool, and you can swordfight on horseback! w00t.gif

not to burst yer bubble...but um...NES didnt even exist in the 70's...:-p ocarina is the best...but, my favorite zelda is link to the past...no contest...AMAZING replayability factor...
BurnSide
Just so you all know, if you have no played the very original Legend of Zelda on console or Emulator, OR haven't played Link to the Past, your opinion in this thread is of very little value to me.

Damned younguns. I remember when the very first Zelda was released. It was a gold cartridge. The graphics where the BOMB, top notch, it was so incredible everyone owned it and played all the time.
tendo
*sigh* i remember it well...it was quite appropriate to have it in a gold cartridge too...and that white pic of a shield, with 2 lions, a heart, and a key on it...just made me happy grin2.gif i miss the days of those good games...i mean, yeah, games now are great...but theres just sumthin about the simplicity of the gameplay, and the near imposibilities set forth by the programmers...i dont think many new gamers could beat too many of the old games...
kreestar
The Legend of Zelda OoT is the best game I've ever played. I haven't played the windwaker yet( don't have a gamecube) but I'd like to. I'm playing Majora's mask through right now. It's not as good as OoT but still a good game.
BurnSide
You know what's awesome about my version of WindWaker?

I got it with Ocarina too! So i have Ocarina on the GameCube! And to top it off it has Ocarina AND Ocarina Second Quest!
tendo
how is that BS? i heard that the master quest was the same game, just the dungeouns are changed...is that tru? or are there other differences too?
BurnSide
No, that's pretty much it. The dungeons aren't really changed either. M<aster Quest is simply hard mode. Enemies do more damage, items are harder to find, some things are changed around too i guess, where you previously found the slingshot now you'll find something else and you have to figure out where the slingshot is, that sort of thing.

I know, lol, guess it just came out wrong. I meant all the game systems, starting with Atari and all that. But I'm not sure if Atari came out in the 70's or 80's either... Oh well. Lol.
tendo
the first cosole system...sum gay name like channel F came out in 74...and atari 2600 came about in 77...so yeah, yer rite there...tongue.gif

Janiel
bah, I don't like nintendo games too much, although zelda is the best.
tendo
how can one not like nintendo games? metroid? mario? the old, or should i say good, rareware games...perfect dark...conker's bad fur day...donkey kong country...jet force gemini...ah...im gettin in the mood to play now hehe, i hafta go bond with my first love...
AztecInca
The zelda games are the best games ever created. Ocarina of time was brilliant, its my fav zelda game. Wind waker look brilliant with the cel shaded graphics but it was a little too easy but really really fun. But I got rid of my gamecube and now I want it back coz of the new zelda game.....its looks soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo gooooooddddddddddd!!!!!!
On A side note nintendo games are the best ones ever created and they are still the undisputed masters of video games in my eyes!!! thumbsup.gif
Lord_penance
OOT is a masterpiece!
The new one is looking fantastic, if only i had a decent computer to download the trailor...
BurnSide
I really enjoyed Windwakers storyline. Mostly because it's the first Legend of Zelda game with referances and a continuing story from a previous game (OOT). Plus, the windwaker version i had also came with OOT and OOT MasterQuest for Gamecube!
ChrisC098
I really didnt like Windwaker. I didnt care about the look but I just didnt like it for some reason. I loved OOT though and MM was pretty good too.
EternalChaotic
So far, Wind Waker and Majora's Mask are my fave games of the series. Yes, I prefer them over OoT. *Maany gasps.* Heh heh.....
BurnSide
I loved Windwaker, much more than Ocarina. Mostly because of the size of it. And i thought that the look of it was fantastic.
AztecInca
I throughly enjoyed windwaker but found it a bit too easy and not as challenging as i had hoped for. But it still was an amazing game that I enjoyed for hours and hours!
OOT is still the king in my eyes though!
Neo2005
Hey If there are any Legend Of Zelda fans here post it up here.
MonkeyMan
I liked link to the past, and ocarina of time, but other than that the series is ok.
BurnSide
Merged with other legend of zelda thread.
_hAiLO_
My opinions....Nintendo is holding back that Zelda game for the Gamecube...for what? *sigh*.....

Honestly, I just wish Nintendo would listen to their fans...
Syaoransbear
I had such a big crush on Link when I was younger... wub.gif

Thats so sad. mellow.gif
MonkeyMan
i used to be obsessed with ocarina of time
but a crush?*shakes head*

Majora's mask (in all its abominating glory...ok, it wasnt too bad, but it upset me that it was a real zelda game that i didnt like...) referred to OOT in the beginning as well...after link saved the day, he returned the master sword, and returned to his child hood, and rode into the forest, got lost, ended up in hyrules parallel universe...where evrythings the same but different, and the flashback shows how link got the ocarina...tho the ocarina in the game is the blue ocarina of time, tho the one it shows him receiving (unless he went back and got it from zelda some other time outside of the game) is just the plain ocarina...
BurnSide
I had no idea, but there's actually a new Gamecube Legend of Zelda game coming out very soon!

It's said to be an adventure of epic proportions, and goes back to the style of Ocarina rather than the comic-kiddie graphics of Windwaker.

I'll dig up some pictures, hold on.
It looks incredible. Really realistic.
BurnSide
Simply titled, so far, 'The Legend of Zelda'.

Here are two trailers:
http://www.zelda.com/universe/game/legendzelda/trailer.jsp

And here is a ton of amazing screenshots. Look at that, the enemies on the fields are on horses just as link is! Sweet! I'm glad it's going back to the travelling over Hyrule thing.

Some of these screenshots are just amazing.

Never thought i'd see a landscape like that in a LoZ game.

Horseback battles! Reminds me of LOTR.

Is that a BALROG? Definately LotR. laugh.gif

Neo2005
This is what i heard from my friend so far.(not sure if he;s telling the truth cause i haven;t been able to find anything that supports it)

1.There was gonna be blood in this game and a M rating but now it;'s back to E.
2.The battle on Link's horse is going to be a huge LOTR battle.

True?
BurnSide
I haven't heard anything reguarding either of those. I don't imagine so. They would never give Zelda an M rating, that would remove it's prime audience.

And there's lots of pictures from several areas of Link battling only a few enemies on horseback here and there, and he's the only good guy, so i'd imagine it's just him fighting some random enemies in the field, at least that's what it looks to me, i don't see any evidence of a big battle, and no information really has been given on the game, it's due to be released in full at this years E3. So i couldn't imagine where he would have got the information from, although i can't offically deny it.
Neo2005
Well i was a little skeptical about the info.
I think he may have been lying a little bit.
Although i think i Zelda with blood would add some much needed maturity to the game
BurnSide
I agree, although from the looks of things that has been achieved, it looks extremely different from the cartoony graphics of Windwaker and even Ocarina/Majoras.
BurnSide
Well, after watching both the trailers, i have to say it looks ALOT like Ocarina of time, just remade with new enemies, features, areas and graphics. I even saw a Goron in the trailer there.
Amalgamut
Does it say when its coming out?

It would be awesome with a M rating

But we all know that hell would probably freeze over before Nintendo put a "M" rating on a Zelda game. sad.gif
BurnSide
Of course, Zelda was never about gore.

No, no release date is set. Speculation suggests October this year. We will know that this years E3 for sure.
jpalz
It looks good, but I don't have a GC. Well, guess I'll have to play Minish Cap
AztecInca
I sooooo badly want my Gamecube back for just this one game, it looks like its trully going to be an awesome game and me being a fan of Zelda..... Arrrrgggghhhhhhhhh, I want it!

Aw, thats ok. By the time it comes out a GC will probably be even cheaper than it is now to buy a new system.
AztecInca
LOL! Indeed, the poor GC has really been given the shaft by most major reatilers with them selling it as cheap as possible and only haveing tiny sections of their games.
BurnSide
Indeed, i only have my gamecube for 5 games, 3 of which are Resident Evil, and one being Windwaker. But the quality of the few games that are good is such that the price of the GC was no question for me.
Windwaker is awesome, and this new Zelda, which i'm convinced will be a mega cool remake of Ocarina, is definately worth it.
Neo2005
Yeah the Windwaker game was amazing i loved sailing around the sea.
Especially after a long hard day of sailing goin to my little private island and tryign to do one of those crazy puzzles.
BurnSide
laugh.gif That's actually the only thing left for me to do. I've gotten every heart piece, every treasure, and it's taken damned long to do it!

I'm very much looking forward to this new one, it looks incredible.
Neo2005
Yeah ti will be amazing.
Hey BS post the realease date here when you get it.You'll probably hear before i do.
