last night i watched an episode of kingdom hospital, miniseries, i think it's a miniseries, written by stephen king, no doubt inspired by his hospital stay after he was hit by that truck, as one of the characters in the episode was.
anyway, has anyone else seen it?
whaddya think?
do you know if it is a miniseries, or was it just a made for tv movie?
the one i saw last night was about a fire in a mine that kills all these children, and it was about two hours long, so that makes me think it may be a made for tv movie.

Its a mini-series. I saw episode one months ago, were the guy gets hit by a car and rescued by an anteater which talks about being some all powerful being which is still to reveal itself or somesuch.
I wanted to see the rest but unfortunantly it clashes with work.
Its... weird

It's shite.
King's ego has got the better of him.
The original Danish TV series, The Kingdom, was miles better. Very atmospheric, very Silent Hill, very creepy.

thanks talon, cuff.
i agree it is weird, yeah it was the one with the anteater.
cuff, not quite sold on the fact it's crap, not brilliant by any means, but i think i'll give it another shot, as it is a miniseries.
would like to see the danish one you refer to.

Sorry, Jeceris, I
was a bit blunt, wasn't I?
In all fairness, had it been King's own idea, I would have thought more of it. It's just disappointing not to see him make more of it.
The Danish original takes a little getting used to, but it's location shooting, and brooding cinematography really does give it an otherwordly air. Fabulous stuff.
I regret not taping it from the telly when it was first shown, a few years back.

I saw the episode a few nights ago with the fire and the weird kid. I couldn't for the life of me understand what was going on. A doctor walking around with a gun and that other guy not being the least bit alarmed? What did the kid turn into? What was an icepick to the head supposed to accomplish? Who was that gothic looking guy? I don't have any idea.

I have not seen it, but I will. I have a hard time keeping up with tv programs.
However, I love king's fiction and will, someday, read all the books and watch all the films. By the way, I LOVED the tv adaptation of The Stand... M-O-O-N, that spells great tv.

I saw the last episodes on Sunday, I'd followed it from the beginng, and, aside from the annoying voice of the little ghost girl, I thought it was pretty good. I'm sure it wasn't better than the original (apart from 'the Parent Trap' what is) but I was really entertained by it, there were some really clever scenes in it and bits of it were just plain scary. However, the last episode was sooooooo naff, I really dislike lisping children!! On the up side, it's open for a second series and maybe some of the more annoying characters will be killed in inventive ways, here's to hoping.

I think it's a great TV series. Although I don't always get time to watch it I've seen about 5 episodes and like it a lot. Stephen King is the screen writer/adapter and I think it sounds like classic King. I don't know why it's not very popular, this is great writing. Whats even cooler about it, is that I live in the cities it takes place in.

I watched every one and really liked it. The last one I was so tired that I fell asleep and missed most of it. Does anyone know if it's going to come out on the market? Or even a rerun?
