Ok before i start this did not happen to me, but to my sister-in-law and its always been sitting in the back of my mind and i've always wondered about it. I am pretty damn sure that she was not making it up because while she was telling me she was clearly disturbed. It happened when she lost one of her sons to cot death. It also happened before she married my brother the actual dates i no longer remember.
-------
The story my sister-in-law told me:
She was home with her two children, and they were all asleep. One of the boys was only one or two weeks old. Everything that day had been normal, she put the boys to bed and then went to bed herself.
Sometime during the night she woke up and was sitting straight up in her bed. She said that she saw a figure at the end of the bed, close to the door. Before she realised what was happening the figure was gone. The way she discribed it to me was that it looked tall and was a light gray and kinda like really thick smoke in the shape of a figure.
She said that she had a feeling that something was wrong and she got up to check on the boys. When she went to check on her youngest son he was blue and had passed away from cot death. She even mentioned that he was still warm.
She swears that she while it frightened her, it wasn't anything to harm her or the boys, but to alert her about her youngest son.
-------
I was just wondering what everyone thinks it could have been?
What she told me scared the crap out of me, and like i said, while she was telling me she was clearly upset and distressed and it wasn't purely at the loss of her son. She told me this story about 7-8 years after it happened and she looked scared to be honest.

Could be a ghost, but I wouldn't like to wake and find something or someone stand at the end of my bed looking at me blink.gif

Maybe it was some spirit guardian or similar there to alert her to the tragedy.

I do believe that what you told is true. Mothers bond to her children is something unique and so totally overtaking. Sharing a "connection" in spritiual level is something often reported. Maybe the figure was the child, or just her visualization for what she sensed that happened... sad case..

Thank you for your replies. I'd like to think of it as a guardian.

Maybe it was a demon. Or somebody's astral body.

I'd first like to say how sorry I am about her loss. Being a parent myself, and coming so close (according to my doctor within 20 minutes) of losing my oldest son, the one who shares my sensitivity, at birth, I can imagine very well her pain. I believe it was a guardian alerting her to the situation, given the fact he was still warm.
