Okay, guys, help me out here.
I write poetry, LOTS of poetry, most of which is very dark and morbid. When I am writing a poem, the words sorta appear in my head as I write them on the computer. However, this poem came to me as a SONG, sorta being whispered directly into my head, and I cannot get rid of it. I have been hearing it and singing it for the past three days, and I cannot figure out why. My wife said to post it on here and see if anyone could help me figure it out, so here it is:
Can you hear the church bells ringing
Down in the churchyard?
Can you hear the blue whales singing
Singing near and far?
Can yoh hear the old man weeping
At his loved one's grave?
Can you hear the young child crying
Waiting to be saved?
Can you see the light in my eyes
Shining only for you?
Can you see the love in my heart
Love that is always true?
Can you see the end of forever
The end of all things real?
Can you see the beginnings of time
The beginnings of sight, taste, feel?
Can you smell the fear inside me
The fear of the unknown?
Can you smell the terror in my heart
Terror that chills to the bone?
Can you smell the decay of my heart
The stagnance of dried blood?
Can you smell the rain of my tears
Coming down in a flood?
My wife says it sounds almost like a chant. I agree. The question is, WHERE THE HELL did it come from?
