Dennis Green is at least affable, Martz has the personality of a wet-mop and is a arrogant know-it-all..........other than that, he's fine, lol. Why do you think he ended-up as an offensive coordinator in DETROIT instead of being scooped-up when he was "let-go" in St. Louis? Sure, he's an offensive genius, just as much as Buddy Ryan was a defensive genius....remember what happened to Buddy Ryan when he left Chicago to be the head-man in Philly and then Arizona?

I suppose that's ONE way of looking at it..

...Never let it be said that you wern't a "glass-half-full" kinda-guy, Frogfish!!!
The actual point was that Mike Martz, while an innovator and good play-caller for the offensive coordinator position of a team, dosen't have the type of skills to competently coordinate an entire team and it's three phases(offense, defense, and special teams) unless he INHERITS a great one like he did in St. Louis...his weaknesses were put on display for the entire league to see, that's why(especially given all of the head coaching vacancies in this off-season) people are hiring fresh-faced coaches like Bobby Petrino and Cam Cameron....HELL, The Raiders even hired a guy(Lane Kiffin) who's only previous experience in the pros was as a quality-control coach for The Jaguars in 2000......A QUALITY-FREAKIN-CONTROL COACH!!!...do you have any idea what a "quality-control" coach DOES? He gets THE COFFEE for the coaches meetings, THAT'S WHAT HE DOES!!!!! Yeah, but there good 'ol Mikey Martz sits...former head coach of a Superbowl quality team and an offensive GENIUS!!!!, what's that tell you? That things are SO great in DETROIT that he dosen't want a crummy head-coaching position....ANYWHERE???!!!

And the longer we get into the off-season, and the closer we get to the NFL Draft and the start of mini-camps, the less likely it will be that Mikey will be going anywhere......except back to work for good 'ol Matt "Teflon" Millen....enjoy!!

This will be the 3rd Superbowl played in Dolphins Stadium(formerly Joe Robbie Stadium), and if THIS game is anything like the first one played there('88-'89 San Francisco vs. Cincinnati), then it should be a great one. I've already had a chance to stop by The N.F.L. experience and had a great time with the kids. So far, the weather has been GREAT, but I don't want to jinx it, lol.

Man, it's just a testament to what a great staff The Vikes have when Linehan goes from offensive coordinator of The Vikes to the same position with Miami and then head coach of St. Louis....THEN, Tomlin goes from defensive coordinator to head coach of The Steelers. Don't worry Frogfish, it's a choice coordinator position, it'll be filled soon by a very competent coach.

Time for Frogfish's Superbowl XLI Predictions
Indianapolis Colts vs. Chicago Bears
It's Superbowl time already? Yes it is! Peyton Manning is finally in the Big One, and the Bears want to repeat the Superbowl Shuffle. The Bears D has struggled in the last few games against the run, and against the best QB in the league, it spells trouble for Da Bears. I see Peyton having a big game, with Harrison and Clark making keys play. Addai will pick up 70-100 yds.
The Bears offense will have problems against the energized Colts D. With Bob Sanders back at safety, and Dwight Freeney on the line, Grossman will be under tremendous pressure. To win this game, they'll have to dominate the running game.
In Special Teams, I see Hester being shut down, as he has been the last couple weeks. Vinateri, like always, will be a star...making clutch kicks.
Final Score:
Colts 30, Bears 14

Wembley to host Dolphins & Giants
The Miami Dolphins are to play the New York Giants in London on 20 October, the NFL has confirmed. As exclusively revealed by BBC sports editor Mihir Bose earlier this month, the new Wembley will host the match. It will be the first time a regular season NFL match has been staged outside North America. NFL owners voted last October to play up to two games outside the USA every year for the next five years, with just one game to be played in 2007.
The NFL staged its first regular-season game outside the United States in 2005 when 103,467 people saw the Arizona Cardinals play the San Francisco 49ers in Mexico City. That was the largest crowd for a regular-season game in NFL history.

I think it's a unique game, in the sense of the blend of brute strength/imposing your will & skill/athletic ability...the only other sport I can think of that I have seen that can come close to rivaling it in those aspects is N.H.L. Hockey.
I KNOW there have been exhibition games played in the U.K. before, but never a regular season game, and I believe that The Dolphins are pretty popular(as popular as a sport like American Football can be in the U.K.) over there.
Did you say you've NEVER seen an N.F.L. game before Raptor, or that you've never seen one live and in person?

Ah yes, the screaming at the television, refusing to go to the bathroom until a commercial is up, feeling like you're having a panic attack with all the excitement, hoarse throat the next morning.

I love football.

I don't really understand why The Fins and The Giants are going either...it has nothing to do with how good/bad both teams are....but the timing. If the game were played where it was supposed to be played in Pro Player Stadium in Miami, then it would be a guaranteed sell-out, but if they(The N.F.L. powers that be) think that it's going to be another Mexico City crowd, I think there GREATLY mistaken. They would have been better-off sending the winner of the Superbowl against someone...ANYONE...beacuse the winner of The Superbowl is going to be known all over the world whether your a American Football fan or not, IMO.
