That situation in Green Bay is starting to look ALOT like the situation when Marino "retired", but Favre is making this public, to where Marino diddn't want to be a distraction, and diddn't want to go play for another team(there was an alleged offer on the table from The Vikings), I think that everyone knows that his career is over......everybody but him....and he's, in turn, holding that franchise hostage in the process. If he's so disapointed in the way the franchise is being run, then you have three choices:

1. Retire

I had that debate with my brother not to long ago about Vick being overrated, the year he made the Probowl, he tried to sell me on Vick's talent-level...which is unmatched at the QB position in the NFL...but talent-level alone dosen't make you great, you still have to produce on the field...see Ryan Leaf.

They've been lookng to "upgrade" they're D-Line ever since the beginning of they're offseason. They tried to trade for Dan Wilkinson from The Fins, but he wouldn't report, so that trade was voided, then they were looking into a draft day trade for Kris Jekins from Carolina, but they're asking price was supposedly too high, then rumor has it they were looking into Ian Scott of the bears(well, I believe he's actually a free agent), but with all the problems The Bears have been having with Tank Johnson(an 8-game suspension, that hurts), I think they re-signed him.

Needless to further illustrate how desperate The Broncos seem to be to upgrade they're line, and while Sam Adams is a shadow of his former self from an ability-standpoint, he's still good at taking-up blockers and cloging-up the middle of the line on 1st and 2nd down, but other than that, he's EXTREMELY limited and one-dimensional.....to me, Sam Adams, Ted Washington, Pat Williams, and Keith Traylor are all the same player, just different jersey numbers, lol.

Careful, bad karma can go a loooooooooooong way if you invite it, and remember, as great as The Pats are, they're only one freak knee-injury from an 8-8 or 6-10 season. Dan Marino tore his achilles tendon in 1993 and was untouched, strange things can happen, they were heavily favored to win they're division that year and possibly make a Superbowl run....they lost they're final 5 games and missed the playoffs.

I don't think I can remember a team that was considered such a preseason shoe-in to be the AFC representative in the Superbowl, which is why I think that anything less will be considered a COLOSSAL failure on they're part, that's ALOT of pressure to have to shoulder.

I'm a Dolphins fan, have been for some time(since I was old enough to understand and play the game), and I seem to remember in 1994-95(Don Shulas last year as head coach before he was run-off and replaced by Jimmy Johnson) when The Fins tried to "buy" a championship by buying-up contracts left and right...Eric Green, Steve Emntman, Dan Mcguire, etc.....all it ended-up being was a collection of "guys" with talent, not a team, and they ended-up getting booted right outta the playoffs by The Bill in the opening round, a MAJOR disappointment, even as great as Marino and Shula were, even they couldn't make a team outta those guys with only a year together. As great as Tom Brady is, he's gonna need time to get acclimated to his new receivers, something that you truly can't do in the preseason alone...it'll be a work in progress in the regular season. By the way, are The Pats gonna actually pay Asante Samuel, or are they gonna do another Deion Branch with him?

Pat Williams is playing great, he is definitely one of the premier run stuffers in the league.

Don't feel bad, Fred Evans of The Miami Dolphins...a second year DT drafted by Saban....was arrested after being tasered...TWICE!!...by Miami Beach police after he refused to get out of a taxi he threw-up in. The charges were drunken disorderly, resisting arrest with violence(he's 6'4" and 310lbs.....DUH!!), and destruction of public property..........at least he wasn't driving, lol!!!!!

I can understand the frustration with Tank, considering how many chances The Fins gave Ricky Williams, but considering the new zero-tolerence policy that's being adopted by the NFL, he(Tank Williams) screwed himself, and he knows it, but he'll get another chance......next year.
